Butterflies are established all over the world and in all sorts of environments: cold and hot, moist and dry, high in the mountains and at sea level. The largest parts of butterfly species are found in tropical areas, in particular tropical rainforests. There is a variety of sizes butterflies come in. The worlds smallest known butterflies, the blue pygmy found in southern California, has a wing span of just over half an inch. The largest species, New Guinea’s QueenAlexandras birdwing, can measure up from wingtip to wingtip up to twelve inches. Lots of butterflies migrate in order to stay away from any unfavorable environmental conditions like cold weather. Butterfly migration is not well understood. Most migrate somewhat short distances like the Common Buckeye the Painted Lady, and the Red Admiral but a few like some Monarchs migrate thousands of miles.
As highly developed insects, butterflies and moths have a complete life cycle. When stating a complete life cycle or life span this represents that there are four separate stages. Each of every life span looks absolutely different. It also provides a diverse function in the life of the insect. Butterflies' most important structural adaptation is found in their wings and how butterflies and moths utilize them to cover up themselves. The wings of many butterflies have evolved to imitate their surroundings; a particularly good example is with the green hairstreak. These butterflies have wings that are shaped and colored to appear precisely just like the leaves where the butterfly is found on; implicating that it is extremely more difficult for predators to find.

...pretty colors and flashy. The butterfly has large wings of form of a hook. Usually butterflies have these colors: chestnut, black, yellow, blue, dark green, white, and coffee among other colors. Many butterfly species have eye spots on their wings to confuse and scare predators. Unlike camouflage that is when the butterfly blends in with its surroundings. In order to make them harder to find, other butterfly wings are designed to blend in with their surroundings. Some butterflies are toxic to eat; by doing this, it discourages any animals or predators from eating them. Lastly migration, the reason some butterfly species recur to migrate is in order to avoid colder weather. These species is what has kept human kind fascinating. A butterfly gives us lots of inspiration because they represent the character of being independent and strong, especially passive and quiet.
In The Time of Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, the rule of Rafael Trujillo directly affected all four Mirabal sisters, Patricia, Dede, Minerva, and Maria Mirabal.
ImageText BoxImageOne of the biggest threats to the environment of Ontario is the Gypsy Moth (Lymantria dispar dispar). The species itself is native to Europe and Asia. How this affects us is by weakening trees across Ontario and North America. The first time the gypsy moth was found in Ontario was 1969. The gypsy moth can be found in southern Canada (Ontario), New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. It is known to weaken trees and the caterpillar form live in trees and during most outbreaks its caterpillar feces would fall from the trees to the ground or even on top of humans. The average Gypsy Caterpillar can grow 5-6 centimeters long. With five pairs of blue spots and six pairs of bright red dots on their back. The female moth are white and can fly on the other hand, the male moth are brown and can also fly. The female have a 5cm wing span but male have a 2.5cm wing span. The gypsy moth usually lives in open forests and other forests and take up at least 20% of the space. The Gypsy moth are about 4cm long, tan coloured and can be located on tree trunks, furniture, and buildings. (OFAH Invading Species Awareness Program, 2012)
Diving Bell and the Butterfly 1. What is the difference between a. and a. How do stroke survivors, or anyone with chronic illness, and health providers remain hopeful and “realistic”? What values are involved in their hope? Stroke survivors, or anyone with chronic illness, and health providers remain hopeful and “realistic” by counting on each other. The patients, while being realistic about the outcome of their disease, stay hopeful that each of their health care providers will give them the appropriate care and will make sure that they can live with their disease in the best way possible.

The influence of the people around you has a great impact on your life. In In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez and in Journey to Jihad by Ben Taub, radicalization is due to the influences of others. Minerva’s rebellion was caused by both Sinita and Trujillo. Patria’s rebellion was caused by the influences of Minerva and the Church. Jeojen’s radical actions were due to his girlfriend, as well as his neighbor. Minerva, Patria, and Jeojen all epitomize the significance of influential people within one’s life.
Throughout the novel, In The Time of The Butterflies, three sisters are able to experience Trujillo’s dictatorship. The novel is set during the years 1943 through 1994 in the Dominican Republic. The novel follows four sisters throughout their lives and describes how each sister joins the revolutionary cause at the time. In the novel, In The Time of The Butterflies, three sisters are able to exhibit courage in their own way which allows them all to join the revolution against Trujillo.
It is challenging to analyze phenotypes when there is little information known about genes. With the moths, nobody knows which of the moth's genes are responsible for the changes in color, so a genetic analysis is extremely difficult to do.
Tribolium Confusum originated in Africa and is now found all around the world, particularly in the tropical and semi-tropical regions (Canada grain commission 2013). These beetles are most abundant in the flourmills, warehouses, bakeries, and homes in the U.Kingdom, United States and Australia (Stuart M Bennett 2003). In United States it is more commonly found in northern sates where the climate is warm (Smith and Whitman 2001). Tribolium Confusum is most commonly found in warmer climate and humidity and it survive...
The “Butterfly’s Tongue” is a film directed by Jose Luis Cuerda that transports us to Spain during the Second Spanish Republic and draws a clear and authentic image of the years before the civil war and the transition to it. The main focuses of the film are education, the new generations, and the continual battle (first "civilized" and then violent) between two completely contrasting ideologies for trying to control these two fundamental social elements. Cuerda masterfully manages the scenic positioning of her characters in several of the scenes to demonstrate this ideological struggle. An undoubted demonstration of this is the arrangement where the little Moncho (Manuel Lozano) is in the midpoint, while Don Gregorio (Fernando Gomez) and the

Insect, small, air-breathing animal characterized by a segmented body with three main parts—head, thorax, and abdomen. In their adult forms, insects typically have three pairs of legs, one pair of antennae, and in most instances, two pairs of wings. Insects rank among the most successful animals on Earth. About one million species of insects have been identified so far, which is about half of all the animals known to science. That is why for every pound of human on the earth there are 10 pounds of insects. So that is why there are many reasons why insects are so successful, their exoskeleton, their size, their body function, the way they reproduce, and their development of metamorphosis.
Metamorphosis can also be called transformation and deals with the idea of physical and mental growth, and this growth can signify positive results. For example, the metamorphosis of the yolk into the embryo, a tadpole into a frog, a bud into a blossom or the transformation of a maggot into an adult fly and a caterpillar into a spectacular butterfly. All these changes represent progress and development and therefore cause the organism to improve and better adapt to the environment. Usually, metamorphosis in organisms is accomplished so the sole purpose of evolution. But there are times when metamorphosis takes an ugly in nature. This is when a transformation is not needed but happens because of a certain mutation in the body or a pathological change in the structure of a particular body tissue and this can cause cancer and even death in organisms.
Without evolution, and the constant ever changing environment, the complexity of living organisms would not be as it is. Evolution is defined as a process that results in heritable changes in a population spread over many generations (8).Scientists believe in the theory of evolution. This belief is based on scientific evidence that corroborates the theory of evolution. In Figure 1 the pictures of the skulls depict the sequence of the evolution of Homo-sapiens. As the figure shows, man has evolved from our common ancestor that is shared by homo-sapiens. The change of diet of homo-sapiens over time has thought to contribute to the change in jaw structure and overall skull shape.
