In the last decade the rapid technological advances in E - Learning has been accompanied by changes in the teaching and learning of languages . Language classrooms are becoming increasingly the mixed system or blended learning that focuses on active learning. Active learning promotes the development process and improves autonomy, therefore, the quality of the learning experience. Blended Learning uses multiple methods of learning and guide, combining classroom teaching with online activities and using technology-based materials. The increasing uses of Information Communicative Technology (ICT) in Blended Learning have changed the focus of the teaching and learning of languages in a beneficial way and continue to do so with future technological innovations. First, ICT - and Internet in particular - offer English language learners the opportunity to use it meaningfully in authentic contexts. Internet provides a quick and easy access to the use of real and present materials in the English language, which is motivating for the student. These authentic materials include, for example, online newspapers, webcasts, podcasts and even video sharing websites like YouTube. Before , teachers of English language materials sought and taken to the classroom from real life , such as maps , collages , books, cd's, movies , dialogues, etc ; Now , they can ask students accessing such information online , helping them learn with modern materials in real time. Another motivating learning experience of English offered by ICT 's are chat rooms or virtual environments where students can practice not only the written applications , but also listen to conversations and practicing pronunciations , without fear of making mistakes. A second important benefit... ... middle of paper ... ... educational institutions in all sectors have an important role in supporting their teachers and their students about the meaningful use of ICT in the teaching and learning of English. In many places of Ecuador, in this case in Santa Elena Province the listening comprehension skill is difficult to develop because our mother tongue is Spanish and it can be interference´s factors that prevent the correct learning of it. However, we have to break these barriers, to find the best solutions and overcome this problem. Teachers know that English language actually is the language of the future so we will try to investigate more about it and its changes. Listening is one of the most important skills to learn any foreign language in the world and much more when it comes to the English language, so this project will improve and discover flaws in their learning and solve them.

We can definitely agree that technology has done a great job in helping language learning, but this is just the beginning of the age of technology-enhanced education. In the future, wireless networks, video-conferencing and other multimedia-enhanced communication
Teaching students a language that is foreign can really be challenging for students as well as for the teachers. The dynamic rule for implementing instructing in a diverse class to English-learners is to use resourceful life skills such as diligence, hard work and patience. There are also methods that are involved in teaching English as a second language that can be creative for the teacher, yet beneficial to the student. First building a strong foundation that is essential to English learners will promote the language acquisition process. To do this teacher’s should always start with preparation. Advance preparation is essential in order to provide necessary adaptations in content area instruction and to make content information accessible for second language lear...

Thanks to the ubiquitous nature of the internet in recent years, the world has become more connected each day. The increased use of the web on a daily basis has opened the doors for teachers to give their students the opportunity to connect with people around the globe without leaving their home country. The internet allows teachers to link their students with students of other cultures in distant countries by utilizing online communication tools. This kind of teaching method is called telecollaboration and has been employed using different formats in classes all over the globe with the aim of developing intercultural competence and foreign language skills, such as e-tandem, virtual online exchanges, collaborative online international learning, and many others. According to Helm (2009), telecollaboration is “an approach to intercultural learning that uses internet technology as a tool to facilitate intercultural communication between classes of learners in different countries.” Numerous studies have shown that telecollaboration has been one successful teaching method to assist foreign language learners in developing this combination of language skills and intercultural awareness (Belz, 2003; Chun, 2011;
To begin with, before anyone can develop an opinion as to whether technology is a useful tool in the classroom, one needs to understand that technology plays an important role in today’s world. However, the use or over-use of technology in educating young children in teaching literacy to young children is a much debated theory. There are many opinions regarding the positive influence technology can have as a useful tool in the classroom, yet there are those, like myself, who also see the negative aspect of too much technology.
This article addresses how children have mastered the art of technology from a very early age. The internet allows for faster learning than textbooks because it helps children choose an avenue of learning that suits them best. Research has proven that vocabulary expands at a quicker rate with the use of technology. This article provides information from a variety of news sources and a professional writer. Harsh Wardhan Dave is a media and communications specialist. Harsh Wardhan has a passion for finding the right blend of technology and creativity in his writings. This source is relevant to the thesis statement because it also validates that we need to make the most of technology and the internet while still providing a healthy balance as well as ensuring a safe environment so that we can provide our children the best of both worlds.
Blended learning is efficient, because professors can use one-on-one time, along with digital instruction. Teachers have additional time to give individualized instruction to those who need it, while students use adaptive learning technologies to comprehend new concepts. Teachers can help all students reach their maximum potential. When students do meet together in class, their time is often more high quality. Students also receive regular face-to-face times with instructors they might not in a traditional classroom.
In conclusion, technology has changed education for the better allowing access to unlimited resources, distance learning and broadening the means of communication. Technology creates a more encouraging environment and stimulates students to engage in something they may be familiar with. Technology has allowed people to know more and to collaborate with each other. Students have a great range of technologies which strengthens the relationship between knowledge and students. The technology used today throughout the world will only strengthen and advance the 21st century education system. With unlimited resources, students can take advantage of their learning and gain the most from it. Integrating technology into education promotes a better learning community.
Many people believe that the use of technology is harming a person’s education because it allows for easy access to abundance of information and tools. Nowadays, people rely increasingly more on the internet that there writing skills have perished drastically. Children don’t know the meaning of a word or the spelling. They don’t even know how to use grammar properly in their writing. I disagree with this because students need all this information to be easily accessible to strive in the advancements in their education. In the essay Technology and Education: Current and Future Trends, by Phillip Molebash, he states that “to prepare students to be lifelong learners requires a new approach to teaching, one in which students are taught how to learn on their own” (M...
Call in language teaching involves the use of computer technology to help in the process of presenting, reinforcing, and assessing learning materials that places emphasis on interactive elements. Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) involves the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in learning and teaching a second or foreign language ranging from research to course development. Many researchers have investigated the effectiveness of CALL in improving language skills and have found it to be very effective for both language learners and teachers (Warshauer and Healey, 1998). Some studies have indicated a recent increase in the integration of
ICT have become commonplace entities in all aspects of life. Across the past twenty years the use of ICT has fundamentally transformed the practices and procedures of nearly all forms of exertion within business and governance. Education is a very socially focused activity and quality education has traditionally been connected with strong teachers having high degrees of personal contact with learners. The use of ICT in education lends itself to more student-centred learning settings. But with the world moving swiftly into digital media and information, the role of ICT in education is becoming more and more essential and this importance will continue to grow and develop in the 21st century.
Students nowadays, are so focus on technology and how they can put their hands in technology. As a future teacher I believe that, the best way to capture my student’s attention is by providing them with tools that can motivate them to learn. With the use of technology, I may approach teaching differently by encouraging my students to use on-line resources. Using on-line resources, would be beneficial for the students, because they would be able to explore many on-line resources. The students would be encouraged to use the on-line materials, I as a teacher would encourage them to use. Such as Internet Workshops and WeQuests. As a future teacher I would want to use Internet workshops and WebQuests, because I would want to increase my student’s motivation to
- Advocate the applying of ICT as an integral part of the provision of quality education for all. They should advocate for the use of ICT in education as a key modern aid to teaching and learning;
With the advent of modern technology, a forceful impact of this technology has been observed in nearly all walks of modern day life. With the increasing access to these facilities, the lives of modern-day human beings have changed so dramatically that in many cases a reversal towards the old ways of life seems apparently impossible. Similar is the case with the process of education. In general the concept of e-learning has modified learning modes and behaviors to a much greater extent. It has...
