Prologue “Everyone get into the pool!” Says billionaire Aiden Rayei of Rayei Industries. “Why?” Asks someone. “Just get in!” Aiden says. Everyone at Aiden’s party jumps in the pool. Trish Harris. James Smith. Adam Johnson. John Anderson. Aiden Rayei. Aiden is holding several oxygen masks containing enough liquid oxygen for over a week. He hands everyone who made it into the pool one of the masks, and they all put them on. Aiden takes the tablet from his hip and starts typing something. “We are the only ones who made it.” Adam looks confused, so Aiden types: “In a chemical explosion, everyone except us five were killed. We are the only ones left.” On one of the walls of the pool a door opens. Aiden signals for everyone to come …show more content…
It was larger than most, and it was completely isolated, and would not be a strategic spot to set up a military base. I went in to investigate and found that Iraq was building a chemical weapon with the potential to wipe out a planet three times the size of ours. They were building a missile. I hacked into one of the computers and saw the target: us. I came back home as fast as possible to try and warn the world, but nobody would listen. That’s why I planned this party. To get all of my friends in one place to hopefully save some people. I installed the set of doors, and built a secret room. That’s where we are right …show more content…
One of Aiden’s satellites has detected something in Iraq that looks like a military base. Aiden sits down at the computer at the desk to check it out. It is a military base in the middle of Iraq. Aiden is puzzled by it, as it is not a strategic place to put a military base. He monitors it for a several days. 3 days later, he picks up a signal that would come from a chemical weapon. The signal is massive, and Aiden goes over to Iraq to investigate. He gets into the facility and finds that the Iraqi are being very secretive about this operation, and the main facility is underground. Once he gets in, he finds a huge missile. There are many heavily armed patrols pacing the area, which is about the size of a massive aircraft hanger. At the center is a missile. The main components of the missile are now being assembled. “Get over here and help!” Says one of the workers. They install the main chemical container, which is about 15 feet long and 3 feet in diameter. It is a black liquid that looks as black as oil. “The world won’t know what will be coming.” Says a buff dude with scars across his face. “It’ll wipe everyone out so
Our boat sludged onward towards the team’s tent. The only sign of life came from our stroke seat who feverishly refreshed the results.
In the poem “The Double Play”, the author uses metaphors, words, and phrases to suggest turning a double play in baseball is like a dance. Some words throughout the poem could be used to connect the idea of a double play being like dancing. One word that could suggest this is, the word used “poised”, “Its flight to the running poised second baseman” (12). Poised in this sense could mean that the player knows what he is doing and has mastered the double play, while a dancer can be poised meaning light and graceful. Another word in this poem that relate to a double play and dancing is the term “pirouettes”, “Pirouettes / leaping, above the slide, to throw” (13-14). The player is described to be doing a pirouette in the double play while in the
Dramatic Monologues The dramatic monologue features a speaker talking to a silent listener about a dramatic event or experience. The use of this technique affords the reader an intimate knowledge of the speaker's changing thoughts and feelings. In a sense, the poet brings the reader inside the mind of the speaker. (Glenn Everett online) Like a sculpturer pressing clay to form a man, a writer can create a persona with words. Every stroke of his hand becomes his or her own style, slowly creating this stone image.

Justin and Jacob joined their water polo team the next day. They soon realized that their whole team, just like them had wanted
Emily was too scared to come in because it was cold, but after a while she finally decided to come in. We went out deep to swim where we could touch and I tried “drowning” myself, and Noah helped. It was really funny because Noah sat on my shoulders and I tried to stand up but I’m really weak so I just fell over. We went really deep where there was a sandbar that was shallow. So we wouldn’t get interrupted by his little
Skylar and I finished tying the boat down when Ryan came out of nowhere decked out in snorkeling gear.
They finally pulled in and Channing yelled “guys they’re finally here.” Avery jumped up and ran outside to give Sarah a big hug. Once everyone got to say hi and talk they all went to the pool and started having a lot of
As the chopper lifted into the air I took in the scenery of Mother Base; a clean, washed off collection of platforms that looked like an oil rig in the middle of the Afghan desert. Soldiers moved back and forth, tending to animals, practicing their aim, and keeping the area secure of infiltrators. Quiet wore a standard vest to blend in with the desert and to maximize the ammo she can hold. She slept in the helicopter’s seating area. In a few hours we arrived at the LZ, Ahab filled me in on the target we were infiltrating. The chopper arrived in the outskirts of the Russian base; the air was a slight breeze to the south. The terrain was rocky and rough, not as dune filled as the northern side of Afghanistan is, this made picking off targets easier. The desert stretched on for roughly 2 kilometers. Quiet leaped out of the chopper as it took off. I heard in my radio, “Be careful down there
Splash! A huge wave erupted from Lake Washington as Julian fell into the water. This happened during the summer of 2017 on the 18th of July. I was hanging out with my friends I had met at summer camp, Elijah, Radley, Kate, Julian, and Kayla. That day the group had decided that we should go down to my grandmother’s dock. Julian falling into Lake Washington was a shocking, but hilarious experience that my friends and I still make fun of to this day.
I let out a withered sigh, which caused me to choke in the middle of yet another sob. I had had enough. I weakly pulled myself out of the pool and walked to my towel. I grabbed the huge, orange and white stripped thing and wrapped it around my shivering body, hoping to find some warmth and comfort; but even my monstrous beach towel could not cut the chill I felt inside. I started to walk to the changing room past the hundred faces I knew nothing of, but by now were familiar. I had searched each face a hundred times hoping to see someone I knew. Finally, I realized that I knew none of them, and the person I was looking for just wasn't coming.
After that, I made my way to Aiden’s house, another friend. This time, someone actually answered, but it was only his father. My other friend, Nik, wasn't home either, probably at some restaurant. That sucked the big one. On the way back, I saw something sticking out of the sewer.
“Uhh we found nothing but dust.” replies Snowy as he looks around at the people “We where the only groups not to find
Davie’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she turned, running up the steps, and out of the water with me not trailing far behind. I watched as she approached the 3ft edge of the poolside and jumped into the water. I was about to do the same, when I heard my name called from the shaded picnic tables next to the pool.
I step into the water and suddenly get butterflies. I’ve always wanted to do this. It has been a dream of him for the longest time and Bea has always know this. Before the water gets too deep Beau hands me a pair of goggles and a snorkel. I put them on my face and dive into the water.
