Authoritarian- Leadership is a very direct leadership style where the leader tells the team members what needs to be done. This leadership can work well and effective where the control is most imperative for example an unskilled jobs. The advantages is that quickly decisions are made which means quick reaction, good for unexperienced team. Also would be used in the ambulance service when they are in accident scene they will share their ideas on how would be best to treat casualties.
Transactional- Leadership is a direct style of leadership which uses rewards and punishments to motivate the team. By using the rewards and punishment system, it helps improve the team’s performance.
The benefits of this leadership is that the worker will be more motivated to finish the task at a high standard as they want the rewards. The member also have clear vision of what is expected. One other advantage is that reward could be getting days off and pay rise or even getting promoted.
The negatives of this leadership is that workers might not be encouraged, and if they make mistake they will be punished which could be working overtime and extra work or doing something you don’t like. Also poor performance results in punishment which could be losing …show more content…
