If you spent any time in a toy aisle this past holiday season, you would have noticed a subtle shift starting to occur in toys. The old standby toys are giving way to more modern app-enabled versions. Manufacturers are finding any way they can to update classic toys to engage with modern tablets. Barbie is enabled with cameras that play back via apps, Fisher Price play sets embed them for interactive play, and Lego building sets can be controlled by them. Unless manufacturers embrace and utilize tablets with their products, the tablet will take over the toy market.
Portable and Multifunctional
Today’s portable tablet is the size of a magazine and yet it brings with it all of the functions of books, videos, and music. Beyond that, it is truly a computer and with the right software can simulate just about any toy on the market. A quick review of the applications available show it can act as an art set, musical instrument, interactive doll, puzzle, or just about any board game on the market.
From a parent’s standpoint, there are many benefits to a tablet. It replaces an entire closet of toys and can travel just about anywhere so there is no more arguing over how many toys to pack. There are no more lost pieces and cleanup is a breeze. There are no more emergencies when the batteries run down and the only maintenance needed is an occasional recharge.
Unique and Interactive
The power of the modern tablet enables a level of interactivity not seen in toys before. Books and board games can embed live music and videos to enrich the experience. Works of art can be saved to be modified later or printed out multiple times. Music games can utilize the child’s favorite artists. These are just a few examples of how the tablet ...

Conclusion
Toys continue to evolve and change with the technology available at the time. The relative affordability of tablets today combined with the portability and multifunctional capabilities poses a real threat to traditional toys. Manufacturers have the opportunity today to embrace the technology and evolve their toys or find themselves left behind as a new generation of companies take over the market.

Toys R Us is the world's largest children's specialty retailer. The company operates toy stores throughout the world and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In this paper I will give a brief company history, cite where the competitive environment is coming from, strategies that were attempted, and where they stand today.
Experience is also an important aspect of this because Technologies can provide unique experiences through simulations and virtual reality. This cannot be done, however, without a very high standard of design. Through technologies that have been designed specifically to simulate, children can discover passions about themselves and unleash powerful ideas.
In this stage there are rules concerning how long the product can be marketed as new. After the initial introduction time the marketing strategy could and should change in order to have the product seen by as many potential clients as possible. Once an item is accepted word of mouth advertising can be just as helpful as the continued mass media marketing strategies already in use. There have been a number of products that when introduced to the market immediately began to be accepted. A few simple toys such as the Furbies and Tickle-me-Elmo had their moment is the spotlight when introduced prior to Christmas and for some reason flew from the shelves faster than retailers could get them. This type of acceptance into the market would be great for any product as long as the demand was constant. Like the toys, many of today’s technological gadgets are sought after and with the mention of a new upgraded version of the phone, tablet, laptop, or other electronic toy drives people to preorder and wait in line for the date of the items release to the market. This is the acceptance that every developing company would love to have. With the acceptance of their product they will be able to quickly recover the money spent on research and development and product validation. Despite being the next latest
In this Journal there was a study performed on early childhood students and their reaction to touch screen computers. The results were more negative rather than positive proving that it was more productive to use the mouse and keyboard for young children.
Technology continues to grow and become part of everyday Life. However, more often times than not it becomes an obsession; many are consumed by the latest technological advances. People become inclined to develop addictive tendencies by never turning off or placing their devices on silent. Many agree the modern devices have helped to improve daily life at home and work. As part of today’s culture revolves around technological advancements such as phones, iPad’s; these devices are what is handed to children not as a learning tool but to distract them. Technology is a part of today’s generation; and children will continue to grow with technology, thus having a detrimental effect on their cognitive function, sociocultural and their well-being.
For instance, a research had shown that about 78% of the tablet-owning parents let their kids under the age 11 play with the tablets in their homes, and there are 54% among these parents said that their children use tablets for educational purpose (Techvibes Newsdesk, 2013). Among those that did not allow their children play with tablet, there are 20% of them said that they will allow their kids to play if there are more educational content (Techvibes Newsdesk, 2013). From here, we can be analyse that the parents are demanding for more educational content in the tablet. This is also means that the current educations apps that available did not satisfied the demand of the consumers. Hence, this will be a very potential market for Ambang Mata to explore.

”Books will soon be obsolete in the schools...Scholars will soon be instructed through the eye. It is possible to touch every branch of human knowledge with the motion picture” (Thomas Edison). An idea that was destined for failure has now been made into the key source to get students and teachers more interacted while in a classroom setting. Tablets such as the iPad and the Microsoft surface have made this idea possible, showing students that there is another alternative to the traditional method which would be a printed version of the textbook. Tablets are portable computers that use a touchscreen as its primary input device, meaning that both keyboard and mouse are both physically located on the screen. Early Tablets were built to be used with a pen, today however tablets can be used with just one finger or multiple fingers with the support of multi touch input. Tablet have had a positive input on society especially students in school that are looking to get their work done in an engaging way and, not by moving a pen or pencil like it’s been done for decades. Tablets have proven to be the better tool for learning among students.
In the article by Chris Preston and Lee Mowbray (2008) a kindergarten classroom was the choice of installation of the interactive hardware. The justification for using this technology with Kindergarten children was their short attention span and the ability of the interactive whiteboard to keep them actively involved promoting learning (Preston and Mowbray 2...
Piaget would believe that technology could benefit children in different stages of cognitive development. In the sensorimotor stage, children can use visually and auditorily stimulating technology and applications to provide the child with sensory input. In the preoperational stage, technology could be used to exercise the child’s representational thought processing because using games on technology involves them being able to understand that if they are playing a game on an ipad that there might also be a physical version of the
While searching for a tablet for my two year old son, I found there were too many options available to make a hasty decision. After pouring numerous hours into researching the different possibilities, I was finally able to narrow my choice down to one, the nabi Jr. Nick Jr. Edition by Fuhu. The nabi Jr. is a 5 in. 16-gigabyte Android tablet that specifically targets preschool age children. It is advertised as a durable learning device, which comes complete with a thick rubber safety casing, parental controls, and pre-loaded educational software. It also comes with a jack for headphones and a memory card slot for extra storage. Although there were many good features about the nabi, what appealed to me most were the rechargeable battery and built-in camera and video recorder. These are helpful because as a parent I do not want to run out of batteries while on the go, and I can never have too many pictures of my children. After finally deciding to purchase the nabi, I decided it might be best to check out some reviews.
As more people began to access the Internet through smart phones and tablets rather than laptops and computers, it is not a surprise that they would also want to transform the American education system by bringing tablets into classrooms. In fact, a few schools around the country have already replaced textbooks with tablets and have seen improvements in students’ standardized test scores. Using tablets instead of textbooks is not only convenient and helpful, but it can also reduce the amount of paper wastes in school. However, it is not a good idea to completely transform textbooks with tablets with the current technology, for it can not only be damaging to the environment and costly to set up, but also might not be effective in improving K-12 education in the long run.
Technology has made our lives more productive in many different ways. One of the greatest inventions is Apple’s products. It leads to an evolution of tablet devices. An iPad or iPhone can act as a textbook, laptop, navigation, camera, notebook, gaming devices and more. It combines all the other devices into one, which allows us to manage our time effectively.
