Steve Jobs once said, ‘’ Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.’’ Too many people underestimate the revolutionary Apple Company. Apple is pure genius. It is the leader of our environment, our technology and our lifestyle. Too much people think that Apple is wicked for the environment and that it will affect us in the future. The reason they believe this is because they assume that Apple’s factories release gases that are harmful to the environment. Let me prove them wrong. Apple is a leader for the environment. The company takes rigorous approach for measuring their environmental impact. Moreover, according to the CERES Climate Declaration, we don’t know any company in this industry that goes so far in measuring, verifying and disclosing its carbon emissions, except for Apple. In addition, when they calculated their carbon emissions in 2012, it had actually dropped 3 percent. The company is committed to continuing to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. This newest project aims to convince suppliers to remove 50 times more greenhouse gases by 2030, about the same amount of pollution as Germany emits in a year. Ninety percent of Walmart’s overall greenhouse gas impact comes from its supply chain, and dozens of its major suppliers have already signed on to project gigaton. Walmart hopes that encouraging its suppliers to cut emissions will have a multiplier effect. One of those participating suppliers is the candy maker Mars, Inc, best known for M&M’s and Snickers bars, has set an forceful target of using “zero carbon” in its operations by 2040, eliminating all greenhouse gas emissions.
