Dear 6th grader,
Don’t be embarrassed when you fall down the stairs because we all have done that. Don’t be scared or nervous about the bell, tardies or getting to your classes on time. The teachers are really nice and will help you with homework and finding your classes. Mrs. Daniels was my favorite teacher in 6th grade she helps you with homework and getting to your class on time.
My favorite part of 6th grade was Renaissance Day. On Renaissance Day if you were a gold card which means you have no detentions, no last work, no in school suspensions, no out of school suspensions, and no monday school then you get to get out of school and gone on a trip all day long. If you are a black card which means you have no in school suspensions and
no out of school suspensions, no more than 1 detention or 1 late, and 1 to 2 tardies than you will watch a movie and have a pizza party in the PAC. If you are a white card which means you have no in school suspension and no out of school suspension, no more than 2 late assignments and no more than 1 detention, and no more than 1 to 3 tardies then you get to go outside or do something for one hour. My least favorite part of sixth grade was the homework. You can forget you homework and get a late assignment. I was always scared that I was going to forget to do my homework and get a late and not be a gold card. There is going to be a vocab sheet in language every week and a reading log to, you have to read 100 minutes every week, but don’t worry the homework is really easy. Something I wish that someone would have told me about middle school is that all of the vocab answers are on a website called quizlet. I would always get stuck on a word on the vocab sheet and would have to look it up later. I would always wait to the last minute to do my vocab. Make sure that when you have a vocab sheet to get on quizlet because the answers are right there on the screen. Some advice for how to get along with Mrs.Daniels is always get your work done, don’t give her an attitude, and most important don’t roll your eyes at her other than that Mrs.Daniels is a really nice teacher. Some advice for Mrs.Brown is don’t say shut up in her class, don’t give her attitude, don’t talk while she is talking, and get your work done. Coach Coalhour is going to be your gym teacher some advice is don’t say that you can’t do something, don’t mess with the equipment before class, listen when he is talking, and don’t mess with the radio. Mrs.O’Brien is your art teacher if you have her some advice is don’t talk while she is talking, don’t talk too loud, and don’t mess around in her class. I know that the first day of middle school is scary, but if you need help ask a teacher or a seventh grade because not all of us are mean. Make sure to get your work done and to get to class on time. Try your best to be a good student and a good classmate don’t mess around in class. The first day of school can be scary, but don’t be scared or nervous because you will be fine. When I got to 6th grade we did a lot more of switching classes which was sort of confusing, I got used to it pretty quickly. My 6th grade teacher was kinda mean, probably because I didn’t do that well on the English jingles. We started a day where we went into the library and read for a class period. I also started reading bigger books, because we needed more AR points, which are earned after reading the book and taking the test on it. I really liked the “Bone” series. Another series I liked was the “Percy Jackson” series.
“Education is not the preparation for life; education is life itself.” - John Dewey. Every year, as we enter a new grade, new challenges approach us. Eighth grade is no exception., and will be very different from 7th grade. As I enter my eighth grade school year, I will be bombarded with a variety of new experiences and challenges such as buddies, academics, and being prepared for high school. One of the most important tasks that is thrust onto me is buddies.
Mary Wollstonecraft, a women’s rights advocate in the year 1792 summed it up perfectly when she said, “I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.” She is describing the fight within every woman in the Feminist Movement that began in the 1700’s and extended throughout the late 20th century. This powerful motion was a drive to address the debated issues of reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. As time has passed, feminists have pushed extremely hard to gain equal rights and respect from their male counterparts. Unfortunately in today’s world, society still puts an emphasis on a women’s exterior beauty. They emphasize it in magazines, television commercials, and even the infamous beauty pageant. The industry of beauty pageants is growing rapidly, jeopardizing the continuous work of many women’s rights advocates, throwing away the continuing efforts for equal rights (Miss America, 2011).
Section E was the best group and we enjoyed every class together. I had Mrs. Zambetti. Mrs. Prisco, Mr. Perrotti, Mr. Justave, and Mrs. Rosiak who were all the most wonderful teachers. I’ll never forget Egypt Day when Shealyn and I made an amazing diorama of the Nile River, dressed up as Egyptians in togas, and put eyeliner on all the girls, even Dominick who could not get it off and had to keep it on for the rest of the day. It was so funny! Mediterranean Day was also very fun as we ate all types of Mediterranean foods such as humus, pita bread, grapes, baklava, and more. Of course our Athens vs. Sparta field day competition was full of fun as we raced each other around the pond and played various games. Sixth grade was a yet another great year and one that I really
“Perfection- a disposition to regard anything short of perfection as unacceptable; especially the setting of unrealistically demanding goals accompanied by a disposition to regard failure to achieve them as unacceptable and a sign of personal worthlessness.” Medical Definition from Merriam-Webster.
Primary Research To arrive at my final conclusions and recommendations, I did primary research to get information and data from the attendees of the church. My first primary research was a survey of church members done through Google Forms where they answered a set of multiple choice questions. The purpose of the first portion of the primary research was to clearly establish that Our Lady of Vietnam Parish lacks sufficient seats for all of its attendees, and that the lack of seating is a pressing, concerning issue that needs to be fixed for members in the future. The survey was done before and after Sunday Mass, and the questions asked were designed to gain information on the demographics of the church and to get opinions on the seats. For
High school senior students have the most difficult year then other grade levels since they have activities and the mandatory senior paper. Do you think that students in high school have as much fun as they tell their parents when they get home at the end of the day? High school has been known as “hell” to many students from freshman to seniors in high school. Students don’t tell their parents as much as they should now, then before the twenty first century. Since the tennagers wont tell their parents, most all of high school students struggle to keep their grades up during their senior year. The senior papers should be tampered with throughout all high schools because this transaction would let seniors deal with less stress, and less
Introduction – This is a very tricky assignment. I know the grade I want but it’s a little harder to say what grade I deserve. The word deserves sounds like more like entitled so the question for me would be what grade have I earned. To measure what you have earned you must examine the amount of effort that was given. So, the following behaviors are demonstrations of the effort I put into the grade I get in the class.
A third great experience from sixth grade was the sixth grade fun night. Everyone in sixth grade stayed after school and did fun things like play dodgeball, basketball, and capture the flag. There was also pizza! At the end, everyone had a dance party and we did a dance battle. Each team danced and in the end, the blue team (my team) won. Everyone on the blue team received a candy cane for their victory.
The teacher was happy and cheerful to all the students. She never had to yell at the students for doing wrong or doing badly on work. She gave praise to the students for doing well. Even when the students got off track from the question she ask. She would just say that was interesting and go back to the question she started with. All the students were exited to answer question with their hands swing in the air. When I first got to the classroom the desks were in groups and later were moved into rows. To cut down on some of the talking between the students. All eyes were on the teacher when she talked waiting in anticipation. The class was well organized and everything was in placed. The students had their own lockers in the classroom. They had time before class started and before lunch to get out what they might need for the day. The teacher keeps control of the classroom. They also had a set time for the subjects everyday. The main emphases of the classroom were on reading, writing, and math. All homework assignments were written on the board for all the students know what is do the next day. Students had homework folders to take home, so their parents know how their child was doing in school and had to sign the folder and return it.
Highschool is not like the movies show it. Jocks are not always bullies, books are not slapped out of people’s hands on a daily basis, and getting A’s does not make someone a nerd. It is some of the most important years an individuals life. Highschool most of the time determines someones appearance to the world until they are an adult. If you do something amazing in highschool many people will remember you for it. The same thing goes for doing something with serious consiquences as well. Highschool is a tornado that consists of friendships, sports/clubs, and what one will do with their life after highschool.
The teachers of the school were very supportive, I loved them all. Being at school is very good in terms of dealing with different people. We were exposed very early to this world; where there are different attitudes and beliefs. I think having teachers with totally different minds has a role in our social intelligence development. I learned how to deal with people even if their beliefs, thoughts and styles do not meet mine.
I thought that the teachers did a nice job with their classroom set up. I felt like I could have kept myself busy all day just by looking at the walls and seeing the pictures of presidents and famous historic quotes by famous people of our nations past. One thing I really enjoyed was the time the teachers allotted me at the end of each class to reflect to the class. Not only throughout my past middle school, and high school experiences but also, and most importantly, my current college experiences, the temptations that I have had to endure have definitely been rewarding.
The summer after fifth grade was a big summer for me. I felt all powerful since I would be entering the Middle School in three months. I had no idea that not everyone felt that I knew everything in the world.
The first day of class was absolutely not that bad as I thought it would be. The time that I picked was great its not to last but its not too early. It s just the right time to get to class. The classroom was as scorching like the desert. It is very hot in the class. It makes write in the class hard to do but that is something I guess I just have to deal with. Just like Columbia is around this time of year. The class also seems to have some interesting people in the class. There was a lot of dance and film majors there so I consider were bound to here some intense story’s.
