Everyone has been lied to at some point in their life whether it was from another half, a friend, a family member, or a person they just met. It doesn’t feel too great when someone finds out they’re being lied to. That being said, honesty is very important to everyone as it can ruin relationships between anyone. With honesty comes respect and one will only respect another through trust. Honesty is also very important because it is appreciated by whoever receives it even though it may hurt to hear it. The truth can hurt a person's feelings but a lie will destroy a person's trust, their respect, and their personal connection. He did not win presidency through the popular votes but through the electoral college vote (Kalb, 2017). One example is through his statement, “I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally” (Kalb, 2017). However, there is no significant evidence proving voter fraud (Kalb, 2017). I believe he did this to make himself feel better because he didn’t win the popular vote but wished he did. Perseverance is a very important virtue to become successful (Campbell, n.d). The workers on the plantations pushed themselves so much just to get the job done even though the working conditions were horrible. In addition the workers that were subjected to slave labor learn to appreciate things further in life because of where they were during the time of the plantations.
