When I was in elementary school, I was always the new kid. I went from being social and outgoing to being reserved and relaxed. I moved from Washington state to South Dakota and knew nobody. This was the beginning of a new hobby to get out my frustration. I then moved to Iowa, where I was unable go to school for a month and had nowhere to go. I would use art as a way to release my frustration and calm down. Art has been an amazing way for me to overcome many hardships in my life, and I would love to inspire others to use art as a way of managing stress and hardships. This scholarship would help me pursue a career in art education. This career is ideal because I want to influence and help teenagers through any hardships and stressors that may
Imagine pondering into a reconstruction of reality through only the visual sense. Without tasting, smelling, touching, or hearing, it may be hard to find oneself in an alternate universe through a piece of art work, which was the artist’s intended purpose. The eyes serve a much higher purpose than to view an object, the absorptions of electromagnetic waves allows for one to endeavor on a journey and enter a world of no limitation. During the 15th century, specifically the Early Renaissance, Flemish altarpieces swept Europe with their strong attention to details. Works of altarpieces were able to encompass significant details that the audience may typically only pay a cursory glance. The size of altarpieces was its most obvious feat but also its most important. Artists, such as Jan van Eyck, Melchior Broederlam, and Robert Campin, contributed to the vast growth of the Early Renaissance by enhancing visual effects with the use of pious symbols. Jan van Eyck embodied the “rebirth” later labeled as the Renaissance by employing his method of oils at such a level that he was once credited for being the inventor of oil painting. Although van Eyck, Broederlam, and Campin each contributed to the rise of the Early Renaissance, van Eyck’s altarpiece Adoration of the Mystic Lamb epitomized the artworks produced during this time period by vividly incorporating symbols to reconstruct the teachings of Christianity.
In the University Of Arizona Museum Of Art, the Pfeiffer Gallery is displaying many art pieces of oil on canvas paintings. These paintings are mostly portraits of people, both famous and not. They are painted by a variety of artists of European decent and American decent between the mid 1700’s and the early 1900’s. The painting by Elizabeth Louise Vigee-Lebrun caught my eye and drew me in to look closely at its composition.
What is the role of an art director in the advertising or graphic design business?
I am passionate about making a difference in as many lives as I possibly can. As someone who is also passionate about having a successful future, I believe that achieving this scholarship will allow me to pursue these passions and attain my academic goals of going to graduate school to get my PhD and become a Clinical Psychologist, possibly transfer to UGA as a junior, and to be responsible with my money and the way that I spend it.
When I was young my career was being an artist. Since I practice my art skills, I think that many great artists don’t stay artists because the economics are too difficult. I’ve served as a panelist for various funders. As I review applications, I wish that more artists learned how to document their work in a high-quality way, write a clear and concise proposal, or identify their audience and outreach plan. These are aspects for my job application to not necessarily taught in school. Having mentors and researching the business of being an artist through artist-service organizations can make a difference. For some reason, many artist went to

History is filled with individuals and situations that influenced, or perhaps completely changed, the way the world views art. The meaning of art and the variety of styles has shifted so much that people of past centuries and cultures would be confused and possibly disgusted at the sight of the more recent art styles. Even so, the art world continues to change as the years pass by, and many parties contribute to that. Artists, of course, have largest role in creating new styles of art and changing old ones, but critics, color theorists, the purchasers, and the audience all influence the art world in a various ways. And even artists will exert their influence in a variety of ways. Some do it solely through their own artwork, others through

The history of Art has continuously changed over time, and will continue to do so as long as humanity continues to evolve and time continues to go on. The author of Art History, Marilyn Stokstad, eases the reader into this mindset very early on. She explains that slight changes in the economy, climate, what is expected socially or cultural differences can shift the way Art is viewed and created forever. Early African Art and Gothic Art, both of which Stokstad clearly and concisely summarizes within two enthralling chapters, are both two unique genres, so different from one another that it seems nearly impossible to relate the two at a first glance. The way they structured architecture and artwork are vastly different, and are from incredibly different times yet somehow it is still incredibly to link the two together - whether it be through similar aspects of art or their subtle differences, these two styles are connected in more ways than one.
Art is a form of communication through drawings or images. It shows symbolism, emotion, and personality through strokes of a paint brush. Art requires the passion to draw what you see the world as, and the want to show the world what you made. Art is a career that many people don’t do because they fear failure. Though some people are right it is not as easy as it looks, but neither is it impossible.
Attending college is the next stepping stone in my life, after I graduate high school. College is very expensive and it will place a giant burden on my family, financially. Receiving this scholarship
Receiving this scholarship would have a tremendous impact on my education; it could mean the difference between continuing my education with the peace of mind needed to concentrate on my studies, and being distracted by stressing about how to finance my schooling with the very real possibility of having to drop out.
Currently I am enrolled at the University of Nebraska as a bachelor of fine arts with an emphasis on graphic design. One of the greatest and most overlooked tasks of a graphic design professional is dealing with the customer. Not a lot of graphic design students think about that, so thinking this would give me an upper hand; so, I enrolled in a business communications class. My current written communication skills are lacking to non-existent. My English grammar is terrible, before this class I would be hard-pressed without the Internet to tell you what an adjective, conjunction, or even a pronoun was. It was not for lack of teach-ability but more a lack of someone sitting down and helping me to understand what my mind could not comprehend.
