How is it going in Driscoll world? I hope this email finds you well. I am faltered that you are requesting my advice for your new project. According to your email this is a time sensitive project that can be beneficial to your organizaiton. Here are my recommendations: Put your pride aside and consult with Alexssandra, asked her if she can be the team leader for this project and that you along with Kristen and her team will work along with her. Time is of the essence here, and a project of this magnitude needs experience. Kristen has only been in this manager's position for two months and until now has not proven herself. Working alongside Alexssandra she will be able to gain more experience that will prepare her for future projects. Besides that, two of her team members mostly likely will not be able to chip in. You are also concerned as to whether or not she will be able to handle such project. On the other hand, Alexessandra has the ability to communicate with both companies and I have a good feeling that if she were to negotiate for an extra week or so; Hybara would agree. …show more content…
After all, it’s the holiday and some of them had to sacrifice family time. Also, informed them that if the project deadline is met and you are satisfied with the results; you would not hesitate to give them the next project. You should also give recognition to them at the next team meeting. According to Hezbergh “People are motivated, Instead, by interesting work, challenge, and increasing responsibility. These intrinsic factors answer people's deep-seated need for growth and achievement. (2003)
In 2014 DaVita’s return on investment (ROI) ranked third highest in the industry (“DaVita 's ROI”, n.d.). The organization reported an average ROI of 4.96%, ROI has increased since 2012 (“DaVita 's ROI”, n.d.). Market share is a way to evaluate the portion of an industry held by an organization, a measure of performance relative to the competition (“Market share”, n.d.). In 2014 DaVita held a third of the global market share while their biggest competitor, Fresenius, had a five percent lead in market share. Experts believe DaVita has no reason to worry their shares “over the past year, DaVita has a 10% lead on Fresenius and that lead only increases at the two-year (roughly 60%), and five-year
By the end of the semester, the final project should be fully completed and completed to the best of the entire team’s ability. We should have been working together for enough time that we are able to understand each other’s thoughts and have no fear to voice our ideas and opinions. As a team, we should be nearing the adjourning stage, where we no longer need to work together because all of our work has been completed. This is most desirable stage because it means that as a team we have successfully accomplished everything that we had to do. In order to to achieve this stage of team development, there are some actions we can implement. One action we can do is creating a to do list of everything that needs to be done. If we create a list that tells us our exact tasks, we can check them off one by one until we have finished them all. Another action we can implement is putting someone in charge of the group. Having a leader who make sure the group is staying on task will help us get things done quicker. Using these actions, we will be able to reach the adjourning stage of team development and finish the project to the best of our
Up until this point, she was observing the team and allowing others to take the lead while she assessed the team. A new leader asserting authority can be beneficial in the state of uncertainty and low performance, especially when the team is dysfunctional. The expectations were now clearly stated. Also, the message that Kathryn sent was that she was committed to improving the team, and more importantly, she expected everyone else to be too. Kathryn was a successful team builder and knew she had to take the team out of their comfort zone to begin the true process of team building, knowing if this team had any chance at all all team members had to actively
This is because I am coming from a general place of respect for the people I work with as opposed to letting the position get to my head. The greatest challenge as a team leader will be having an answer for all of the questions that scarlet ambassadors will have, but at the end of the day no one can know the answer to everything and I have to accept that and ask for help from either any of the people in the office or a fellow team
Focus on Your Team- So often as a society, we only think about our own success that we will do anything to achieve it. Working in teams is often difficult since you are required to adjust to doing what’s best for the team as compared what is best for yourself. Reading the Earnest Shackleton case study was truly inspiring, for we saw how dedicated Earnest was to making sure his crew was happy and healthy. He would forgo food so his crew would be able to eat, and he spent time entertaining them so their spirits wouldn’t be diminished. This display of dedication and perseverance is what every leader should keep in mind when leading their teams. Nothing will be accomplished if you do not have a team who has the resources and support to be successful. Putting the teams needs before your own may be difficult, but it will be worth it in the
At the beginning I was really afraid to express my opinion about my team project, but all my team members are really friendly and willing to listen to my opinions. I really had good time while doing this project, as a communicator in my group, I made Google doc to let every member give their own opinions and that is also a good method to discuss our project online. Moreover, I designed the PowerPoint and provided lots of pictures to make our project wonderful. For our presentation, even though I felt so nervous and could not speak well on my presentation, my team members are really nice and encourage me a lot. For the team paper, I divided into four parts to discuss more details about our main points of the topic; at first I thought that it would be difficult to do this part, yet one of my team members used interesting way, Rock-paper-scissors, it is a fair way to do it, and every members are willing to do this. In short, I really enjoyed doing this project and had great time with all of my team
Another problem was that some members of the Lucky Ladies Social Club did not have dedication. Being a part of a nonprofit organization we are required to volunteer and raise money for the community and various organizations. I felt that some members procrastinate a...
The group should come up with a list of tasks that need to be completed to lead to project completion. Assign tasks amongst the group, with this idea in mind: tasks are one thing that can be done by one person, not a major responsibility or series of tasks that complete a goal. The tasks should be completed by everyone, then put together into a whole to meet the goal.
1. Christine’s leadership abilities could benefit by having knowledge of the stages of group development. Specific to her situation, it seems that aside from the very first group meeting, Mike was not present for the forming stage of the group. As a result, questions such as “What can the group offer me?”, “Can my needs be met and still contribute to the group”, and other discovery inquiries did not get answered for Mike so he has not felt part of the team so he has withdrawn from the group. As a leader, Christine could have encouraged to Mike the importance of being present for group meetings so he can be part of the team. For example, at the lunch room incident when Mike walked away, she could have talked with him individually and explained to him that she perceives that he does not feel welcome and has been avoiding team meetings. Christine could address the how important it is to attend the team meetings, explain to him the “WWIFM” (what’s in it for me) aspects and the fact that team needs him as he has so much that could contribute and add value to the team. She could also indicate that the team’s success will only be possible when every member contributes. By doing so, she can help ensure that Mike is able to join the group during the forming stage and hopefully move quickly to the norming and then performing stages.

Thanks to our project I was able to realize the mistakes I made that help impact my personality and what I would do next time. My group was able to efficiently work through this with hopefully flying colors even though there were some problems. The other groups in our class have also demonstrated what they can accomplish and were able to help me realize our mistakes. Now I am prepared and ready for my next project thanks to my group and the other groups in my
This may be a high risk in the approach of volunteer management and therefore it is important on how the leader overcomes it. The leader needs to find out why they couldn’t turn up-they may have a good reason for it. Carry on with work as schedules and explain the situation to the team and contribute even tasks to each of the members. The leader must carry on with confidence and intelligence providing the subordinates with an efficient leadership. Being indecisive and fail to command will cause the team to fall apart and lead to indiscipline. An excellent communication is therefore essential, as lack in communication will limit the team effectiveness. If one the team member is not certain of what the goals and responsibilities are, there can be a confusion of what is to be done. This will lead to inefficiencies such as duplicated work or having tasks incomplete. Leader must be aware and always ensure that the team members are on the right track and support their understanding of their responsibilities. Risk management is always important during the teamwork. This is a prominent issue as there is lot of demanding, complex work in the voluntary sector as volunteers are directly involved to the work. Volunteers need to consider the risk and be handled in the same way that paid staff positions do.
Use plural pronouns from the very first meeting on. Use the words “our” instead of “my,” “we” instead of “I,” and “us” instead of “me.” Leadership on a team is plural, not singular.
