Summary
This paper demonstrates the four topics that I believe are important to the field of ABA. However, they simply touch upon the many topics that are used in ABA on a daily basis. I chose ethics and collaboration particularly because I believe they are the foundation to the work of a BA. While learning how to apply the ABA strategies will come over time. I believe that my current strengths lie in my ability to collaborate with others. I am comfortable asking questions and realize that I still have a lot to learn. I will seek support from my supervisor and collaborate with co-workers to ensure I am always providing services that are in the best interest of the client.
If collaboration and ethics were my favorite topics, experimental design would have been my least favorite, or most feared, concept. This topic scared me the most when I entered this program. I had rarely looked at a graph, and I had certainly never created one. This daunting task made me question whether I had made the right decision to begin the program at ASU. I had also never used excel. It’s hard to remember the sleepless nights of trying yet again to design my graphs. Although

I had successfully graphed data in my earlier classes, there was no greater satisfaction than completing the graphing workbook in SPE 569. As I reflect on this assignment, I am reminded of the sense of satisfaction I felt after successfully completing the course. While the tutorials were used consistently, I was amazed at my ability to develop the hypothetical data needed to complete each assignment, as well as the ease at which I constructed the graphs. My interest and professional development goals are one in the same.
Following my completion of my program, I will begin rereading my textbooks. I have already purchased a study guide with flash cards to assist me with preparing for the exam. I have recently been reviewing the Department of Education website in my area in order to register for autism related workshops. My completion of my program at Arizona State University is just the beginning in my quest to gain knowledge to assist other with ABA.
My career goal is to begin searching for a position in ABA. Ideally the position will include supervision toward gaining the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) hours required to sit for the exam. I am excited to begin gaining practical experience and making the connection with my
coursework.
Explain how teachers use ABA without realizing its impact on their day-to-day interactions with their students.
The authors of this article begin by defining autism spectrum disorder. There has been significant increase in ASD cases have occurred in the past 10 years, and many of these students are enrolling in a higher education institution. Autism presents challenges, in general, but students that enroll in a higher education institution are at risk of other issues. The article discusses these challenges as well as the transition from high school to college from actual students with autism. Using these challenges,

Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.
Completed Studies involving ABA therapy have shown improvements in communication, social relationship’s, and school for children who suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorder. Results also showed that ABA also increased participation in family and community activities. MY theory involves creating individual customized intervention plans that will addresses the specific need of the participant, while also teaching the parent. Logically parents are our first teachers, and with that being said if parents are trained the progress would be more significant than without their participation.

It's great you were able to locate and start an internship in ABA, and you can implement what you are learning with your work. There are great opportunities to opening your own clinic and have a diversified team of professionals that can collaborate therapy for various age group and clients. I am looking forward to learning from you, Stacy, and our classmates. I have so much to take away from this class as a newbie in this field. Best wishes in this class and future
There a several methods within ABA that guide professionals in helping their clients acquire new skills, overcome personal conflicts and behaviors. Both desirable and undesirable behaviors can be altered with different techniques under ABA. For the cases of Brenda and Mrs. Riley I will answer questions related to Behavior chaining and the use of the token economy.

This February, I had the opportunity to chair a Valentine’s cards service project for the nursing home residents in my community. The main purpose behind this was to spread love to those who may need it. While I was in my Medical Assisting program at school, I was able to do my externship at an Internal Medicine office and work with a lot of elderly patients. Many of them garnered so much joy by just being greeted politely and acknowledged, even during a doctor’s visit. With two other members of National Honor Society, we were able to deliver the cards directly to residents during their entertainment. It gave me such a feeling of joy to be able to do something so simple, to bring happiness and love into someone else’s life.
The second AA meeting that I attended on July 5th, 2016, was for women only, located in Bridge House on Camp street. I saw the gatherings of women of different age in front of the building, they were chatting with each other, smoking cigarettes. I had a feeling that they knew each other quite well, so going to the meeting at this particular location was not new for them.
I am currently looking for work as an Administrative Assistant with the goal of becoming a Business Administrator or General Manager in the future. I have been in the workforce for a couple of decades now and have had the opportunity to experience many different career paths. Administrative Assistants have a broad range of duties that I think would utilize and hone my existing skills as well as offer me insight into how different departments function; this combined with my work history would make me a great future manager.
