1. What did you learn from this project? Give specific examples from strategy or perhaps something you learned about yourself.
From this project, I learned that building an art car can take you a long time to finish. At the Art Car Museum, one of the art car “Bat Wings” took about 200 hours to make. In order to build the car, there are many things we need to organize. Like we did in class; we need research, marketing, journalizing and yearbook, and HR teams to help Pershing Middle School students build art car.

2. How has it impacted you in terms of service?

What actions did your group take? (That is, what did you accomplish as a group or alone?)
We have used one of our class periods to work on the research part of this service learning activity. We all gathered and brainstormed on where we should begin. Everyone in my group, they pulled out their laptops then went on to websites and searched what we needed to know about the art car parade. I only had my phone that day, but I was able to search some information with my cellphone as well. We took one day off from class and drove to the Art Car Museum. We tried to find broachers that were provided there and specifically talked about the Art Car Parade, but we could not find any. We were only able to see some of the parade’s art car. I took pictures of the Art Car Parade winners’ car and post cards that has other cars’ photo. In the back of each post cards, it described martials and year it was made. We wanted to know more information, so we talked to a guy who was in the front desk. He did not know much about the parade. However, he said there is a cool place called the Beer Can House, which is acquired by the Orange Show organization. Better than going to the Beer Can House, we should go see the Orange Show Monument. Unluckily, the monument was not open. It made us feel regret, yet we did not give up.
