Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist.” The banning and censorship of books has been around since the time of the Roman Empire, Nazis also burned books unsympathetic to Hitler’s propaganda, and now, today, the banning and censoring of books is happening all over the world. Opponents believe that allowing readers to have access to controversial books will lead them into deviant lifestyles. However, How can you put an end to a problem if you don’t have the freedom to address it? Racism is a horrible part of history but we cannot erase it from the past. not only from experiencing this but reading about it and gaining knowledge about this problem sparked a drive and a passion to people to make a change, to start a civil rights movement and it can happen today.
