Recommended: Personal experience choosing a college

It's April 25th, 2016, and I'm only a junior at PAVCS. Next year I'll have to choose where to spend the next four years of my life. What's amazing about my decision? I've already figured out where I am going - Messiah. Strange? Not really. My sisters, Morgan and Holly, both went to Messiah, the former graduated last spring with her R.N./ B.S.N. Messiah's also my parents college preference, in addition to my own preferred choice. It sounds strange for me, maybe it doesn't for you, but it still does for me. And believe me, I, like you, have looked everywhere. I've used all the college search/find things, especially college board. I've even watched all the promos, videos, etc. Anything you say, I've already done. So to reassure myself of

Throughout the book, Estrella’s mother, Petra relies on superstitions and religion to get her through the hardships in life. In tough times, she turns to the statue and prays for guidance. Her thirteen-year-old daughter Estrella is the first of her family to realize that she needs to stop relying on religion and take control of her life. This brings in a wave of self-empowerment, not only for Estrella but eventually for all the characters as well.
