Introduction
Before we begin our career, especially in Hospitality Industry, we need to know skills, competencies and even weaknesses. This individual essay assessment, that given by Business Industry Training Team, can use as a tool to know individual reflection about our skills, weaknesses that need to develop or even goals in the form of a Pre-Development Plan which will be useful during our internship and future career. This assessment will explain about my goals, strengths and development areas, competencies and what action I need to take.

Diana S. Hunt said, “Goals are dreams with deadlines”. Dreaming about your future and then you try to make it happen within limited time, we call this goal. When I was kid, I dreamt to have a luxurious and well-known hotel like I saw in movies that time. Then I decided to study more about hospitality industry and here I am. In 4 years from now, I’ll be graduated from this hospitality school and have 2 years experiences in hospitality industry and in 5 years from now, I’ll work in a hotel either in Indonesia, my hometown, or abroad (European country or USA). I want to work in a 3 or 4 star hotel as F&B Manager because I want to know more about this department as my first job and make some money, and if my parents let me, I want to learn more about culinary. I am interested in culinary, too. If I can continue learning culinary, after I graduate from culinary school, I would like to gain experience in kitchen department as well.

Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future. The Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale (CDSE) was developed by Karen Taylor and Nancy Betz to apply Albert Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy expectations to the domain of career decision making. Career decision self-efficacy was originally defined by Taylor and Betz as the individual’s belief that he or she can successfully complete tasks necessary in making career decisions.
