Ok, Kemar thank you for your speech about how our own mediocrity ties into our comfort zone. Now, let's talk about outside of yourselves, and what you are struggling with. I had a tough time following the course. I felt I was out of depth than other any students. So, I decided to go see a math academic advisor to get some tips or advice…. but every time I went to see them the response coming from them was always same. It was “if you are struggling in your certain course, just DROP it”. Okay…. It was an honest response, but it kind of made me feel uncomfortable and it set me down. By the way how many people here thought “if I’m failing, I can always drop it and take it next term”. I have always thought about this, but I didn’t want this to happen. I went to see the advisor to get any advice or motivations… but the answer was always same “Just drop the course and take it next term”. They also recommended to go see counselors in the campus. But I was not comfortable with them, after talking to a academic advisor so I decided to talk to my family. “Family” They are the one who knows me best and knows how to cheer me …show more content…

If you go there you get to meet many people who are same situation as you are and a lot of upper year students will support you there. For me I joined University of Waterloo Korean Student Association, they do a lot of events for Korean students and tried to support them best as they can. (i.e UWKSA (university of Waterloo Korean Student Association, UWCSA, (China Student Association) etc) Okay - What can other students do? • Regardless, if you are an international or domestic student, if you see your friends having a tough time, tried to make them comfortable as possible (make them feel the university as a new home where they are safe and comfortable, be their family and their comfort zone) (PREZI Image) *CLICK Mouse - What Can University do for the students?
