Success. The word that represents prosperity and is taught as imperative to reach. I would repeatedly find myself only associating this word with my academic intellect when it unknowingly had more value than what I held it to. With my future coming within a few months, approaching triumph was inevitably terrifying for facing adversities hindered me from embracing the process of achieving my goals.

While consisting of excitement yet fear, being a teenager instills enlightening challenges, leading to fundamental wisdom. Overall, this milestone of maturity is full of bittersweet moments to remember for a lifetime. But, most importantly, this stage of growth becomes immensely constructive because these lessons aren’t always taught in the school curriculum.

Entering my junior year into high school, I anticipated stress making me dread the summer coming to an end. With being a tenacious student came rigorous courses and even higher expectations. Being the student that I was, this lifestyle was an indifferent, conditioned

But, in spite of being supported by the loved ones that knew that I would be graduating soon, it was arduous to believe in myself through it all. Over time I began to suffer from multiple mental breakdowns that progressively got worse leading to intense feelings of emptiness. My long-awaited days that were supposed to consist of relaxing and having fun turned into a noxious battle with my internal demons. Due to the continuous concern I had about how my future would be, I could no longer look forward to what senior year had in store for me. With this, I allowed my academic profile to define who I was as a person. And as a result, the alacrity I possessed gradually slipped from my hands at
