My Interest in Supply Chain Management and Goals As an Industrial Engineer with more than 15 years of work experience, I choose Supply Chain Management (SCM) because I believe that logistics is the most dynamic, vibrant, challenging, technology driven area, and the future of any big national and international companies. It will give me the opportunity to know behind the scene of improving the companies’ performance by using SCM tools. If I work in this field, I can get my answers and a chance to work in the market of raw material, purchasing, production, distribution, logistics, and final goods. After finishing two semesters in the College of Business at University of Houston Downtown (UHD), I am really passionate about it and want to gain my knowledge in the logistics sector, learn new techniques and skills, and seek new opportunities. …show more content…
To do that, ones need to have creative thinking, smart decision making, exposure to different faces of global business, and a variety of logistics related knowledge. These are the facts that I want to be in SCM which is not a division but a function of the successful company. Moreover, I find it very exciting and challenging because the Logistics sector is a fast growing sector in the world with non-stop as purchasing orders will not be delivered to customers safely on time without it while having the integration of information flow
In high school, I was part of SkillsUSA, a national organization that heavily focused on Career and Technical Education for students in high school and in college. It was my junior year in high school and I had become fascinated with this organization. There are many types of competitions such as cosmetology or architecture and engineering where students can showcase their talents along with what they have learned in school. My range of skills allowed me to compete in different types of computer and leadership competitions. This led me to many different experiences that have greatly influenced my personality and have allowed me to learn that there are many important aspects to have a good character. Having won some competitions and lost others has given me experiences that allowed me to improve myself and to truly understand how some parts of our personality are important.

...dustrial Distribution allows me to pursue my interests in both Business and Engineering, and therefore I chose that major. Also, it will help me to build my personal characteristics that will make me successful in this major. As my education continues, I look forward to learning how manufacturers and distributors maintain good communication and relations, so that the products can be distributed efficiently and avoid problems. If there are problems, I would also like to comprehend ways to solve those problems. In the future, I hope to work for a company such as Amazon, Dell, or Boeing in the field of logistics. These companies depend on logistics in planning and conducting their operations. Since logistics and relations between manufacturer and distributor are critical to the everyday operations of businesses, understanding this will help me in my future endeavors.
In order to succeed, managers have to realize that they cannot do it alone and they must work together on a daily basis with the whole organizations in their supply chains. Because supply chain management involves all functions within an organization, managers need to know what a supply chain is, why it is important, and the impact of supply chain management on the success and profitability of their organization. Today, Wal-Mart topped the list of the America’s biggest companies on the Fortune 500 list, “with sales of almost $345 billion — more than a quarter of a trillion dollars” (Forbs). Wal-Mart’s supply chain management is becoming recognized as a core competitive strategy.
The occupational study of construction managers has been a great experience for me. I went into the situation expecting to find an average career with a simple day in and day out routine that would only change as much as the location would. What I found could not be more from the opposite. The work is exciting and constantly changing as the job changes. No two jobs are ever the same, and I saw that as I shadowed Ryan at two different job sites. This project took me through the history, training, and a day on the job. It could not have been a better experience, and this project proved that a career in construction management is a real possibility in the future.
I am applying for the acceptance into the Doctor Business Administration program at Liberty University. My aspiration and love of learning has lead me to pursuit this next step. My desire is to develop and obtain a greater emphasis of researching management and leadership. A DBA will expand my knowledge of what I have already obtained through my MBA. Strong leadership skills sets are the highest and most prestigious aspects of both leadership and management. A DBA can help me to obtain my aspiration of becoming an executive leader. It can help promote my knowledge of the different areas of management and build new skills to apply and adapted to our changing world of business. My desire is to obtain full knowledge of long-term business
Traditionally, marketing, distribution, planning, manufacturing, and the purchasing organizations along the supply chain operated independently. The objectives of these organizational divisions are always different and conflict with each other’s objectives. . Marketing puts a higher emphasis on high customer service and maximum sales dollars conflict with manufacturing and distribution goals. Many manufacturing operations are designed to maximize throughput and lower costs with little consideration for the impact on inventory levels and distribution capabilities. Purchasing contracts are often negotiated with very little information beyond historical buying patterns. The result of these factors is that there is not a single, integrated plan for the organization---there were as many plans as businesses. Clearly, there is a need for a mechanism through which these different functions can be integrated together. Supply chain management is a strategy through which such an integration can be achieved.
In thinking about my interest in art and the idea of studying to be an art therapist, I realized that it all started as both a hobby and a skill when I was really young. I loved to draw my favorite superheroes, video game, Disney, and anime characters, films, and song artists while growing up. I also drew images based on observations from personal experiences or looking at picture books.
Growing up in Dayton, the son of a blue collar factory worker, I was repeatedly told that I was going to college so that I could get a job I looked forward to going to every morning. College was not about money, or climbing the social ladder, but about purpose.
“Logistic is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient, effective flow of goods storage of goods, services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer requirements”

Supply chain management has been defined as that process that involves the management of information, materials, and all the finances that are handled within and across the entire supply chain process (Christopher, 2016). The management is usually done through out the entire supply chain management from that moment when the suppliers are involved through all the manufacturing activities, different distribution activities, and the way that the products are served to the final product consumer (Turban, et al., 2002). The process also includes all the activities that different organizations offers to their customers as after sale services for purposes perfecting their services and products towards their highly valued customers (Christopher,
