Over the past 10 weeks, I have worked at Deloitte & Touche, LLP as an Audit Intern. Overall the internship was an important learning experience and invaluable in my professional development. I was able to gain real work experience in audit and network with numerous people at varied stages in their careers. There were many Deloitte-sponsored intern events in addition to the regular daily work I performed on my three engagements.
At the beginning of the internship, each intern was required to compile a list of goals they hoped to accomplish throughout the internship. We were given four categories to consider. The first area was Leadership Effectiveness. My goals here were: be focused and committed to the engagement and willing to overcome obstacles;

Each intern was provided a board of Deloitte professionals which included an Onboarding Advisor (first year), a Counselor (manager with about 5 years of experience), and an Advisor (a partner with the firm). There were several Deloitte-sponsored dinners and lunches for the purpose of keeping in touch with these individuals throughout the internship. We were also encouraged to communicate with our counselors outside of scheduled events to ask questions and discuss our progress throughout the internship. I had a wonderful time listening to other peoples’ experiences, whether from fellow interns, staff within their first few years, or professionals who had spent their entire careers with Deloitte.
In addition to those events involving fantastic food and good company, there were events such as a Houston Rockets game, a Super Bowl party at a partner’s house, a Junior Achievement community service project, and presentations on various career-related topics. The Junior Achievement event was very interesting and enjoyable. We were able to go into a classroom and interact with students to tell them about our experiences as interns at Deloitte and as college students. We also had activities to help them learn about simple aspects of business, education, and their

I was able to assist the team with a variety of different tasks, but I feel I could have done better when asking questions. Early on, I did not write down lists of questions to ask all at once but would just ask questions as they came up. Everything was entirely new, but I struggled more than I should have to complete assignments in a timely manner. However, I was able to learn and make improvements by the end of the engagement.
The team at NET was hard-working, but I never felt like part of the team. I was mostly given simple tasks that did not require much time. The team struggled to keep me busy and was not able to devote time to training me on the “why” of the work papers I helped prep. They seemed to approach my time on the engagement as a burden to them and did not seem willing to trust me with learning on the
Apart from the experience I have gained at LT Security Inc., my various internship positions have also exposed me to eye-opening responsibilities. For example, as a marketing intern at MySelf New York, I engaged in organized discussions with customers as well as colleagues in the pursuit of better promotional and marketing strategies. I have also gained experience with other matters such as employee coaching and assistance, employee relations, communication and implementation of policies and procedures during my time at Stony Brook University as intern in arts management and at Yunnan Changji Real Estate Co. Ltd where I served as an administrative
In the months preceding the start of my Federal Tax internship with KPMG, LLP this past summer, I had mixed expectations not only about the potentially difficult work I would be asked to complete, but also about how I would fit in at such a big and prestigious accounting firm with my limited experience and knowledge. In anticipation of my summer at KPMG, I would find myself searching the Internet for articles and forums with helpful advice for new coming “Big-Four” accounting interns and brushing up on some potentially helpful excel formulas. But, as my start date grew nearer, my nerves were progressively replaced with excitement and an eagerness to learn.
Goal attainment: Leadership involves goal attainment. It includes attention to goals and directs a group of individuals towards accomplishing a defined task or goal.
In conclusion, I have learned to work more exemplary with a team in various ways. To begin, I have learned how to combine forces and communicate, as well as work with other individuals. Secondly, teamwork helped me become a thriving leader. Last but not least, sportsmanship, like teamwork, inspired me to put in additional time and sweat to get incredible results. Brian Tracy once aptly stated “Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for you to reach the heights of your capabilities or make the money that you want without becoming very good at it.”
Leadership is necessary for a group to accomplish goals. Leadership according to Lamberton and Minor (2014), is the ability to impact people to attain a goal. A leader according to Gaiter (2013), sets direction and influences others to accomplish goals and directs cohesiveness. A leaders’ goal is not just the success of the team but, also the success of individuals on the team, a leader must motivate, inspire and empower others for success (Gaiter, 2013). To accomplish these goals a leader will utilize a leadership style.
This reflection paper is divided into five main sections. The first section gives a general introduction of internship that I was doing during my internship period. The second section provides an overview of the internship practice and tasks that I was assigned to do. The third section is about the office technologies I used during the internship. The fourth section is about the benefits of the RCBC Paralegal Program courses taken as applied to the work that I performed. 5) Worked with a newly hired event coordinator to improve company productivity by scheduling a staff person to help with clean up duty. Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students in today’s world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main purpose of the internship is for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they are highly interested in it really helps them get a bigger picture of the outside world.
This memo is to introduce myself as a viable candidate to the Wynn Internship position at Wynn Las Vegas.

To begin, the focus should be on the benefits of students who have the ability to deliver a unique outlook and perhaps improved or enhanced business ideas. Especially with today’s modern technology, interns are able to bring ideas that may help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company practices through the use of t...
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support.
Name everything from who is involved to what, where, when and why you want to accomplish the goal. Your goal must be clear and well defined. Generalized goals are unhelpful because they don’t provide sufficient direction. Remember, you need the goals to show you the way.
