The career that I am planning on pursuing is carpentry. It is something that I have always had a passion for since I was about 5 years old. I have built and repaired all sorts of things whether they are useless to anyone or not. I have always known that I would eventually pursue my dream of being a carpenter no matter what the cost or sacrifice that it would require of me. Carpentry is one the largest building trades occupations in the industry. A carpenter is always in high demand because everyone needs something built. There are many different types of carpenters but all must be able to build things such as closets, cabinets, shelves, houses and many other things. A few types are Carpenter 1, Carpenter 2, Carpenter 3, Carpenter Casino, Cabinet maker, and Bench Carpenter. A carpenter 1 is the same as an entry level carpenter and averages about $36,000 annually. They only have to possess a high school diploma and 0-2 years of work experience. A carpenter 2 earns about $43,000 annually and only has to have 2-5 years of work experience with a certain degree of creativity and latitude. A carpenter 3 directs and leads the work of others. An apprenticeship or formal training in carpentry with 5 years of experience is required at this level. They earn about $48,000 annually. A casino carpenter works mainly at a casino, hence the name Casino Carpenter. They earn about $46,000 annually and must have 2-4 years of work experience. A Cabinet maker and Bench Carpenter goes back to the basics, earning about $33,000 annually. They only need 0-2 years of work experience the same as a Carpenter
