We all know the stories of Jesus. He walked with the weary. He broke bread with strangers. He gave hope to the hopeless. And He loved those who despised him. The list goes on and on. When we remember specifically Christ's sacrifice for us, there are different emotions that are apparent in his story. Grief, anger, and pain are a few. But there is also joy, triumph, and ultimately love. We are able to find rejuvenation in scripture and enjoy the Word. But that is not the whole picture, right? We all know that everything in life isn't just reading verses or pondering intellectual thoughts. “Life” isn't always “satisfying”. We find in churches in America today, a generation of people that includes those who are spiritually dead. We meet those who are spiritually restless, or bored, or simply “content” with the constant cycles and status quo. Church. Sermon. Sing. Go home. Is that really it? This spiritual “deadness” is also a reflection of people's lives. There are many who feel unsatisfied in their lives. This begs the question of why? Why, if we are Christians living in faith, are we feeling unsatisfied in our lives? It further leads to the question of “How do I achieve satisfaction as a Christian?”
Before I continue any further in my perspectives, I wish to acknowledge that I am not indisputable in my thoughts. I don't have all “the answers” and I don't claim to be “right” about everything I say. Quite frankly this issue I am speaking about is one that I still grapple with.
However in my studies and searching, I have found a few insights that I feel might be beneficial to those who would listen. My intent is to humbly share what I have found and let my words be of encouragement.
In answer to the first question, many believe that...

I hope we can consider the 28,000 people who will die today because of starvation and curable diseases. People who may have never heard of an amazing God who loves them. I hope that we can look at the world and see what we can do to make it better. For when our actions reflect our spirit, we will surely find satisfaction.
Matthew 28:18-19 “All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Crossway Bible, Matthew 29. 18-19)”
