When I found out I qualified to be a candidate for the NJHS, I knew I had to take this chance. This group is made up of people who depict leadership, character, citizenship, academic success, and service and I would love to join. These characteristics wouldn't just be valuable for a candidate to have, but for everyone to have to exceed in life. If I were to be in the National Junior Honor Society, it would give me an opportunity to ameliorate my future and motivate me to do better. My education means a lot to me and I take it seriously. Throughout my life I always tried my best to get good grades and achieve my academic goals that I've made for me. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" is a quote by the inspirational Nelson Mandela that helps me when I am doing something for school and reminds me to do well. While in M.s.118, I haven't been off the honor roll and I am working towards keeping it that way until I finish middle school, then move on to keeping my grades excellent in high school. I know that there are people with higher averages than me, but I still am determined to do well in school and life as well. Whenever I put my mind to something, I will complete or accomplish what it is I am working towards. Another thing adding towards my academic success is I have not had a single after school detention or suspension in my entire life and I don't engage in things that could possibly get me in trouble. I have been in chorus and dance almost my entire life, singing and dancing are my passions and ever since I was young I have loved these activities and participated in events involving this. I've taken dance since I was four years old and still am now. One particular moment that represe... ... middle of paper ... .... This gives me motivation to do well in school and take opportunities like this so that one day I'll be able to pay back all he and my mom have done for me. Another reason is this will be fantastic for my future. Being in this would be very good for getting into an illustrious high school and that leads to a great college. Although I am not sure what I will be when I grow up, I know that whatever I am, I will put the things I know now and the things I have yet to towards it and will help the world in someway. The final reason I want to be in this group is for the experience. Being a part of this would make me a part of something prestigious and just the thought of that makes me happy. In conclusion, I would like to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I hope that you will see the characteristics I have for this group and consider accepting me.

The National Honor Society is a very prestigious organization that I would love to be a part of. It was an honor to be nominated as a candidate. I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I have always wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. As I look back over the years and think of the times I have attended the ceremonies and saw all the awards the members received, I recall saying to myself “That’s going to be me one day.”. I asked my teachers about all the requirements that had to be met to be a National Honor Society member and I made it my main goal to meet each and every one.
In “The Fish” by Elizabeth Bishop, the narrator attempts to understand the relationship between humans and nature and finds herself concluding that they are intertwined due to humans’ underlying need to take away from nature, whether through the act of poetic imagination or through the exploitation and contamination of nature. Bishop’s view of nature changes from one where it is an unknown, mysterious, and fearful presence that is antagonistic, to one that characterizes nature as being resilient when faced against harm and often victimized by people. Mary Oliver’s poem also titled “The Fish” offers a response to Bishop’s idea that people are harming nature, by providing another reason as to why people are harming nature, which is due to how people are unable to view nature as something that exists and goes beyond the purpose of serving human needs and offers a different interpretation of the relationship between man and nature. Oliver believes that nature serves as subsidence for humans, both physically and spiritually. Unlike Bishop who finds peace through understanding her role in nature’s plight and acceptance at the merging between the natural and human worlds, Oliver finds that through the literal act of consuming nature can she obtain a form of empowerment that allows her to become one with nature.
As someone who has always admired the prestige and character of the National Honor Society, I am honored to have received a nomination. I believe that both the program and I would benefit by the contribution of my skills, values, and leadership.
Absolutely. And so in you know fact in our senior year of the rising seniors the spring semester of their junior year we. In a lot of time with that classes they formally prepared to take over the team as they become the senior class and you know when I tell him I said a senior class has have to have very high standards because those standards now become the minimum for the team and if you can't because you can't live up to those standards. You almost have to make a decision to eject you know and say you know I cannot be a senior in this team and not have the highest standards because you accept the minimum standard for the rest of the team and so and that that means that the level of maturity. You know do I want to accept that and at the same time or just understand that you're going to have to maintain the standards and if you're not that person that can really do it then you just don't be the person that tries to get out in front of everything and that's a discussion that we have with all of them. Everybody's going to have skill sets and make sure that you know this is not the best person for the situation. If nobody does anything that somebody's going to fill the void. So get out there if that's your skill set. That's your strength get out there and lead. I look at it as deserving to lead it is not when you have a title. Absolutely not. When you when it's just because
