Lying may offer immediate relief from the consequences we face, but it also causes other problems. It can harm one's state of mind and life, hurt relationships and destroy the trust between people. Lying is always the quick fix to problems or uncomfortable situations. When lying, not only are you lying to the person you are trying to deceive, you are also lying to yourself, but your morals and values as well. In a world where lies are commonplace and truths are obscured, it can have a toll on someone's state of mind and thinking. In this case Christopher is left with betrayal,confusion, and is hurt.overall. Trust is the main foundation of any sort of relationship, but is easily manipulated. It's always best to address than not as it tends to leave one in emotional stress and questioning of one's judgment. Delving deeper, Lying not only puts you in a chaotic state of mind, it also loses the value of a relationship being dishonest, typically the case why one another loses touch. When Christopher was snooping around his dads bedroom he came across a box like item that contained letters his mom had been sending him overtime, he then discovered that his father had lied to him about the fate of his mother, his world turned upside down and he wanted nothing to do with his father. This betrayal of his father led to Christopher making the choice of setting a new journey into finding his mother, which he eventually did in fact find. Upon finding his mother, authorities intervened as he was “missing” and asked if he wanted to stay with his mother or father. The betrayal can lead to feelings of disappointment, insecurity and also distancing away from the person telling the lie, but can also require a mass amount of effort to renew that relationship.Ultimately lying jeopardizes a quote on quote Unbreakable parent bond and mass love for one another. The consequences of lying go far beyond the initial deception. We live in a world where truth is a rarity. Every lie is two lies: the lie we tell others and the lie we tell ourselves to justify it. I remember being in my English class in the 10th grade. It was a very troubling year for me as I had always been distraught about the subject as I tend to not be a good writer or thinker. It was this very assignment that I had gone into a frenzy/frantic mode. I had forgotten that this was a big assignment worth a chunk of my grade. That's when I went into full panic mode.
