Why do you want to attend the AIM Program and what are your expectations for the one-week program? I believe that the AIM Program will be a challenging experience. I really enjoy pushing myself to new heights, AIM would be a new thrilling way to do that. I would also like to meet people from around the United States, I think it’d be so interesting to speak and get to know different people from different types of places. I want to learn how to drill and sail, I want to do all the things that a cadet would do. I want to be a part of the US Coast Guard Academy tradition. Meeting these heroes is what motivated me to apply. These brave warriors offered the ultimate sacrifice for their country. They became the best of the best. They became my role models and my idols. As I held my saber high above their heads, I realized what I wanted to do with my life; I want to be an aid to those in need while being the best I can be. I don’t want to be a hero. I just want to help find justice and peace in this world. I realized that day that the best way to do this would be to join the military. My original plan was to enlist, but I also want to go to college and continue to learn and better myself. Therefore, I made the biggest decision of my life. I decided to apply to the United States Military Academy. I decided to apply to stand side by side with some of the smartest, bravest, and toughest heroes America has to offer. FBLA has been such a defining point in my high school career and vital part in who I am today and even who I will be in the future. Becoming an officer would allow me to see to that other students that are new to FBLA also experience the same things as I have so that they could not only grow within FBLA but also in life. I hope to, as part of becoming a potential officer, that I can encourage others in FBLA as was done to me by older peers. Hopefully with this, we can have a large increase in membership and activity to improve our chapter.

My supervisor graduated from the same program, and she credits the program for her style of her management and for the strength of her clinical skills. I have recently learned that good friend of mine is currently in the program and has told me that the content you receive from the program is very applicable to the work that we are doing now. My military aspirations began at a very young age, growing up with a father in the United States Army and stepfather in the United States Marine Corps. My ambitions to serve as an Officer began at the age of fourteen when I realized I wanted to be a leader and mentor to the honorable and dedicated members of the United States Armed Forces. I am a prior candidate for the service academies and have experience in leadership roles in high school and in my Naval career; serving as Squadron Cadet Deputy Commander in Civil Air Patrol, RCPO in Basic Training, Deck Leader in “A” School, and as an ACFL at NIOC Maryland.
I believe that I would be a valuable member to the National Honors Society because I have skills that allow me to be a positive example to others, and I have exceptional grades. I am also an extremely hard worker that strives to assist others. I want to join this organization because I have acquired great leadership abilities from my time teaching karate classes and swim lessons. When I set myself a goal, I won't stop until I reach it. I want to be an officer because I think that ASB will give me an opportunity for a new experience during my time at Chaparral Middle School. I would like to get involved in our school student body. I really enjoy planning and doing things for my school. I would like to be chosen for this position because I would like to make our school a better place. I think that having fun is great but planning activities for our school such as the dances, helping advocacies, and also helping the new sixth graders welcome to Chaparral is going to be really fun but educating. Upon my entrance to high school, I found that I could become a leader of sailors, and while a more difficult path than enlistment, this newfound route enticed me. A presentation from an alumnus of the Naval Academy introduced me to the institution, and every word he said resonated within me, bringing me back to my viewing of the ships and the sailors. I left that presentation with a goal that I have not stopped working towards; to become a midshipman and subsequently an officer in the United States Navy.
I am interested in attending this seminar because I know it’s the place I belong. Since I was eight-years-old it has been my belief that one day I would attend the academy and accomplish my dreams and goals of making my country proud. I am the perfect candidate. I have determination, knowledge, motivation, and most of all, the desire for more. I want more knowledge, more teamwork, more of whatever it is that can make me better than I was the day before, and the Naval Academy can do that for me. For example the courses, Causes of War and Conflict Assessment and Prevention, would balance my existing knowledge of conflict and security. Currently as an Intelligence Analyst, I am trained and experienced with operating within existing combat zones; in roles designed to support the War-fighters. I am excited at the opportunity to learn the other components of my field, which could give me an enhanced understanding of what drives a war and what could stop a war. Lastly, this program offers a unique learning environment that not only sparks my curiosity, but also seems to be designed for my situation as a full-time employee. There are other online programs available, but American University integrates the online learning in an intuitive and reasonable way, which does not sacrifice the material being learned. Ultimately, my chief goals above all else is to protect the United States and make a difference, and I believe American University can help me obtain that goal. During my college years in the NROTC program, I will have more rules and guidance than most students of my year. Less than a year ago, I was eager for college for completely different reasons. Now, I look forward to military involvement and leadership opportunities. The decision to choose a military future was difficult and uncertain. It still remains on edge, however, for every bit of new information I receive, the more convinced I am that this is the right choice for me. I am a very strong advocate for defending individual beliefs, and although I may not agree with everything our government decides, I do support the country I was raised in.
