“He Has His Mother’s Eyes” is a very sad and emotional message yet so powerful. This Particular ad is meant to provoke people 's thoughts and raise awareness all around the world; certain people may not have experienced such things but that does not mean it should be ignored. Child abuse is increasing by the year, which is why there is now a series of ads created by the powerful human rights organization Amnesty International to help stop abusive acts in general.
The advertisement portraits children baring horrible facial bruises and cuts. some children look as if they have a broken nose, while others with severe looking bruised eyes. The ad has a caption that illustrates the relationship to their mother 's features.

The picture of the advertisement is very moving itself.The very noticeable pitch dark background denotes terror,misery and despair giving us the idea of how appalling the situation is.The young boy’s depressed and innocent expression adds to the dreadful image and makes it’s viewers emotional.We can clearly see a black eye on his face showing he is a victim himself and this injury focuses on the fact of how gruesome and painful it can be to be a victim of such abuse.In the middle in white text is written,”HE HAS HIS MOTHER’S EYES”.This is the main and the most highlighted part of this advertisement and the font size and bright color makes it more visible than any other text in the image.The line is presented in a sarcastic manner adding slight humor to the criticism of this issue.When we say someone has his mother’s eyes we mean that person’s eyes resemble that of his mothers’.In this case,the young boy not only inherits his mother’s looks but also the sufferings and hardships that his mother had to go through due to physical abuse.I thought the way this message was presented makes the argument even more compelling.The ugly truth hidden under this sarcasm hits the viewers the most as they realize how easily this damage can transfer from one person to another,in this case from a mother to her son.In a smaller text at the bottom right of the picture it says to “report abuse”.This shows civic engagement that as a responsible citizen we should raise our voices if we

The advertisement by the Office of National Drug Control Policy strongly persuades the reader not to dabble with marijuana. In the image, the close-up of a crooked bicycle wheel sits on an asphalt road. At first glance, maybe the reader does not recognize what the image explains to the reader and what it is about. However, the viewer figures that there is a sad story in the ad. The viewer reads the story of this wheel in the upper right hand corner of the picture.

The difference is that this ad appeals to a specific but common type of relationship in an attempt to create a stronger association between the viewer who would most likely be interested in the drug, which in this case, would be “problem boys and problematic mothers” (Singh). The ad draws more similarities to our group’s ad by depicting the pre- and post-treatment that results in a more engaged student, and in this campaign, a young boy who is raising his hand in class. The narrator is the mother whose vocal tone assumes satisfaction with the drug and its efficacy with her son’s ADHD disorder. Therefore it would be most appealing to the parents, while our advertisement appeals directly to the high school student.

Another technique that was used in the commercial was showing the young children’s facial expressions while they were watching Trump discriminate others, and display disturbing behavior while being praised by his supporters. The children in general, convey certain feelings from the reader while watching the commercial. Children are seen as innocent and willing to learn, so when the viewer sees them watching Donald Trump speak as terribly as he does, emotions start to arise. The black screens that contain the phrases “Our children are watching.” and “What example will we set for them?” also sets a concerned tone. That concerned tone makes you question Donald Trump’s words and actions, as well as his qualifications to become the President. There is a highlight around the woman’s body leaving her look like she’s glowing. The weight scale is indicating that the woman has lost weight and she is shocked by how much she weighs now. The company displays this petite woman which advertises, if you drink their product then the consumers can look like her. This add is posing as a sex symbol for men and is showing younger women that they should look like this woman in the ad. This ad is also indicating that only ‘sexy’ and ‘healthy’ woman can produce healthier milk.
A lot is shown in this 30 second advert many symbols, different images, all kinds of colours and a small variety of people. The first thing we see is a person holding a magazine with a women's face on it, the name of the women on the magazine is Caroline Penri after this a celebration is revealed there is a lot of people everywhere smiling and laughing and drinking most of these people are white, then we see two children they were boys and they were also white. After the boys were shown, we see bottles of total effects (the product), next we perceive the same two boys shown before, though this time they seem to be upset. After the upset boys are shown, we see the woman that was shown at the beginning (Caroline Penri) in bed with a man next to her. The last thing the advert portrays is a variety of cakes with numbers on them the numbers were 27, 30, 33, 34 and 36. One thing that really stood out to me in this advert is the numbers they had used like a list, 1 wedding, 2 kids, 43 bottles of total effects, 7 signs, 185 tantrums, 378 pre-dawn starts and 9 birthdays.

To start, the entire background is black which creates a sense of void as if there is no life left in the girl. In contrast, the black background could be paired with the light gray image of the face and skull to seem like an x-ray photograph. In this case an x-ray image is most commonly associated with broken bones. This means that the girl was struck at thirty miles per hour and survived with only broken bones since there is an 80% chance he’ll live. Since the image is in grayscale rather than color, the use of lighting is more noticeable. Although the lack of color takes away from the humanization of the girl because her eyes are a soulless black, the lighting gives her a sense of innocence. With contrast to the black background and the dark areas of the skull, the tones of light gray around the girl’s face give her a sense of purity. Also, use of grayscale in the image to make it simpler since the colors are only black, gray, and white rather than broad spectrum of colors that could potentially have been included. This adds to the effect created by the structure of the ad since the image is “black and white” and the message is addressing only life and death.
