An internship defined as a formal program to provide practical experience for beginners in an occupation or profession. It’s easy to learn about something in the classroom and take a test on it and move on; but when you actually do the work in the real life, you see that you do not understanding all and how much more you need to learn first. My internship was at ArroGen Advance Forensics; and the internship gave me a lot more than just experience. While I was there I performed many different tasks and learned lots of skills.
In my transition to life after high school, I know that I will utilize the skills that I have developed through my leadership. As I plan to attend college in the fall I can’t help imagining the kind of student I will be there. Will it be harder to make myself stand out in a larger environment when I come from such a small school? Though questions like this run through my mind, I know I am prepared to try my best to show those around me that I am someone to be taken seriously. I plan on becoming a Resident Assistant after freshman year so that I can help my peers feel safe and part of the college community. Additionally, I intend on continuing my involvement in student-run clubs and I am interested in working with the administration to make
I had worked mainly as a server prior, and though I had watched family in management, I had little insight into office environments. Additionally, most servers with whom I worked were eager and excited to do their jobs. Living wages depended on it. Government positions seem to be filled with less vigor, though I am not sure if the candidates or work environment are responsible. Many servers worked their jobs with no intentions of making it a career, while many working for the government have satisfactorily achieved what they sought. A humbling experience, this internship has prepared me for the next step in life. I am relieved for the transition period between studying and doing, and am doubtlessly convinced I am making the right choices for my
Upon hearing of the position of Administrative Assistant II with the Department of Accounting at Texas State University, I was extremely excited at the prospect of providing excellent customer service to the students, staff, and faculty of the Accounting Department. Also, it has inspired my drive to work in higher education to support students by being as helpful and informative as possible.

Initially when I was looking for an internship, my goal was to find one that complemented my double major in criminology & criminal justice and psychology. During my search, I found some reputable organizations, but quickly discovered that they either required an extended training/orientation period or were not compatible with my schedule. Thus in finding the Urban Education Leaders Internship Program (UELIP) of the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), which primarily focuses on an interest in education and public policy, I was skeptical that my interest in criminal psychology would be met. However, I quickly learned that this was not the case. Not only did my internship with DCPS indirectly appeal to my major, but it also provided me with a valuable experience in which I acquired fundamental skills and learned more about myself.
My internship was something that I could have never imagined. Initially, I thought it would be a situation where I would just do journal entries all day, and I even feared that I would realize that accounting was not for me. Luckily, neither of these were the case. I found something that I thoroughly enjoyed doing and I was beyond eager to prove that I was ready to handle a full-time position. The University of Alabama has prepared me for my internship in ways that I did not expect and I was very grateful for the high expectations that were demanded from me in class so it was easy to translate that into the
