What is one of the most essential processes of everyday life that is used across all cultures, ethnicities, and people groups that ultimately is the key to any relationship? The answer is communication, or more specifically interpersonal communication, whether it is by talking, texting, writing, or any other medium the human interaction between two or more people is essential to surviving day to day life. As competency grows in interpersonal communication people are not only able to survive daily interactions but they become able to thrive in these situations and are able to develop quality relationships with different people or even work efficiently with people they normally would have nothing to do with. However can someones interpersonal communication competency be summed up in a score out of fifteen or is it a combination of how well they scored and how they behave with actual people. I intend to see if my daily interactions with people and how friends, such as my roommate, perceive me lines up with my competency scores.Effectiveness in interpersonal communication is the ability to produce desired end results of the three types of goals through your interactions with others (Reflect and Relate). There are all different types of communication that people will use through out their life. The most important type of communication is interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication differs from other forms of communication in that there are few participants involved, the participants are in close proximity to each other, there are many sensory channels used, and feedback is immediate. Interpersonal communication always uses intonation, diction and enunciation to give meaning to information.
