My mission in life is to offer and provide quality Early Head start Education to children with Special needs. As a mother with a child with Autism there wasn’t any where to have him get childcare, I want to be that link. Helping parents during the struggle of finding out your child has the disabilities could be heart reaching I feel it is my mission to be that back bone for them. By learning the importance of the student’s character, it will assist me in learning how to assist them with what they can do on the level of their character.
I have been working in childcare/ preschool setting for the past 6 years and I have found my passion. Working with children it has allowed me to become better parent and educator because I have worked

By obtaining a Masters in Education with an emphasis in inclusion of the curriculum, along with the Leadership I will be able to utilize my Site Supervisor permit and advice in my chosen career. Working with children with different abilities has been a field of interest for the fact of my experience of working with individuals that are on the Autism Septum. I enjoy teaching and being with young children, by using the education of their character can build my understanding of why children think the way they do. Kelsey Morales explained “it’s much more philosophical, about the way you see yourself and the way you see society, and what it means to be a good person and make good choice” (Seider, 2012, p. 57). Society can make especially young person, feel they not a good person. So, that is why we must remind our students, that out character education needs to be understood, and intake the importance, as well the knowledge of how easy is so to make quick decisions. In working with families in the process of requesting services for their children, we are required to observe the children and documenting their behaviors. Response to the documentation we need to compare and develop a plan to introduce the character on a daily routine in the classroom. Character Education Partnership’s core principal of effective character education is that,” the school was a comprehensive, intentional, and proactive approach to character development., “(Seider, 2012, p. 233). Mu thoughts are that a person character is what creates their imagination, strive, and their life purpose. A person has positive and negative characters, that allow you to decide what is a good effort, or needed to improve effect. The main components of a person’s character are, moral, civic, and
I love to work with kids in the age group of 5 and under, as they are so innocent and curious. They interact with you and follow you as if you were one of the smartest person in the world. I believe that at this age children need a positive and enjoyable influence in their lives. I want to be that person
Character is often the setting stone on what a person is judged upon. For someone to have character, they must noticeably stand out, and do extraordinary tasks that a normal student would not usually do. From school activities to sports clubs, I myself carry unique characteristics that set me apart from other students.
Volunteering at a children’s crisis treatment facility, volunteering with Special Olympics, coaching children’s sports teams for 10 years and working as a substitute education assistant has increased my understanding of childhood development. Grandmound Elementary School provides me with opportunities to strengthen my leadership and collaboration skills, through teaching art (as a volunteer) to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and serving as PTA president. I was able to implement many enriching opportunities for students in areas of art, science, and reading. I learned to work as a team, set targets, achieve goals, give and receive guidance. Participating in these activities has confirmed that working with families and particularly children are my purpose.
Early childhood education, although constantly evolving, was actually established and practiced as early on as the times of Ancient Greece and Rome. The foundation that early childhood education is based upon is to instill in children the skills needed to succeed later on in life, while making sure young children enjoy their time in schooling. Throughout chapter 3 in the textbook Who Am I in the Lives of Children, the reader is capable of evaluating just how greatly the methods for teaching today’s youth have evolved and changed for the better.
To date, 18 states currently mandate character education in the Education Code; California is one of them (CEP, 2010). Additionally, of the 41 identified character education interventions listed on the U.S. Department of Education website, 28 have no studies meeting evidence standards, and ...
I have had several wonderful opportunities to work with children. At my school I enjoyed helping teach a young children's music class by playing songs for them, telling them about the violin, and helping them develop a love of beautiful music. I would enjoy continuing this as an adult. Last year I helped a kindergarten teacher in an underprivileged school, stapling papers and supervising children. I most enjoyed helping small groups learn the alphabet, supervising two children at a time as they tried to match the capital and lowercase letters and identify each letter.
Dr. Seuss wrote, “You’re off to great places. Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting. So get on your Way”. The role of the early childhood educator, while rewarding, can sometimes feel as is you are climbing a mountain. Educators have to consider how to implement curriculum, instruction, management, and technology in the classroom. Educators also have to provide an environment where all children feel safe and nurtured. When creating a course of action, educators have to consider their role as well as the role of the student, parent, and community.
While walking through the front gates of County elementary school, you see children of all ages playing while they wait for the school bell to ring. Walking to the classroom that I will be observing you see students with their parent’s line up waiting to get signed in. The students are to be signed in by a parent or guardian for safety precautions, and shows that the child was signed into school. As a visitor, I am to sign myself in, this shows I was in the classroom, at what time was I there, and reason for visiting the classroom.
Curriculum is the organized framework that explains the content that children are to learn, the processes through which children achieve the identified curricular goals, what teachers do to help children achieve these goals and the context in which teaching and learning occur. The best curriculum for early childhood teacher is developmentally appropriate curriculum that allows teachers to set-up an effective learning environment for children.
Behavioral expectations is a great part of learning, but at the same time behavioral expectations is a very ambiguous subject. Comprehensive character education addresses many tough issues in education while developing a positive school climate. Character education includes and complements a broad range of educational approaches such as whole child education, service learning, social-emotional learning, and civic education. All share a commitment to helping young people become
In this assessment I will be talking about the principles and philosophy of Frobel and Montessori, what they have in common and differences, there contributions to Siolta and my own thoughts in relation to early childhood education and their impact on the learning environment
My motivation is based on two things. Firstly, I really want to help other people as much as I can. The understanding of human behaviour is the key for me to help others improve their well-being. This made me start seeking for information and experiences beyond the university’s classes and books. There was 30 hours of supervised Clinical Child Psychology Practice, where I was shadowing a professional psychologist at an Educational Consultancy. I really liked my time there and I felt like I could not have chosen any other career. In 2014 I joined a foundation where we were developing autistic children’s social skills and perceptions with movements and exercises. In these months I saw different children with different disabilities. It was
The point here is to help people understand the difference between what is right and wrong, good and bad, and to use those “good” values throughout their lives. In schools using character education, intentional, proactive, and comprehensive approaches are used to follow the values of good character. The intentional and proactive approach try to develop character, and the comprehensive approach uses every feature of schooling. For example, it would use the environment in and surrounding the school to try and build character. It would also make sure that the bus driver for the school bus is in good standing.
Entering my kindergarten teaching experience in the last quarter of school year I had to quickly become familiar with kindergarten content standards and the school’s curriculum. To do this I observed my mentor teachers instructional time with the children and gained as much information as I could about the children’s educational standing by developing a professional relationship with the my mentor teacher and the children. I learned that the majority of my kindergarten children had not previously attended preschool and that this was their first year of school. I found that interacting with the children in social activities provided me with great insight to their literacy, math, science, and social studies development. In reviewing the children’s class projects, school displays, and an array of their work sample along with my mentor teachers year-long assessments I was able to recognize challenging, emerging and advanced content areas of the children’s core curriculum. These emerging and challenging content areas is what I centered my curriculum planning around. “Information about each child’s learning and development is used to evaluate teaching effectiveness. This may lead to changes in schedule, curriculum and teaching strategies, room set up, resources, and so on.” (Bredekamp and Copple, p. 249)
My goal of working with children is more general right now because I don’t want to be picky about where I end up. I don’t to decide right now that I would never work somewhere and then possibly end up missing out on a great opportunity to be involved with children and their families. Another goal of mine is to be able to positively impact those children that I will be working with. I most likely will be around those children for a majority of the day, so I want to be able to always be there for them. I want to be able to remember that they are most than scores and tests.
