1. Describe yourself in terms of personality and values and how it affect your work persona (your person-job or person-organization fit and the way you relate with your boss or coworkers). Include at least (a) one of the big five personality traits, (b) one of the MBTI traits, (c) one value, and (d) another personal characteristics described in the chapter. (See link below the questions to take the MBTI test). The results I received from taking the MBTI test, consider my personality to be classified as a protagonist personality, which includes mainly extrovert, intuitiveness, feeling, judging, and assertiveness. I was shocked to see that protagonist personalities only make up two percent of the population. On my results, it stated I was fifty-seven percent extrovert and forty-three percent introvert, which is almost a close balance between the two and this is exactly what I feel about my personality in this category. I believe that it is great to have a balance between these two because it can help you in any type of job or conflicting situation you may have, because you have the ability to participate within a group or to work by yourself, just as effectively. The MBTI test also considered me to be mainly intuitive, I believe that the …show more content…
Depending on the circumstances destructive or constructive conflicts can both arise from having a dominant facet in this category when making decisions. For example, if in an spousal relationship one individual makes the decision in the relationship as a thinker and orients him or herself completely based on logistics then it arises a destructive conflict. In a contrary situation a court judge would base his or her decision-making dependent mostly with a thinking trait resulting in a constructive
In extraversion and openness to experience my score was eight and agreeableness was the lowest at seven. I also agree with my assessment that I have a moderate level of extraversion. In the Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test assessment, my personality type was Extravert-Sensing-Thinking-Judging (ESTJ), where I had marginal or no preference of Extraversion over Introversion (“Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test”, n.d.). Therefore each test tells me that I can be extraverted or introverted depending on the situation. If I am in charge of a task, I play the role of an extravert. In contrast, if I am not in charge I am more
The MBTI and NEO-PI-3 are two personality assessments that can be used by researchers and psychologists to assess clients, or by everyday people looking to get a better understanding of their personality and resulting behaviors. While reading through and evaluating the results I received, many similarities and few differences regarding my personality and resulting behavior were found. Personality assessments are known to not be entirely accurate in assessing a person’s personality and as a result, there can be inconsistencies between the results and someone’s actual beliefs. These inconsistencies that I found between the results I received and my own beliefs of my personality could be a result of some of the psychometric qualities of both assessments.
The MBTI is a test with no right or wrong answers or types. It determines the “type” of an individual and places them into 1 of 16 classifications. There is also no preferred type of personality that would be best in all situations. However, certain behaviors are preferred in certain situations or jobs. It is more important to be able to adapt to a situation when you don’t have the “right” personality. The results are meant to give a person a better understanding of their personality and actions, as opposed to measuring their intelligence or emotional stability. (Businessballs.com)
After taking this personality test I could not decide if I felt that my results were accurate about me or not. The personality test resulted in describing me as an extravert, intuitive, feeling, and judging (Humanmetrics,
The Myers-Briggs personality test is designed to help people understand their strengths and weaknesses. It allows people to become more aware of certain traits that may clash with other personalities and therefore helps people understand and value others who think or act differently. The Myers-Briggs identifies sixteen distinctive personality types. Questions are based upon the following: Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I), Sensing (S) or Intuition (N), Thinking (T) or Feeling (F), and Judging (J) or Perceiving (P). Responses to the questions determine the personality type of the test-taker. My test resulted in the personality type ENTJ (Extravert, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging).
Extroversion is a slight difference from the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBIT) which scored me as an Introvert. I strongly agree with an Extrovert moderate rating of 6 of 8 as I displays these traits in my everyday life. I sometimes talk to different people and may become a center of attraction in some settings. My external connection with the outside world is moderate. As a moderate extrovert, I share both characteristics which provides me the wealth to accommodate both traits in decision making. Good personal
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
The MBTI, Myers-Briggs Personality Test, is a tool used to analyze and define a person’s personality, along with the strengths and weaknesses that should come with it, and is often used as a method of influencing a person’s career path and/or their place in a company. The test results in you being assigned four letters based off the groups: introverted/extraverted, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. According to this quiz, my type is INTJ: introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging. Career paths that are listed as compatible with this personality type are computer science, engineering, librarian, law, and thankfully, management and entrepreneurship.
Our personalities are what distinguish us from each other beyond our appearance; without them, we would all behave and react in the same way. Personality is the reason we are outgoing or introverted, persistent or blaze, and anxious or calm. We each have different levels of these competing characteristics that make us unique. But why are personalities so varied? Personality is determined by an array of factors from genetic and biological to the personal experiences and decisions we have faced from the day we are born. The complexity of our personalities cannot be simply explained, and for this reason there exists many different theories of how it’s developed and personality is still deeply under study. I went into this subject with an open-mind
Characteristics a feature or quality belonging to a person, place or thing and serving to identify it. There are many personal characteristics that can define a person as an individual; some characteristics determined if a person is nice, disrespectful, intelligent, or not intelligent but it determines how a person interprets you. I believe that every individual has integrity as one of their characteristics, but my top three characteristics are Integrity, Compassion, and hard-working and for the person who carried me throughout my whole life “my brother” his characteristics would be his responsibility.
A Swedish singer and songwriter name Lykke Li once self-proclaimed that “I am such a complex person. I have so many different layers to my personality to choose from. I am super-sensitive, and I am super-strong.” Now Lykke Li is a singer and songwriter that, up until it came time for me to write this paper, I had no clue who she was. But the essence of her quote is so bona fide that it can almost pertain to any person when their type of personality enters their mind. Personality is the sum of all experiences that we as people have encountered over certain periods of life and, for me, taking this personality quiz was somewhat eye opening how certain experiences and how my childhood life and personality translates into the descriptions that pull up on these questionnaires.
Personality takes many shapes and forms and is affected by many factors. My understanding of personality is simply a genetic and environmentally determined set of psychological traits that influence our reactions in the world around us. Genetic because our parents possess a certain set of psychological personality traits that we tend to have in common with them so therefore in my opinion there are heritable personality traits. Personality is environmental because we each have our own separate experiences in the world and these experiences help form our unique personality. Neo-Freudians such as Jung have given us a wide array of ideas of how they believe personality is developed and formatted. Jung in particular has a very interesting
Hi, my name is Rob Geis and I am currently in grade 12. I have been at County High School for a year now; I joined at the start of 11th grade, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The school is great, the people are fantastic and the atmosphere is one that makes you actually want to go to school. Before I joined ASB I was studying at the Singapore American School for two years and prior to that I was at the International School of Kuala Lumpur for two years. I was born and raised here in Bombay city and grew up here.
50% introvert, 50% Sensing, 28% Thinking and 6% of Perceiving. I do have to say that I consider myself to be more of an introvert then an extrovert. It’s just nicer to stay at home and not have to worry about other people being stupid or doing stupid things. I can do stupid things at home without people watching. I am a little confused with it saying that I am more thinking then feeling because I feel like sometimes If something feels right then I would do it but I guess more of the time If I think something is going to benefit me I will do it. It also says I am slightly more Perceiving Then Judging which I think is false. I think I judge people all of the time. Based on these results it seems like I would be much better in life if I started to come more of the life of the party. I just need to share my ideas when I think about them and not worry about what other people will think about them. These personality tests seem to be all over the board with my results. It’s almost like the IQ test what is really
