I’ve always wanted to become an actor or a musician. The thought of living my dream through entertaining others and putting myself into my work has always been amazing. The decision between pursuing a career in acting or music has been a tough one and I still don’t know which can choose. I can only choose based off of similarities and contrasting parts of each profession. Music could be the better option because you can have a longer career in music than in acting. On the other hand, acting could be better because actors can potentially make much more money for much less work. There are also many similarities between acting and music, and they’re what make the jobs amazing. Music and acting share many of the same traits. The musicians and actors are always in the public eye, and that can create an immense pressure in their lives. Sometimes that can be bad and can drive people to madness, but sometimes it can drive people to improve. There is also the salary, which is one of the best parts. They both make an elephantine amount of money for what they do. A musician can work on an album for a year and can crank in over 50 million dollars in revenue for the album. Top actors make …show more content…
They can even be amazing if you have a few admirers, as long as you love what you’re doing. Music is probably the better business to get into, if you are really passionate about it. You don’t even have to have a good voice! You could be a rapper if you can think of songs with good flow and wordplay. If you have a good voice but you can’t write lyrics, you can get a ghost writer and sing what they write! There are so many options and opportunities for music, and that’s what makes it so amazing. Don’t get me wrong, acting has great opportunities as well, but music is just so much better. They both have their contrasting areas, and some can be better than others, but music is ultimately the career I want to choose based on these
Though The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz was written years ago, the idea of materialism, and measuring one's success by their possessions is also a prominent theme in pop culture in the West. Luxurious and excessive lifestyles are in, perpetuated by "blinged out" rap artists and rock stars who own multiple houses, and drive unnecessarily large and expensive sport utility vehicles and sports cars. Pop music has evolved throughout the 20th Century, and has now gotten to a point where it's not just music, but an industry. Singers are actors and vice versa. To make it big in the music industry you not only have to have talent, but a strong business sense, and your own clothing line, of course.
What is music? Music is a very broad word that can mean and reflect several and different points of view. I don’t know about you, but to my understanding music is freedom of speech in the expression of feelings and emotions. Depending on the type of music base on genre, everyone tends to listen towards what their heart desires. Within the different types of genre, there are artists and bands that explore these genres and paint their points of view on how to express it. Artists such as the Weekend and Romeo Santos are two of my favorite artists that I love to listen on a daily basis, but what makes these artists so special? Romeo Santos and the Weekend may have differences in language, but they have several similarities that stands out to me
Acting is the performing of a position or the role of a character for a temporary amount of time. Richard Yates’ Revolutionary Road, a tragic novel, challenges the preconceived notion that the 1950’s was a cheerful time where everyone had the perfect lifestyle in the Suburbs by introducing his readers to three distinct characters who are anything but pleased with their life. Yates proposes the idea of escape as a common thread in society of which everyone dreams, but no one can capture. Due to their desire to escape reality, April, Frank, and Helen turn to acting and role playing to change their personalities through hiding flaws, putting on a happy façade, and playing house.
Because musical theatre inspires people to be themselves, a person can learn how the process of an audition goes.
What made the final decision for the career you chose for yourself? Is it something you are passionate about doing? Was it the money? Well what if you could take an assessment test of your skills and see what career would be best for you? You don’t want to be stuck doing a job that you do not enjoy because you thought it paid well. After exploring two very different careers, it was interesting to see what I found. A Business Executive and an art therapist have very little in common.
Many of my friends pick their careers based on money and trade skills that they have. I am proficient in art and design, but didn’t feel like that was what I wanted to do for my career. Your career shapes a huge portion of your life. It is what you do every day, for a large portion of your life. It is what I have prepared for the past 12 or so years of my life. It is way more than just money or a skill. I wanted to do something unique, something interesting, something that would inspire me to be a better human, something that would make me feel, something that is challenging, something that helped others, and above all, something that was rewarding and made me feel fulfilled.
Music is a language spoken everywhere in the world. No matter where you are, it's the same twelve notes. People all over the world love listening to professional musicians, but those musicians have to start somewhere. Most musicians start in school. Many kids in school bands have the potential and skills to become a famous or professional musician but their bands are lacking in funds to help them grow as a musician.
Acting is an activity that entails an actor or actress adopting the role of a character in order to tell a story. The origin of acting dates back to sixth century BC and is thought by many to be found by a man named Thespis. While performing at a festival, Thespis shocked the audience by reciting the poetry he was sharing as if he were the character who the lines belonged to. He brought the character to life, something no one had ever seen before. Since then, acting has developed into an immense and complex discipline that has been taught over the course of many generations. Two acting teachers whose teachings have been revolutionary in the field of acting education are Konstantin Stanislavski and Lee Strasberg.
Personal statement Being able to connect with an audience through a performance has been something that has fascinated me from an early age. It interests me to see how an actor can make the audience amused and involved them in what they are watching, I have always wanted and inspired to be part of this. Drama has played a big part in my life and has also had a great influence on building my confidence, being able to act has helped me evolve as a person who is able to understand others in more depth. Through acting I have been able to express myself in many varied ways by playing various characters. The feeling of being part of something that is bursting with enthusiasm and energy gives me a profound level of achievement and I would love to be given the chance to be able to gain more knowledge and experience of the subject and advance in my own personal skills.
I enjoy band more than anything because, like film, music is an amazing way for people to express their emotions. Music was one of the few things that got me through high school. While it was difficult at times I enjoyed the challenge because it pushed me to go out of my comfort zone and helped me become a better and more confident leader. I have been taking care of my family for years but getting to go outside of my house and focus on something that will definitely benefit me later in life is a huge bonus to working on music throughout high
Without my family and my closest friends, I would not have the push to pursue my passion. Without them, the concept of music would cease to exist in my life. I plan to pick my career based on my talent, my personality, and what I really want to get out of a career. As a child, I was determined to become an artist when I grew up. I took lessons, entered contests, and I loved working with different utensils.
You shouldn’t look for another industry just because it seems popular or because your close friends are swapping careers. If someone tells your talent would better fit another industry, don’t just drop your career and follow their advice.
From the start of life we are taught not to lie. As life progresses we learn that honesty may not be the best policy. That is, if getting ahead in life is important. This idea is taught in many ways, one is by acting. Every time an actor/actress is on a set they portray a different character this is evidence that lying is fine as long as it is acting. Movies and plays support that maybe lying is not always bad. The thing is are the different or are they the same? Are we acting when we are lying? Or are we lying when we are acting?
The problem involved with music and the industry is hard to deny. Music in recent decades has been moved by the populace and up till recently for the benefit of society. The evolution of music is marvelous and has influenced our culture a great deal. Until people start to be more conscious of their choices in music the status quo will remain the prevalent factor.
You can become famous at almost anything. If you excel at anything then go for it. Chase after your dreams, don't just procrastinate for the rest of your life.
