If you know my sister, you know that she has a tendency to make our car, Yolanda, come in contact with objects it shouldn't come in contact with. Within twenty-four hours of having her license, she already ran the front of the car into the garage and this collision was only the beginning to her and Yolanda’s adventures. Between the dents, scratches, and broken mirrors, my dad was starting to get tired of fixing the damage that she caused to Yolanda. Finally after countless repairs, my dad decided that there should be punishment for every time he had to repair the car. First, he started with just not fixing it all together but that backfired when my sister smashed the side so bad that she couldn't latch the driver door. After fixing the aftermath
of that unwanted contact, he said that every time she hit something after that, she would lose the car for a week. I didn't think it would be long before that occured. Sure enough, she knocked the passenger side mirror off the next day. Luckily, our parents weren't there when she came home with the dangling mirror. She preceeded to tell me than she was backing up when the branch of a tree knocked it off. I still don't think a branch has enough force to knock off a mirror due to the fact that branches are pretty mobile, but that's the story she gave me to believe. My sister was very nervous she was going to lose the car because not enough time has passed between the warning of the punishment and the accident for my dad to forget about it. So, we attempted to duct tape it back on and it worked for about ten minutes until it fell off again. My sister was still upset that she was going to lose her car so, like the good sister I am, I decided to take the blame. She wanted me to tell my parents that i took the car to get gas and got to close to the pump. I didn't want to use that excuse because it would have caused me to be grounded for a very long time seeing as how I was still fifteen and didn't even have my permit. Then, I came up with the story that I hit the mirror with my softball bag and it fell off. My dad jumped right to work with fixing it when he heard that because softball was involved and he’d do anything if it is remotely related to softball.

“Here I am, saying [HIV] can happen to everybody… Even me, Magic Johnson” (Johnson 292). Tragedies happen to everybody, even superstars. However, it is how people deal with these tragedies that develops true character. In My Life, by Earvin Johnson, his story demonstrates perseverance, hard-work, and leadership. With these values, Johnson overcame adversity and rose to the heroic status that he now holds.
As a young girl, I was never fond of the name Anna. The name came along with too much baggage.. Unknowingly, people would constantly call me the wrong name, and some people, disregarding my opinion, even created strange nicknames for me. Over the years, I have been called a variety of names including Annie, Ann, Anna, Annabelle, Anne Frank, banana, banana boat, etc. Frankly, there are just too many variations of the name “Anna”. Being an extremely common name, almost everywhere I go, whether it be school or the grocery store, I always seem to find another “Anna”. Although nameberry.com tells me that “Anna” means grace, it actually means unique, intelligent, and affectionate.
When my family and I could feel the warm fine sand, the gentle cool breeze, witness the crystal clear aquamarine ocean and swaying palm trees, and smell the sweet fragrant scent of plumerias, we must have gone to heaven. The enchanting beauty of this Hawaiian island, Maui, gives us a sense of warmth, peace, and serenity. In search of paradise, we explore the infamous Road to Hana, snorkel with underwater marine life, and journey back in time to experience the true customs, traditional cuisine and the original song, music and dance of Hawaii at a luau.

Dancing her way through the aisle to receive her Deans Key award, no one would have ever thought that senior AnnMary Chemmachel battled with anxiety during her nursing education at Lewis University.
The person that I see as a person of passion would have to be Lauren Fristrom. Lauren is my cousin who is 30 years old and is a Registered Nurse. I chose her because this Thanksgiving she had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her that I have need to make the decision between a Veterinarian and a Registered Nurse. She asked me, “Which job interested you more”. I told her that I loved to help people and animals, but I had no idea which job I would have more fun and experiences with.
I originally planned a very short trip to see Angela Meade in Bellini's Norma at the Met and one NYCB Nutcracker, but my partner wanted to go along, so I made it a week trip and bought us both tickets to a second Nutcracker (he didn't go to the other shows). I told him he could fill the other nights with plays or musicals (what he likes) because he complained I usually fill up the vacation with a ballet or opera every single night. However, he decided he wanted us to have casual leisurely evenings at dinners instead. I was fine with that too and let him choose the places. In the past I have dominated what we do on vacations, and he has complained and tends to stay home nowadays, so this trip I let him decide everything besides the Norma and
One of my fondest memories with Sami was when her and I went to the Mall of America and we almost got lost. When we were at the Mall of America, we were walking around and we went way too far down and walked past the restaurant Dick’s Last Resort. At that moment we ran all the way back to Carona’s, where my mom was waiting for us.
My eyes were tearing up even before started. I knew from my past that it will hurt, and I know how much. They then started.
About three years ago, a show arrived on the Hallmark Channel that changed my life forever. I had no idea at that point how it would ultimately impact my life, but there was something about Cedar Cove that I liked. At first, it wasn't even my favorite show, but I remember noticing the sweet Peggy Beldon and loving her instantly. It wasn't until the following summer that I discovered this character was played by Barbara Niven, and it really wasn't even until it was preparing to go into production for the third season that I truly connected with this phenomenal lady. I was captivated by her character's story in season two (the slap heard around the world that I will never forget as long as I live), but as I began to discover the woman behind
I apologize for my no call no show today! This morning was not a morning that I could win. Something you don't know about me is that I suffer from Bipolar Depression. For me this has been a struggle that I have been dealing with in undergrad that I have not until this past year really learned what is going on with my body. This morning was the final blow to my self that yet again that I am going to have to change medications or something in that nature will have to happen. I have been in denial telling myself that it is that I am not getting enough sleep or this or that, but this morning I could not will myself to get myself out of bed and that is a problem. I am taking the appropriate steps in contacting my doctor to get an appointment
There are many peers who have made a difference in my life, but when discussing this, there is one particular individual who has a distinction. Her name is Jalynn Sierra Borders, one of my best friends in the world. Jalynn has not only challenged me academically, but she keeps me on my toes in whatever I do, and I try to do the same with her. We met in 6th grade, and from watching her mature as a student, she helped me mature as well. My friends and I are constantly in academic competition with each other which is why we are such great friends and successful in the classroom and community. Jalynn truly inspires me to do my best academically at school, and I am grateful to her that she pushes me when I make that ‘C’ on a math test. She’s
A few months ago, I was involved in my first car accident. I think it's pretty remarkable that this was my first accident, considering that I've been driving for almost thirty years. The accident itself was pretty traumatic. I was at a complete stop behind two cars that were turning left, when a large van traveling at about thirty-five mph rear-ended my car. I was fortunate to escape with only some large bruises and a very sore knee; however, the car didn't fare quite as well. What was more amazing than the accident itself were the actions of the young man who ran into my car. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he lied to the police and to his insurance company about the events that took place. His version was that he was driving behind me when I ran into the car in front of me, then bounced back into his van. Perhaps if he'd had more time he might have been able to concoct a more credible story, one that actually made sense. In the end, the police and his insurance company saw through his lies and everything was taken care of. But in the meantime, my car was towed away and I was left with no car. What's amazing to me is that he never got out of his van to see if anyone was injured, and he never apologized for smashing two cars and causing me the inconvenience of being without a car for five weeks while the damage was repaired.
Teens deal with conflict on a day-to-day basis. This holds true especially for Jared. You could say Jared was your average everyday teenager. He plays the guitar in his free time and has a great number of friends. But as for girlfriends, that’s a different story.
