Dear Drexel University College of Medicine Admissions Committee, My name is Chynna Seck, and I am a student in the Drexel Pathway to Medical School (DPMS) program for the 2023-2034 academic term. I have been so fortunate to be a part of this program and this brilliant cohort. As a DPMS student, I learned how to trust in my potential and push myself to become a student who takes pride in my progress and ability to see past my challenges and setbacks. I am forever thankful to DPMS and Drexel University for creating this safe place and investing in myself and other students alike. Throughout my struggles, externally and internally, I was able to lean on my DPMS leaders, professors, mentors, and other students to continue to push through and prove that I was the student they believed was worthy of investment …show more content…
I learned about the topics and subjects that I lacked knowledge and confidence in and was even able to teach others in my study group. When it was time to take the exam in March, I was confident in my ability to meet the requirements. I believe that the tools and strategies I gained as a DPMS student prepared me significantly for future standardized tests that I will encounter as a medical student and provider. With the myriad of practice exams and questions for both my graduate courses and the MCAT, I am confident in my ability to apply my knowledge effectively and make important connections between what I studied and what is being asked. I learned how to manage my time significantly when taking exams, while also maintaining the immense focus needed to sustain the long testing hours. The Drexel independent learning format also helped me strengthen my ability to digest challenging information, break it down to my level of understanding, identify the gaps in knowledge, and seek other materials and resources to close those gaps and
From 1754-1763, Britain fought the French and Indian war. Although Britain had won the war, they still had a lot of war debts to pay off. Britain turned to the colonies to pay off their debts by taxing them. The taxes angered the colonists because they believed it violated their rights. Benjamin Franklin had initially proposed the Albany plan of Union to unite the colonies, however this law was rejected by all of the colonial governments. It wasn't until after all of the British laws and taxes that the colonies would unite and write the Declaration of Independence.
I am excited to be submitting my application to Georgetown University School of Medicine, as this school’s mission and values reflect my own beliefs on the role of a physician. I believe that there is no fixed template to healthcare; medicine and health will vary across time, regions, and individuals, and as future physicians, it is crucial for us to recognize that. While standard science education is certainly critical, a broadened approach that draws on other knowledge and our own life experiences is just as essential to delivering quality healthcare. I believe that Georgetown Medical School’s tradition of “Cura Personalis” and its
Beginning of the 15th and 16th centuries, Europeans began to explore in the Atlantic Coast of Africa. They were mainly lured into the excessive trade in gold, spices and other goods without knowing about slaves in Africa. Nonetheless, Europeans had no success of taking over these African states to achieve all of these goods but later they did take over various regions in other areas. Africans seems to be willing to sell as many as 11 million people to the Atlantic slave trade to the Europeans. Thus, this makes them the first people to have slaves not the Europeans that forced them into this trade. Furthermore, at the start the Africans seems to have full control of the slave trade, but the Europeans came in and slowly dominated the trade without the Africans knowing. Later on, the trade was overturned and everything went back orderly.
As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” (Brainyquote.com) Martin Luther King Jr. was born in January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. King skipped ninth and eleventh grade. He stood up and became a leader in the Civil Rights Movement to try to get equal rights for all. In 1964, he was the youngest to ever receive a Nobel Peace Prize. He is very well known for his "I Have A Dream" speech which took place in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on August 28, 1963. Martin Luther King Jr. should be Innovation Academy's most influential person because he was a great public speaker, he supported and helped others, he also influenced others.

I hope to bring my qualities, such as integrity, interpersonal skills, and my strong desires to serve others, to LMU-DCOM where I can receive the education to become a successful osteopathic physician.
Furthermore, I will be applying to medical school for Fall 2018 as well; therefore, the process of completing applications while managing the coursework of a MCAT prep course and biostatistics will be demanding. Furthermore, I expect the difficulty of these courses to be more ambitious than my undergraduate coursework at A&M due to the extreme preparatory nature for professional school. I’ve also been informed that the classes are regarded like UNT’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program, but that will be an obstacle that I look forward to confronting, so that I may be thoroughly prepared for medical
In Emory Pipeline Program, my peers and I matriculated with undergraduate and medical students at Emory University and Emory School of Medicine. In addition, as we matriculated each year, we were able to meet new people. I was grateful to meet the co-founder, Zwade Marshall, who was a four- year medical student and doing residency at Grady M...
Maus is a graphic memoir by Art Spiegelman, about a father, Vladek, survivor of the Holocaust and a son, Arty, who wants to know what was it like living during the Holocaust era. During the holocaust years, Vladek was advised by a rabbi that his tattooed number will bring him luck. Throughout the story, he continues to personify the luck his number represents by being persistent and hardworking. Despite suffering starvation, thirst, and not feeling well, Vladek continues to remain humble by helping his fellow inmates. Many years passed after the war ended, Vladek was portrayed as this conservative man, but there was a reason behind that mask. Vladek did not want people to step over him like he was stepped on before; he wanted to teach Arty

After over 15 years of working as a CNA and Caregiver, I decided that I wanted to continue my education in the medical field. In 2013 I took the first step towards gaining a better future with more experience as a medical professional. I enrolled into a Medical Assistant program at IBMC college of Longmont. It has been a long road and I am almost to the finish line having gained essential skills needed to move further into my career. It has been a grueling and eye opening experience for me being an adult learner returning back to school at 33 years of age. I persevered through these pass two years with courage and determination, never letting my short comings get the best of me. As I approach the end of my journey with IBMC I have realized that I have a passion for helping those persons who
When I found out I qualified to be a candidate for the NJHS, I knew I had to take this chance. This group is made up of people who depict leadership, character, citizenship, academic success, and service and I would love to join. These characteristics wouldn't just be valuable for a candidate to have, but for everyone to have to exceed in life. If I were to be in the National Junior Honor Society, it would give me an opportunity to ameliorate my future and motivate me to do better.
A void was identified in the criminal justice system, for an independent organisation to oversee the prosecution of offences. The previous system proved to be inconsistent as it allowed police forces to investigate and prosecute cases independently. The Royal Commission on Criminal Procedure created CPS through the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985. As head of the CPS, the DPP’s primary role is to ensure a fair and just legal process by deciding whether to take over an institute proceeding in accordance with the prosecution code. The DPP’s policies are continuously challenged and adapted when needed, as evidenced by the Supreme Court in the case R (Nicklinson) v Ministry of Justice [2014].
I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
