As students, we may think that we have not yet reached the stage of our lives that what we are doing is giving a big impact to the world. But in this project, I learned that in order to make a big difference to the world, you must start by making a difference to a person’s life. Being involved with the community is something that broadens our view of the world. It makes us aware and sensitive to the needs of many wherein it also brings out our sense of servitude to others. In simple situations we encounter in our everyday lives, there are endless opportunities to be able to think of ways to help and to serve our community. With that said, this is what our Joy to the World project aims for. Our Joy to the World project service experience was both challenging and fulfilling to do. Being able to come up with a project that aims to raise safety awareness messages through social media was a challenge for us. Not only did we lack the time of doing it, but also we needed to catch the attention of our target audience. Thankfully, the concept we thought of in sharing and posting our important information has lead to continuous public viewing on the Facebook page that we made. Knowing that a lot of people commented and were interested with the messages that we were posting, this was the most proud moment of our group as we can finally say that …show more content…
This activity gives a review on what factors to consider that would be beneficial to a great deal of people when it comes to implementing projects. In this way, not only are doing something that makes the world a brighter place, but it also enhances the overall well-being of the people involved. If only more people would think this way, then maybe the combined efforts of all who want to make a difference will surely change the world to be
“Making a Difference” by June Callwood is an expository essay created to inspire the reader to make a change in the world around them, and to stand up for what they believe in. By just doing simple, positive things, people can make a huge impact on their lives and the lives of people around them. June Callwood, author of “Making a Difference”, changes the way many people see the world by describing scientific research and telling the stories of people who performed small, random acts of kindness that made a huge difference in people’s attitudes and the community around them.
People’s lives are changed every day by their actions and experiences. This past summer, I participated in a community service project, an experience that opened my eyes in many ways. I was a volunteer at the County Memorial Hospital. In my time as a volunteer at the hospital, I was able to meet patients and staff members from all over the world and learn about their life experiences. Listening to all of their stories has made me truly appreciate everything which I have.

This year in AVID, all 8th grade students went on a trip to the Milpitas Pantry. This field trip for AVID wasn’t just to go look around and a have the day off, it had a purpose. As AVID students, we were given the assignment to create a video, along with three classmates, that explained the benefits of donating, or not, to the Milpitas Food Pantry. Our video would then be shared throughout TRMS and everyone would get to see. From watching the videos, Students learn that donating to the Jack Emery Food Drive, which goes to the Food Pantry, can make a major difference in someone’s life. The project’s purpose for AVID taught me, along with my group, how to influence others into making a difference to help their community
The choices we make early in life have an enormous impact on our future. I have always known that I wanted to directly impact people’s lives. My personal experiences have had a large impact on my motivation to accomplish all my dreams. In the future, I would love to influence another generation of students to soar for their dreams.
A big question asked amongst people sometimes is “Can a teenager make a difference, and if they do is it positive?” a lot of people just brush it off sometimes and think that because they’re young and don’t have the same experience as some older people, they are bound to make mistakes. This is not always the case, as some teens can make a difference, whether it be in large scale that affects the world or in a smaller scale affecting the community or society. There are a couple kids that have make a difference, although some of the things they have done might be greater compared to others, they still have made a difference in where they live and the people in their communities.
If we open our lives and give service to those less fortunate than ourselves, we allow our hearts to receive immeasurable happiness. When we sacrifice our time to help someone in need, whether it is a great or small need, we become a part of their life and can help alleviate heavy burdens. Making time to help people in need creates opportunities for us to develop new and lasting relationships. Serving our fellowmen allows the best in each of us to shine through and we can become examples to our children.
Volunteering enables an individual to make a positive impact on his or her community, while empowering the individual to better his or her life. This summer, I had the opportunity to volunteer at many diverse locations. From the hospital to the local library, I truly value my experience and treasure everything it has thought me. Volunteering lets us experience and learn things that we otherwise would not have learned; volunteering opens doors for us that we may not have been able to open before. Volunteering provides us with guidance and tolerance which we may use in the future to aid us in our decisions. At first glance, volunteering may seem to only benefit those who are helped, but on a deeper level, one can realize that volunteering benefits the volunteer as much as, if not more than, those who are helped. Not only does volunteering make a difference in one’s community, but it also helps the volunteer become a smarter, happier, friendlier and more caring individual.
“Today’s a Beautiful Day to Save Lives” I say aloud while sipping my morning coffee. I am fully equipped and dressed up to go to the hospital, my stethoscope and Maserati keys are sitting on the burnished kitchen table, and my dream job is calling me. Eleven years ago it was a dream, now it is a reality. Every time I hear this phrase “Today’s a Beautiful Day to Save Lives” it motivates me for my busy day, as this Mantra uplifts me on a daily basis. Not only do I have a purpose in my life, but this also inspires me to help others. Every morning begins with huge responsibility and ends with great satisfaction.
Over the course of my professional life, I have become increasingly involved in project management roles. Doing so has made me aware of the many varied challenges that can face projects and the project managers who are charged with bringing them through to completion. The success or failure of projects, in whatever economic, political or social field, rests not just on the quality of the project’s goals, but also on the abilities of those involved in the project – and above all those who are managing it – to bring it to successful completion. To do this, project managers need to be equipped with a very wide range of skills, many of which are unrelated to the type of project itself. So, for example, a project manager of an engineering project must not only have engineering
Raising community awareness to students will teach them the importance of being involved in the community. Students being able to give back to the community will prepare them for their journey to being a positive role model or servant leader.
When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.
...rks. In a word, the MA experience was considered to be a bridge that combines the student learning with working skills, it would be of great help for my future career.
Throughout this term, my fellow classmates and I have had a chance to participate in a group project with two or three of our peers. The general topic was a vivid problem in a industry. Our class had a very wide and diverse sets of topics: from Styrofoam, to industrial hacking, to corruption in an influential international organization like FIFA, and so many more. Our group decided to develop a project named “Outsourcing and the price we pay for brands”. The name itselves is somewhat self-explanatory, however the problem is so much more complicated and interesting. In this paper, many struggles and concerns, of the group and of my my own, will be unfolded as I reflect the progress of this project.
The thought of community service was a bore to me before I began my volunteer work. I dreaded starting my community service although I knew I had to do it. Where I earned my hours did not even matter to me. I just wanted to get it over with. To my surprise it was not what I expected. Community service was not a painful experience; it was a very enjoyable and beneficial experience.
