Over my career as a student, I believe that I have done well academically. I was the valedictorian of both my junior high and high school classes. During high school, I was involved with engineering Project Lead the Way classes every year, so I was well prepared to start earning my degree in aerospace engineering at Purdue this year. This first semester I am taking mostly basic classes such as calculus, chemistry, and an intro engineering course in order to get the required credits, but I am also in a computer graphics and spatial analysis course in which we have learned to use CATIA and use proper product data management. Previously, I learned to use Inventor in high school, so it was relatively easy to adapt to the new CAD software. I will not …show more content…

Outside of academics, I am involved in several organizations at Purdue. I joined the SAE Aero club this semester. In this group, we work to design, build, and fly a semiautonomous RC airplane. Later this year we will take our plane to Florida for the international competition. The objective this year is to carry the most weight and accurately predict the airplane’s performance. There are close to 75 members, so they broke us into smaller teams. I am personally on the manufacturing team. I chose this because it was one of the smaller teams, and I knew I would get a lot of hands on experience with how aircraft of any size are assembled as well as how the aerodynamics theory is put into action. I also had experience with manufacturing in high school. In my PLTW classes we would use 3D printers and laser cutters to manufacture our projects. I really enjoyed it then, and I can say that
