Outside, I lay on a picnic table and look up at the blue sky at my campsite and wait for my friends to pick me up. I text them on my stupid LG asking where they are. Noah texted me back, “We are on our way”. So I go back inside my camper to see if I got everything, and I thought I got everything. Then I hear a car pull up and I grab my phone and bag and went outside.I got in their car and Noah’s mom greeted me. Then we took off to Lake Michigan! Me, Emily and Noah talked and were mostly on our phones taking hilarious pictures of each other. We made a group chat about it, and it happen like the whole car ride and we had to hide our faces from each other. We finally got out of the car and there we were at lake Michigan. We had to walk to our spot which was pretty far from the car park. Noah’s family had a spot already so we had to meet them there. When we got there me and Emily wanted to tan for a while and Noah wanted to go swimming. Me and Emily just laid down and Noah didn’t want to go swimming alone because that’s boring so he just laid down with us and we all tanned. …show more content…
Emily was too scared to come in because it was cold, but after a while she finally decided to come in. We went out deep to swim where we could touch and I tried “drowning” myself, and Noah helped. It was really funny because Noah sat on my shoulders and I tried to stand up but I’m really weak so I just fell over. We went really deep where there was a sandbar that was shallow. So we wouldn’t get interrupted by his little
Wisconsin Dells was better than Six Flags because my family stayed longer. We were in Wisconsin Dells for four days, but we were only at Six Flags for two days. Because we were in the Dells longer, my family was able to create more memories. Six Flags may have had more attractions inside the park itself, but I felt rushed and did not enjoy my time there as much. The length of time my family spent in Wisconsin also gave us the ability to experience the numerous attractions found outside of the park.
As my family piled into our car for our four-hour drive, I sincerely hoped my brothers wouldn’t ruin the best chance that we’ve had in a long time. They were already arguing about who got what video game, and were not making my mom and dad feel any better about going. We were going to Illinois, to Chicago, to be even more specific. Chicago was the city I’d been dreaming about visiting for a long time. (Well, that and New York.) I could not believe that my parents were getting out of their comfort zone and taking us to a big city.
Driving to a new place, I embraced the surrounding that I was witnessing for the first one. When I got out of the car the gravel crunched under my feet. My family and I walk up a long, skinny board walk approaching the front entrance. As I looked out the front windows all I could see was the beautiful view of Lake Travis. Walking out I saw rows of tables that had umbrellas on top. There was multiple different levels that you could sit at all looking out at the same mesmerizing view. Looking out over the lake I felt a sense of home.
I woke up at 8am, looked out my window and saw two large moving trucks. I sat up and looked around my room but could barely recognize it because it was filled with boxes. I was so sad and just wanted to crawl under my covers and stay there forever, but I put a fake smile on and helped my parents out. Many people had stopped by to say their goodbyes, it was very depressing and there was a lot of tears shed. The next day arrived before I knew it, our car was packed and we started the twenty hour drive to Nebraska. This was the longest and most depressing car ride of my life. My brother and I were miserable and my parents knew it wasn 't worth it to try to cheer us up. My pillow was soaked from tears and I had no idea what my future held. When we finally arrived in Nebraska I was extremely surprised, I didn 't see any corn; there was actually civilization. Twenty minutes after we arrived in Nebraska we pulled into the driveway of my newhouse and surprisingly I felt overjoyed to be at my new home. I then realised that maybe Nebraska wasn 't going to be so bad after
It was three in the morning and we just passed downtown Milwaukee. Our car was moving along in the direction of Charlotte, North Carolina. In the blink of an eye, I was asleep. When I awoke we were just exiting Illinois, we had been driving for three hours already. The ride ahead was 15 hours and I was bucked down in the far back of my mom's van. I was sprawled out all the way across the seat. I had the middle seat belt buckle around my waist and was under three blankets. The drive through Indiana and Ohio was extremely boring. All that was there
After we all put sunscreen on we started to head for the front gates of the park. As we got closer and closer i got more and more excited for the day ahead. After my dad gave everyone our tickets we went into the park. The first thing we did was to go up to the Top Thrill Dragster. But like always it was closed so my dad said “We will come back in a bit after we ride some
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
One of the first projects I partook in for my Entrepreneurship Marketing Finance class was a sales presentation regarding a specific city in Michigan. Students were to decide if they wanted to do the presentation alone, getting a mystery advantage, or have a partner. After pondering this, I chose to receive the advantage, and work alone, along with a handful of my peers. The advantage ended up being that we would be able to choose the city from an array of notecards with the names of famous cities in Michigan. In the end, I picked the city Petoskey Michigan. This vast city was new to me, but I decided the project would be more fun if I chose a city I was unfamiliar with. In addition, I was familiar with the history of the petoskey stone and hypothesised that this city had to be named after this stone. Others who worked with a partner had to blindly pick a card that had a city on it. Cities that were picked included Kalamazoo, Saugatuck, Charlevoix and South Haven.
It all started with a phone call from my great aunt, Aisha, telling my mother that they were going upstate for the day, and asking if I could come with. Since Mom and Dad happened to have the day off, they decided to make it a family affair. The drive up to Lake George was actually a ton of fun since all of us cousins sat in the back and played car games. When we finally got there, the adults checked into our hotel rooms and all the kids hit the pool. We all played
Three days later, my mom called and said she would be on her way to help pack the camper to move but my sister, Bryce, had to stay home for cheer. My dad had work the day she was on her way so I cleaned to camper most of that day, and took care of Wade’s dogs. When she was about 100 miles away from the town I was in she called me and we talked then she hung up and called me right back. I was wondering why she was calling me but I answered and it was MY SISTER! I was so excited because her birthday was two days later and I got to spend it with her.Eventually, they got there and I was so happy to see them. And that was the end of me being alone in
Michigan I - My interest in this seminar stems from my home, Chicago. As I live in the city of meat packaging and cultural mixing, I found interest in seeing how another city take on its evolution in different way than Chicago. Also in looking at Detroit, I am able to see my city in a different light.
This summer I decided to do Eastside volleyball club with Kelsey, Sophie, and Emily. My team decided to go to Wisconsin Dells for a volleyball tournament. We all stayed at a hotel with a great water park in it called Chula Vista, which isn't that popular but it was fun. Chula Vista was fun because they had many fun and big slides that I did with my team. Everyone also got to play volleyball in a big dome. I'm pretty sure everyone on our team had fun.
I put my head between my legs and sobbed. I stayed on that little raincloud until sunset. I watched from my cloud until it finally had no more water and I flew back to my mom. I landed back in Heaven and discovered all the angels were gathered.
When I went to Canada I was going into the 5th grade. I camped on a Yogi Bear site in Niagara Falls. We got to the campsite after a long and boring 9 hour car ride. When we got to the campsite at 10:00 PM my grandparents, brother, and I set up the tent really quick. Then we went to bed because we were very tired. The next morning my brother and I went to the pool. We made friends, some of them were French. Then we got ready for a boat trip on The Maid of the Mist. When we got on the boat, my poncho ripped. So my brother and I switched ponchos, I was dry and he was soaking wet. He was so mad that he is still mad to this day. After that, we walked around Niagara Falls and went to some arcades. I lost most of my prizes within five minutes of
Unfortunately, it was a dark and cold rainy day which made it difficult with the rain soaking our clothes and all of our equipment. But aside from that, the rain didn’t seem to bother me or anyone else for that matter. Instead we had a slight appreciation for the rain, as if it was mimicking the melancholy feeling that we felt. It always seemed as if our camping trip couldn’t come soon enough, and then when it finally did arrive it was as if it was gone too soon. As the rain started to pour down we loaded everything in the car as fast as we could and we gathered ourselves inside. We watched out the back window as we drove away from the campground, seeing it dissipate in the distance. On our ride home we all felt a little nostalgic and talked about favorite memories of the trip and what we’d do next year. The drive was about 3 hours away from our house and somewhere along the way I fell asleep on Alicia’s shoulder while listening to Taylor Swift. I remember feeling as if I was still drifting in the soft waves of the water, and the thought of that relaxed me into a peaceful sleep. When I finally arrived at home I rushed into the living room where my parents were waiting on the couch to hear all about the awesome experiences I had on my trip. After that I went into my room to call Alicia, and we stayed on the phone with each other while we marked our calendars together to begin the countdown for our camping trip next
