Do you think lying is justified ? Lying is both good and bad depending on the lie you tell in my opinion . People lie from ,” I love your dress! Where did you get it ? “ , to “ I had nothing to do with the murder” . There are many types of lies , that is why i strongly believe lying has both pros and cons because people don’t always lie with the intentions to hurt people . Lying can also go either way , sometimes you lie to protect someone but in the end you end up hurting them more than if you would've just told them the truth . First , lying is okay in certain situations when you want to avoid hurting someone's feelings. Some people lie not to hurt people but to try and protect their feelings . There are people for lie for good but you can’t hide the fact that people lie for bad things as well . For example when you tell someone they look ugly when you know they put in all their effort into looking nice . That is just being rude and you should not do it . Another example would be if you stole something from someone and the person asks you if you know something and you say no or blame someone else . Lying for that reason is selfish and no where near acceptable . According to the article ,” The U.S. Political Campaign : Lies , Lies , Lies, “ paragraph 5 it states , “ These lies are the lies people fear and resent the most , statement that will not only trick them into foolish or ruinous courses of behavior …show more content…
I completely disagree with him. In my opinion lying is part of life and needed on a daily basis . For example sometimes you feel somewhat sick but you want to go out so you lie to your mom saying it’s nothing when really it is . Another example would be if your mom made something new for dinner and it is not very good you lie and tell her it is but in reality you feel like spitting it out . If you tell her the truth you are obviously going to hurt her feelings . Although you may say you “never” lie the chances are that you really do , you just do not notice
With different views on when it is OK to lie, the people continue to debate. But personally, I respect Kant’s views on the idea that lying is bad. Lying weakens the purpose to serve justice, destroys the liars’s dignity, and messes up the records. But I think that rare situations justify lies. I believe lies to save someone's life or just to protect someone from a big danger is the only type of lie that is justified. Those situations are the only times I think it is OK to lie. It might seem that lying to get yourself out of trouble is a situation that makes the lie justified. But I think that is a selfish reason for your own good and that people are thinking less about the society and more about their own good. Lying to get out of trouble is one of those many lies that are not justified.
The only thing that differentiates a good lie from a bad lie is their reason and outcome. A good lie may be used to protect feelings and even go as far as to save a life which relates to the
People tend to lie in everyday conversations to look and feel more likable. What if the truth could set you free, help make friends, or even be a part of a life long friendship? The argument usually brought up is, "Is it always best to tell the truth no matter the consequences?" I've been in certain situations were lies have caught up with me. That is to say, there isn't one way out of a lie, and you usually have to admit the truth one way or another. Some people think that lying isn't a big deal as long as they are small (white lies), but with enough of them you will be caught in the middle with no way out. You will be trapped in your lies, and don't ever think more lies will fix it! Lying isn't a good habit, and could trap you from a world of justice and incorruptible friends.
It is okay to lie to someone, if the intention of the lie is to protect that person.
In society, some people are looked at as liars or “bullshitters,” as stated in the article, “Is Lying Bad for Us?” Honesty is not always the best policy, and in certain situations, liars are best not to tell the truth when protecting the innocent, or protecting oneself. Because of this, lying should be looked at as a standard in society and something that people recognize in every day life.
Imagine this! You and your friend are about to go to a party. However, your friend isn’t dressed up so satisfying. They ask you, “ Do I look good?” What would you say? I firmly believe that lying is unacceptable in our society.
Some people think lying is okay, others think it’s not. However, those who think all lying is not okay are being hypocritical. Everyone has lied at least once in their life. Lies in general are a part of daily life. Many people lie for various reasons. One of the most common reasons is to protect someone. There are also lies used to cause harm and lies in the interest of the liar. All in all, many people agree that lying is sometimes acceptable when protecting someone from emotional, physical, and mental harm.
People perceive lying to be harmful but it is sometimes acceptable. Lying can be classified in one of three ways. There are lies to protect others, lie in interest of the liar, or lies to cause harm. As long as the lie doesn’t cause harm, it is acceptable. This would include lying to protect others and, in some cases, a lie in interest of the liar.

My final reason is that lying can get people out of trouble. Some people may be doing something bad like going to someone's house and you say that you took the car to wash it. So these are my reasons why i believe that lying is always okay.
Telling the truth teaches one person self- respect for themselves and others as well. Telling the truth also sets a good example for others to do the same thing and make a “chain reaction”. People can make a “chain reaction” by passing on what they have done from one person to another, and before you know it, everyone is changing greatly, and the world is progressing tremendously. Lies are told all around the world, and they are told every day. One lie can often lead to another lie and cause you to be caught up in one big lie that will be hard to get out of if people do not tell the truth. If a person thinks that is okay to lie, they better think again, the truth always comes out no matter how hard a person tries to keep it in, or how much someone thinks that they can get away with lying. No person can keep in or hold a grudge with what they have done. After all, telling the truth is the right thing to do, and everyone should do it. Telling the truth is always much easier than the trouble of a
Can you remember the last time someone lied to you? Or how about the last time you lied to someone else? Did you ever stop and ask yourself why? There are so many different reasons that a person might lie. Maybe a lie about something to keep oneself out of trouble, or even a lie to impress other people. But either way there are always going to be serious consequences or effects of lying.
In certain circumstances and situations, I truly believe it is ok to lie. Initially, it is extremely beneficial to lie, rather than hurt the feelings of a loved one. Equally important, if you are trying to protect someone from getting impaired, it is okay to lie in order to keep them safe. Last but not least, exaggerations can help boost people’s self-esteem by making them exceptional. William Blake once said “A truth that's told with bad intent beats all the lies you can invent.” I urge you to question if honesty is really the best route, or is it okay to lie sometimes.
In my opinion, lying is not okay because it is by far, the main thing to start rumors… also known as drama. Every time you lie, someone passes it on and it eventually starts something bigger than you had planned. Immanuel Kant states in his article,”... it harms the liar himself…” Kant believes that lying will harm yourself.
Lying is Bad Some people think that it is permissible to tell a lie because they want to protect vulnerable people feelings while others think it is not necessary to tell a lie. Their need to tell a lot to take care of other’s emotions. There are a couple of examples to show why lying is okay.
