Club Kids Playhouse and Cafe is located in 283 Homer street Earlwood. I visited it on May 9th and I stayed there about two hours. It is an indoor Kids play centre and cafe that provide both children and adults an opportunity to enjoy their time together. The centre is aiming to engage children in interesting and learning activities, make them stress free and feel joyful in the warm and safe environment. The staff is working hard to ensure that every party the child host at the centre would be memorable and entertainment for children of all ages. Club Kids offers various facilitation and resources for children including: Jumping Castle, Slide-in Ball Pool, Spiral Slide, Maze, 4.5m Astro Slide, Speed Slide, Air-conditioned and Purified, Safe Enclosed Toddler Area. …show more content…
Play Structure Rules are demonstrated on the wall such as parents or guardians must supervise children using the play facility, children have to wear socks when they are playing. There are two themed rooms in the centre which are hand painted by an artist. Alice in wonderland is the room in the front which can hold up to 25 children at one time, while Aquarium is another room at the back that can accommodate 40 children at one time. Within each room, there are a long table, many chairs, a voice box, beautiful decorations and different lights. The operating hours in the centre are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm between Monday to Friday and from 9:30 am to 5:30pm at the weekend. Furthermore, there are sixteen staff and two bosses in the centre. The managers of the centre have a meeting every month, whereas all staff have a meeting every three months. The methods of communication between staff and families are several. Families can make a booking through phone call and home websites. The centre also have a Facebook group so that staff and families can keep in
My observation was an hour and fifteen minutes long. This is an at- home facility, she takes care of kids of all ages, day and night. She separated the children by age group, allowing infants/ young toddlers to be together and older toddlers to be with the bigger age kids. She has a room in her house designated for play. In the room, she has a painting station, a reading area, a doll house and kitchen station for play. I arrived when they were in play time. She explained to me that she allows the children to play 1 hour each day so that they can express their creative minds and so that they are cognitively
The way in which individuals construct gender in today’s society can come from an array of different sources. Gender construction can come from societal, family, club, organizations or cultural influences. The construction of gender norms and stereotypes is coming more recently form the media, more particularly, the music industry. Every day millions of people listen to music on their phones, radios, televisions etc. and these forms of media are all part of a complex system constructing certain gender norms and stereotypes. Many people in society are influenced by the lyrics presented by artists without even consciously recognizing it. When hearing the lyric, “Take a couple days off take it off leave nothing but ya t-shirt ya panties on (Ludacris, Sex Room). One
Little Royal VPK and Daycare center is a remarkable preschool design to enhance children’s development in a healthy and nurturing environment. We craft experiences that foster children’s curiosity, increase their abilities and encourage their creativity. We are a center dedicated to the education of young children between the ages of six month to five year old, in four modern and creative playrooms that will boost children’s imagination.
Play is such an important part of the learning and growing, especially for children. Children engage in many different types of play, but the play I saw the most when I observe the children of my daycare is sociodramatic play. The book Understanding Dramatic Play by Judith Kase-Polisini defines sociodramatic play as “both players must tacitly or openly agree to act out the same drama” (Kase-Polisini 40). This shows that children play with each other and make their worlds together as equal creators. Children also work together without argument. There is also some personal play involved in their sociodramatic play. The children involved in the play worked to make a family having dinner, which is great example of how this will prepare them for
They have failed to appropriately arrange the room and don’t allow enough creative freedom for the children to properly and adequately express themselves. Though this centre has a good foundation for success they still have a lot of work ahead to make it a responsive environment. It is important for the environment to promote healthy learning and inclusiveness for each of the children. Incorporating more play accessories, natural light, pathways, and more private quiet places they would do much better in succeeding in having a responsive
Activities will include music, arts & crafts, active and quiet games, reading, outdoor and indoor time, etc.
During the Upper East Side: A Clash of Titans tour I has the opportunity to learn about civilization and people in the 19th century. On this tour I learned many things such as The Unions club which is the name of a gentlemen’s club. A gentlemen’s club during the 1900s was where wealthy men went to hang out with other wealthy men. William Dams Delano and Chester Homes Aldrich formed The Knickerbocker Club in 1871. They formed this club because they felt the Unions Club let in anyone. In 1891, the Metropolitan club was formed by J.P. Morgan because the Unions club was to elite for himself and other men to get into. The Seventh Regiment Armory was designed by an architect by the name of Charles Clinton. The building was headquarters for the Silk Stocking regiment or as they were also known as the 7th New York Militia.
Instantly, the bright lighting and cleanliness of the interior of the facility struck me. The bright lighting seemed to highlight the multi-colored artwork and durable furniture in the room to make the space feel child-friendly. Organization was one of the key aspects that helped the teachers and children have a safe and fun learning experience. For cleaning and emergencies, essential items and areas were labeled properly, and were accessible to adult caregivers, but out of reach to children to prevent health and safety risks. The floors were clean and free of clutter to promote free movement and play in each classroom. The toys were child-sized, and there no small, detachable pieces to avoid choking hazards. Within the classroom, the interest centers are arranged along the walls, and during reading instruction, the middle area is used to form a reading circle. The preschoolers had a variety of activities to choose from at each interest station. The Block Center had Lego blocks, wooden blocks and shapes; The Writing Center had dry erase boards, paper and pencils; the Cooking Center was filled with play foods and a child-sized kitchen set; and the Math Center had wooden stick and rubber cubes for counting. The teachers interacted with the children by guiding activities in the classroom, allowing the children to play independently on the playground, constantly communicating behavioral
The History and Context of Club Culture "History is hard to know because of all the hired bullshit, but even without being sure of history it seems entirely reasonable that every now and then the energy of a whole generation comes to a head in a long fine flash, for reasons that nobody really understands at the time, and which never explain, in retrospect, what really happened" (Hunter. S.Thompson, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas") The late 1980's saw the emergence of a hugely significant social phenomenon. Rave culture (or club culture as it is now most commonly referred to), is of massive appeal to many young people and statistics by Mintel show that 15.7 million people in Britain go clubbing each weekend (Mintel:1996). Clubbing has become a major cultural industry and cities such as Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester to name but a few, all have well developed clubbing industries making a substantial contribution to the local cities economy. Many cities have actively pursued inner city regeneration programmes partially based on the nighttime economy and attraction of clubbers (Malbon 1999:6).
The children are put through different learning experiences and tasks, for the professionals to evaluate and observe their different development stages. All this helps to understand the children’s adult characteristics for future life as every child’s play experiences are crucial to their adult life.
The club culture-hundreds of thousands of young people across the country, covered in sweat and rhythmically throbbing to a beat- has long been filled with stigmas and stereotypes; the idea that hip-hop music is only for people of African descent, or solely for the "impoverished youth" as Dale Kleinschmidt, an ex-DJ and amateur break dancer from Dallas, puts it, has been a common view associated with the hip-hop scene by the masses. Dale got interested in break dancing because, as he says, "he wanted to look cool." In the beginning, the idea of being able to break dance was funny to him- he had already been involved in the dance scene, but he had never been a b-boy, he just DJed. A lot of Dale's interest in the dance aspect of the clubs came from his DJing experiences.
A Room With A View is a novel that challenged all the ideals culture had established for young women in their time period. EM Forster contrasts typical social behavior with Lucy, a young woman in the early 20th century who is a foil of the usual conservative mindset. She has feelings of compassion and courage, and is willing to branch out of the social caste that society has placed her into.
Playtime is a word that can be defined and understood in various ways, thus, resulting in misunderstanding of the term ‘playtime’. Playtime can be assumed as a time where children are left to freely play without supervision or in other words a time for students to do anything they prefer without limitations and instructions. Some people may assume playtime as a well planned period in school whereby students gain new knowledge and skills.
The indoor environment-first and foremost the indoor environment needs to be safe, and it needs to be all inclusive. This means that every child, no matter their age race, ethnicity, gender or abilities or special education needs, can all play. When considering the layout of the indoor area it needs to be spacious and it needs to accommodate children continuous change of interests and abilities so that children are able to grow and learn. If the indoor environment stayed the same each day, children would not be stimulated, they would get bored and they would not develop their learning. Furthermore, the environment needs to be of the highest quality, the toys need to be safe, and good enough to situmulate the childs brain. these toys need to
Young adults sometimes have a struggle to find something exciting and safe to do on the weekend. It’s hard to find fun things that are not too dangerous. In the past, finding excitement has been a challenge for me, also, but in recent years I personally have found excitement in dance clubs and dance music. I find dance clubs, with large crowds of young people, usually eighteen years and older can be a place to let loose of the weekday pressures and just have fun. With the large crowds, clubs usually sell out and long lines form outside, with people waiting to get into the “crazy environment of the club.”
