It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner, “Alana,” my father yelled up the stairs, “It’s for you. It’s Beau, and he sounds ecstatic.” As I came down the stairs to pick up the phone, I already knew what he wanted. It was 5 in the morning, the sun was still sleeping, and i was already up getting ready for the day. The call didn’t surprise me because he calls at the same time everyday like clockwork to remind me he is coming to pick me up. Thirty minutes later, Beau’s old red pickup truck pulled in our long driveway and he drove up to the house. I walk out the front door with my wetsuit half on and my bikini top on and make my way to his truck. We’ve been going to the beach almost every day so by now it’s routine. Beau hops …show more content…
The way the sun kisses my skin and the way the ocean makes my hair wavy. It’s still dark outside when we make the last turn pulling into the beach parking lot. Beau parks the car in our normal spot and we both get out. The sun wasn’t up yet but there was just enough light to see. He hands me my board, grabs his and we both walk to the sand. We pick a spot in the middle of the beach and set our stuff down. I grab my wax and beginning waxing my surfboard. Knowing Beau forgot his wax, I hand him mine. When the sun slowly comes up in the sky, it’s like everything around us stops and it’s just me, him, the sound of the waves hitting the shore. I glance at Beau as he ties up his long blonde hair into a bun. Ever since we were little kids he always put that same bun in his hair but it suits him. I do the same as him and pull my thick, brown hair into a messy bun. “Alana can you help zip up my wet?” Beau struggles to ask while he tries to zip it up by himself. I laugh and pull the zipper up and over his huge massive muscles. He returns the favor and just as if we were kids again. I yell “RACE YA!” and we grabbed our boards and we were off. We spent the rest of our day riding the waves and dreading what's to come …show more content…
I nod and he leads me outside in the back of the aquarium. The back of the aquarium was like a personal beach. It had white clean sand and the bluest water ever. Beau and i help each other put on our wetsuits, he winks at me then walks into the shallow water. I know there's marine life in the water because of the way the shadows reflect onto the water because of the light. I step into the water and suddenly get butterflies. I’ve always wanted to do this. It has been a dream of him for the longest time and Bea has always know this. Before the water gets too deep Beau hands me a pair of goggles and a snorkel. I put them on my face and dive into the water. I slowly start to make my way around the lagoon. The salt water fish swimming around in the moonlight are so graceful, swimming in their schools not letting me and Beau interrupt them. I dive down deeper to the bottom of the pool and i see the smaller creatures on the bottom such as starfish, shrimp ,and snails. I then look up and see a huge stingray majestically flip its fins and makes its way over me. Stingrays are definitely my favorite animal, they are so beautiful yet so dangerous. Every Once and a while i would turn around and see Beau enjoying messing with schools of fish. He makes me so happy and i couldn’t imagine my life without him. After we get done swimming around in the lagoon, we dry off and Beau hands me some clothes to wear. I run to the bathroom
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
I smiled to myself and decided that I would go join in. With that, I took a huge deep breath and jumped into the salty water. The water was cool and refreshing; I felt it slide through my hair making it sway in the water. I swam deeper and deeper into the deep blue water. Sunlight streamed through it, lighting up the water around me turning it to gold. I kicked harder and I felt my muscles surge with strength and I pushed further. My lunges began to burn for the need of oxygen, but I refused to go up. I repeatedly told myself just a little bit longer. Until I was unable to proceed anymore without more air in my lungs, I swam to the top of the water taking a huge breaths, filling my lungs with air. I could then taste the salty water as it ran down my face and dripped over my lips. Just then I thought, I will never forget this moment, this place, or the experiences I felt while visiting
Immediately, I angled my position and went for a dead sprint toward the water. I jumped off the cliff. I never felt anything like it; the trajectory had me flying through the air for longer than I expected. A surge of adrenaline pulsed through my body, bringing a new sense of life to me. The scorching heat went away as gravity pulled my body toward the water, bringing me a pleasant breeze through my fall. Then, I finally hit the water. I didn’t stick a solid landing, as I went head first into the water. I panicked and opened my eyes under the murky water, only to see nothing but dirt and sediments float around me. I kept sinking and saw a monstrous fish swim right in front of my face. At that very moment, my body went into overdrive, and I managed to project myself back up to the surface.
"Easy there, my friend." Percival set him down. "Wait for me to take off my cloak and tunic and drop my sword belt, then I'll acclimate you to the water slowly. Rushing in headfirst without a plan is never a good idea, in any circumstance."
Gazing out into the never ending waters, my sepia brown eyes frantically search down the coast as far as I can see for any evidence of the bloody battle which once took place here. Instead, I find nothing but blue water that sparkles under the blazing sun and soft sand that's embedded with small purple shells. I continue to stare at the shoreline in disbelief, watching murky waves slowly role in and lap against land which leaves white foamy residue in its wake.
Closer and closer to the calm water, I began sinking deeper in the sand. It was comforting, the silence, tranquility, and warmth of the faint sun. There is a slight breeze, warm, but cold and lonely. I could smell the scent of fish blowing through my hair and body. The sun was still fading, slowly but surely the day was almost over. About half of it is gone now. I could see shades of blue, red, purple, and pinkish-yellow. They were mixed with puffy clouds that lined the beginning of the sky and the end of the water. I noticed the darker shades on the bottom of the lower clouds.
Making my way down the side of the house, I climb over and around the never ending rugged and giant rocks on which the house is built on. As I carefully walk closer to the water, I feel the power of the water as the wind from the waves blow through my being like a breath from God. Looking down, all around me are numerous tide pools filled with various seal life such as sea urchins, anemones, star fish, and even different kinds of fish. The excitement of picking up a star fish, feeling the billions of tentacles latching on to my skin, is a memory I can never forget. After I have my fair share of climbing the rocks, my family and I walk around the close-knit community. Along the streets there is foliage abound, and in that are blackberry bushes. We always pick them and savor their sweet flavor, but do not appreciate the red stains on our hands and fingers. Along the way, we spot additional deer hiding in the brush or roaming the open grass. We head back to the house as the sun begins to set, glistening over the water as the sky turns red and
I immediately went all the way under, to get all the sweat and bugs off. As we started down the river, I realized why the locals kept this a low-key attraction; it was incredibly peaceful. All I thought about was how amazing it was, the loud buzzing of the insects sounding in my head. We climbed over massive rocks and fallen tree trunks, laughing when someone would trip and splash into the water. I was in my element, consumed by the beauty and new
The nice shiny, sparkling hot sand, gazing out to the nice clear ocean. With a nice bright shining sun with a nice blue sky hovering the ocean water.OMG have you ever gone to a beach house and you or your dad found something , surprising but when you ask if you can use it but they say no.Well that is what happened in my story.
The dull light of the sun somehow manages to kindle my senses in a way I had never seen or felt before. Everything felt like it came to a standstill and the effect of the light made the scene look like one in a painting. The waves break gently into white foam on the black beach. The small crystals in the sand glimmer and twinkle brilliantly against the sunrays. The seagulls ride with the wind and the soft sand cushions my toes.
The sun is radiant and scorching, as always when it’s August in Michigan, while the lake water is warm with occasional ripples flowing through as the wind subtly blows over. I’ve got my giant pink floaty around my waist with my ridiculously large bug-eyed sunglasses around my face and I’m ready to set myself afloat into the water. As I float on my raft into the warm water I close my eyes while the waves relax me into a soft slumber as I drift into the middle of lake. Without knowing how much time has passed, I awaken to the sound of Alicia’s mom yelling my name and automatically panic,
I felt very manly. He and I went to the park to see what we could do there.
A few hours later, we woke up for the Fourth of July, so we wanted to spend it at their house because of the pool. When the pool opened, we got ready and walked over to it. As soon as I starte...
About two years ago; we were in the keys on the southern tip on Florida, and had just boarded a fairly homely dive boat for my first ocean dive ever. My Father and I had been planning this trip for months, and today was the day it would happen. As the sound of the motors choking to start came into my ears, and the smell of the gasoline seeped into my nostrils I imagined where we were going to be in an hour. We both glared at each other every few minutes as we scurried around the deck of the boat. The boat was cluttered with Scuba cylinders, Buoyancy Compensators, Regulators, dive lights, and my wetsuit, which I had just picked up.
A few days later we went back to the lake with my father and two brothers. We fished for about an hour or two together and then went swimming again. Later the same day, he came over to the house to hang out and basically spent the entire day together. From the...
