I am reaching out to personally thank you and express my sincere appreciation for your recent gift: The Boeing Supply Chain Management scholarship. The generosity of people like you makes it actively easier for students such as myself to continue pursuing my academic and career aspirations. I strive for these goals in hopes of graduating with a bachelor of science in supply chain management and becoming a supply chain manager or procurement specialist. I want to genuinely thank you for helping me on my journey to fulfill my passion for supply chain management.
I would also like to thank you for helping ease my financial concerns. I so frantically recall worrying about whether or not I would be able to afford to continue my education at ASU
Gulfstream Aerospace is one of leading corporate jet manufacturers in the world. They have been building jets since the late 50’s and continue to create top of the line aircraft which have become the status symbol of success. With their success comes an extensive company infrastructure and supply chain. First, we will discuss how Gulfstream uses the location to maximize the effectiveness of its supply chain. Then we will look at the business case for Gulfstream’s approach to its supply chain, and in particular, does it make sense to have a car follow supplies while it is on the rail system. Finally, we will look at Gulfstream’s to the “just in time” manufacturing and its strategic approach to choosing locations.
Since the 1980’s the cost of attending colleges have increased rapidly. Rising costs of for Medicare, highways and prisons have caused many states to reduce a percentage of their budget for higher education. Colleges and Universities currently face a very serious challenge:
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and discuss the effectiveness of the Target Stores supply chain. Target was founded in 1902 by George Draper Dayton who after partnering with the owner of Goodfellow Dry Goods Company for a year decided he wanted to have more involvement, so he purchased Goodfellows renaming it Dayton Dry Goods Company. After purchasing the store Mr. Dayton remained in management until the time of his death in 1938. By this time the store had seen many changes including a name change in 1911 changing from Dayton Dry Goods Company to The Dayton Company, as well as an addition of the Dayton Foundation in 1918. After Mr. Dayton’s death the family continued managing the business until 1983 in which the last two managing Dayton’s retired, ending 80 years of the Dayton’s family management (Target Corporation, 2014).
So after graduation I decided to explore my options at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh. Wow, was this a mistake? Not only was the college to big for my own well being, but the big university provided too many distractions. This is why I feel I have finally taken the right and first step. in securing my future.
I hope that you can see my education and future are advancing as we speak. This doesn’t mean I haven’t had a few bumps in the road, because I have. Actually, some of the bumps have unfortunately been financial aid. But, I am growing. It is a day to day continual experience of growth and it’s exciting for me to see where it takes me. Again, thank you for this opportunity and all the work you do as an organization.
Boeing Case Analysis In December 1996, the Boeing Company purchased McDonnell Douglas for a premium of 21% over the price of its stock. This move gave Boeing the opportunity to increase its value by transferring its knowledge across business units, both commercial and defense aircraft. But in the two years after the merger, Boeing’s stock lost one third of its value due to increased inefficiencies and costs associated with the merger. Would this merger really add value to Boeing or would the costs outweigh the benefits gained?
Food industry can be chartered by low margin industry, while along with the shift of power from the manufacturer to the purchaser, the price and demand became flexible, and the product variety increased.
I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
In the economically depressed world we live in today, the bottom line for students and parents when choosing a college is money. Although the thought of going off to college in the big city is both alluring and exciting, the price tag that goes along with it is not. Due to tighter wallets and budget cuts, students are beginning to re-consider their firm stance that they must go out of state for college. With all expenses considered, it is obvious that going to a local college is much cheaper than going to a university across the country. However, if your dream college is 3,000 miles away, there are many options that should be considered that will help pay for tuition, such as scholarships, loans, and working part-time. But even before this step, one must take into account every expense that goes along with that pricey college on the other side of the country; i.e. the application fee, room and board, and even the clothing required in that climate. All of these factors and more were considered when researching my two colleges, Arizona State University and New York University, and I determined that although ASU is the most financially viable, the education and pedigree I would receive attending NYU far outweighed the expensive tuition and other costs. Therefore, NYU, the more expensive school, is my first choice out of the two colleges. Although choosing a top college is an important step in the search process, planning on how to pay for it is the most important step. There are many different options available to incoming students, such as scholarships, loans, part-time jobs, working on campus,
Summary William Boeing founded the Boeing airplane company in the early 20th century. After strings of acquisitions and mergers, this company grew and became the largest global aerospace industry. Followed by previous reorganizations in the 1990s, this company decided to start its branding campaign in May 2001. This campaign consisted of lots of effort and structural changes for the first time in corporate history. The media was showing the initial success of this campaign just after its beginning.
Without financial assistance, it will be challenging to earn my degree. In all honesty, without scholarship assistance, I will not be able to begin my education at ASU but will need to live at home and attend a community college. I am willing to do whatever it takes to earn my degree but I know it would greatly benefit me to begin and finish at ASU. At this time my parents are not able to help assist me financially and even though I plan to work part-time as I attend school to offset the cost, scholarship funds

As an Industrial Engineer with more than 15 years of work experience, I choose Supply Chain Management (SCM) because I believe that logistics is the most dynamic, vibrant, challenging, technology driven area, and the future of any big national and international companies. It will give me the opportunity to know behind the scene of improving the companies’ performance by using SCM tools. If I work in this field, I can get my answers and a chance to work in the market of raw material, purchasing, production, distribution, logistics, and final goods. After finishing two semesters in the College of Business at University of Houston Downtown (UHD), I am really passionate about it and want to gain my knowledge in the logistics sector, learn new techniques and skills, and seek new opportunities.
Of all the events transpiring in my life, my college aspirations seem to be the most thought through. As I will be going to St. John’s University in the fall, my goals consist of earning my Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in physics, transferring to a reputable grad-school, and ultimately acquiring my P.H.D. in psychology. As stated, I will attend St. John’s University in the fall of 2017. My father is employed by St. John’s sister college, St. Benedict’s, so I qualified and will be receiving tuition remission.
This report has clearly in detail described the meaning, benefits as well as the need and challenges of the RFID in the supply chain system. While RFID comes with a larger magnitude of benefits than the bar code, it’s an expensive medium and comes at a price that may be prohibitive to many businesses. On the one hand, RFID is advantageous in different areas of the supply chain and does not require line-of-sight scanning; it helps in labor reduction, enhances visibility of products and processes , and helps in inventory management. On the other hand, RFID is an expensive solution, lacking benchmarks or standards, suffers from some adverse deployment issues, and suffers from major privacy concerns. However with the ultimate aim to see the establishment of item-level tracking which should act to revolutionize SCM practices, RFID is here to stay.
