Morning Classes I’m pretty sure most students hate getting up super early in the morning to go to class. I think that it is just the worst thing ever! Starting later in the day seems to provide a more awake environment for students. The ones who are awake are more likely to succeed, while in the first couple of early morning classes and students are sleepy and not really learning. In my opinion I think that morning classes are a bad idea. Early classes can have a negative effect on the students’ academic performance. I like to think that going to later classes are better for one’s health, for the students’ concentration in class and it also makes things more convenient. First of all, I feel that going to later classes would be better
When in the course of human events, students should be entering school a little bit later than the usual. This will give the student more sleep time which then will allow the student to think better when in school. This will also help a student be fully awake and not be sleeping in class. Students will pay more attention and will be ready to learn. Waking up early and going to school early makes a student be sleepy in class. We the students should be getting a later start in school.
The alarm beeps again sounding like a fire alarm going off. School starts before 8am. Using your fingers to hold open your eyes and dragging your feet, you get in the car and drive yourself to school. Will you even be able to make it through your day? School days for teens start to early. Teens aren't getting the sleep recommended for a healthy start to their day. Later start times for middle and high schools are proven to benefit both students and teachers.
Based on the article on The National Sleep Foundation, when it's time for school the average teen body still thinks it's the middle of the night.
Everyone has always hated getting up super early to go to school. As children get older they move to different schools, from elementary to middle to high school, and the start times get earlier. In elementary school it was never a problem getting up but getting older, it always got harder to get up and the days were always longer. Schools start so early in the morning that it is hard to focus and students tend to miss more of their earlier classes and attend all of their later classes. Schools everywhere should start later because it would benefit the students and teachers.
Kids and teen everywhere are rushed, stressed, and not doing as well in school because they aren't getting the right amount of sleep. About 40% of american high schools start classes before 8:00 am and more than 20% of middle schools start at 7:45 am or earlier. School start times should be later because teens need sleep and it improves their overall academic grades.
Would you think naps are good during the day? Yes or no?? Well according to the article In source #2 it states “ The researchers found that napping improves memory, but not alertness”. However, i think that napping is not good and because if it only improved memory and not alertness that's NOT good at all!
How many times a day does one say they are tired? While walking through school hallways, work places, almost anywhere one can hear someone say, “I am so tired.” Many have routines that start early in the morning and end late at night. Running through the normal routines of school, work and any other scheduled events can eliminate one’s energy. Napping once a day can help the problem of being tired all the time, while promoting health, keeping one refreshed, relaxed and prolonging energy. Even though people have busy lives, they should make sleep a priority and take a nap every day.
Though many may not often think about why we sleep, most of us know that sleep makes us feel better, it refreshes the body and makes it better able to function following a good night of sleep. However, the fact that sleep makes us feel better and that going without sleep makes us feel worse only begins to explain why we need sleep.
School Should Begin Later in the Day Many teenage high school students are tired during the school day. distracting them from their studies. That is just one of the many good reasons. that the start time of school should be later in the day. Some people may say that the brain is not fully functional until 9:30 is just a matter of opinion.
Getting up to go to school really early in the morning is more upsetting than having to actually attend school. Almost all high school students would agree that high schools should start later in the morning. Even though high school students should be responsible
We are all too familiar with that dreadful screech of the alarm clock in the morning but for high school students across America the rooster crows at a ridiculous hour. High school students groggily stumble out of bed only to underperform academically due to a severe lack of sleep. In my case, particularly, I had to be present in my first class promptly at 7:24 AM. For many in similar situations to myself this means waking up at 6 AM just to have time to get prepared for a treacherous day of school running on abysmal hours of sleep. Brookwood High School needs to reevaluate their schedules and push back the beginning of the school day no earlier than 8:30 AM.
If school started earlier, teachers would gain many benefits that can only obtained by starting earlier in the morning. During the school day, teachers spend most of their time teaching. Following this, teachers spend their time immediately following the school day grading papers and preparing lesson plans. By starting earlier in the day it would give everyone the free time after work to do whatever it is that teachers enjoy doing. Getting plenty of time to relax will also make them more alert to help teach. All of these are solid reasons to start school earlier in the morning.
Don't you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before the sun rises just to become ready for school. Teenage brains do not begin to function that early considering many are tired from staying up late the previous night. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens do not retain enough shuteye, one study found that only 15% reported sleeping eight 1/2 hours on school nights. That fact was extremely true for me when I attended high school. I barely was able to wake up, get dressed, and be in school on time since I was so tired. In my opinion school days should start later, precisely in between 9- 10 o'clock. If the school day started later attendance would improve, students will be more prepared, and student's attitudes and grades may improve.
Should school start at 7:00 or should it start later in the morning? In Douglas High School, start times are at 7:30 in the morning. Changing the school schedule to a later start time would result in many other changes affecting a lot of people. According to the Sleep Foundation, "The change will affect the entire community, from students and parents to businesses, libraries, police, youth sports clubs, bus drivers and many others." Altering the school schedule would influence numerous aspects of people’s lives. Highly coordinated routines would have to be changed and adapted to the new schedule. A later release time would take time off of students’ free time in the afternoon. Clubs, sports, jobs, and other after-school activities would have
to allow students to get healthy sleep. More than 4 in 5 (82.3%) of U.S. middle, high, and combined public schools require students to attend class at times earlier than recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and American Medical Association.(Wake Up Calls) Our school is part of the 82.3% that start before 8:30 a.m and my opinion on it is that if we started school at 8:30 a.m. or even at 9:00 a.m. I would feel more rested and prepared for the day. I’m pretty sure a lot of other students would agree with
