Working with Individuals: as a School Psychologist
Children are our future of the world. They are the ones who will create the next generation. Therefore, it is important to start young within children, teaching them right from wrong. It is important preventing them from following the same negative patterns as kids of today. Many kids today do not really have a strong discipline, love and support at home. In general being a parent does not come easy or, with a manual on how to be a positive effective parent. There is a different factor that causes children to be disobedient or out of control. Or sometimes the parent can be doing everything right and shows much love as they can for their child. But, the child is given a negative and avoidance feedback.
There is always a reason why a child acting a certain way. Often times they do not know how to communicate what their problem is. Tends to let it all build up inside and cope with it by doing drugs, joining a gang, disrespecting their parent, drinking alcohol and other bad behaviors. Sometimes children bring the same negative energy to the school and misbehave by fighting or disrespecting their teacher. In the Human Service field, there is a School Psychologist who reaches out to children and find out the exact problem they are experiencing.

However, each state varies with what is needed to be a psychologist license holder. School psychology has to renew their license by completing a renewal application and meeting the required fees. For example, when their current license expires at midnight he or she has to reapply. They will need to receive a renewal notification from the department a friendly reminder, always keep the current address on file updated. For a worst case scenario, if failed to renew the license will result in a license being placed in delinquent status it does not matter if it is an active or inactive license.
Children develop a sense of acceptable behaviour based on the methods employed by their parents. Negative behaviour comes as a result of the child feeling insecure, becoming aggressive, angry, antisocial, demanding, dependant, undisciplined and also developing a hateful desire to ‘get back at the world.’ These bad behavioural aspects are outcomes reached as the parent has reacted to become over-controlling with orders, reminders of poor behaviour and warnings. With the parent being the unquestioned boss, it is common for the child with an authoritarian in the household to feel irritable, and get angry and temperamental quite quickly. As a result of being given orders and constant reminders on their behaviour it is no wonder why some children experience...
Although I chose not to pursue a career in health psychology, I find that the fields of psychology that appeals to include families, children, and parents who are struggling to maintain control and are in need of guidance, which include the following:

There are many key components to shaping a young child 's life and could be better implemented through professionalism. I like to reflect back to the “Children See Children Do” video, which clearly proves children imitate/learn verbal and nonverbal cues from adults. As a teacher, it is necessary to be the best version of yourself everyday, in order to pass those actions along. This not only affects a child 's ethics but it also generates better behavior which affects the parents lives in a more positive way outside of the classroom. This module has taught me many different techniques when working with a misbehaved child. For instance, I plan to use self awareness in my classroom to keep a positive tone and eliminate poor body language. I will also use breathing methods for children as well as myself to establish a well-rounded classroom. Professionalism is such an important role in shaping our young child 's lives and it deserves to be stressed more which will in turn create a better learning
There are many approaches to parenting and everyone has their own preferences as to what they think is best. In a fast paced rush around society, it is hard to know what the best choices are for your children. There is a struggle to balance what needs to be done with what can be done, and this has negative and positive feedback on the children. Parents play a critical role in shaping and guiding their children into functional confident adults. An effective parent will learn as they teach in order to grow into understanding with their children.
The behavior of a child grows in a patterned manner just as the body. Like the physical growth, behavior too is strongly influenced by the home and other surroundings in which the child grows up. While we all have a lifetime to develop varying aspects of ourselves, it is the childhood period that is the most important in acquiring many tools. The strongest and the longest environment to affect the child are the parents. Most parents consider it their responsibility as well as the privilege to provide the best possible environment favorable to child's physical growth. However, often they tend to forget about the behavioral aspect in a child's development. The more a parent knows about the changes that take place in a child's behavior when he grows up, the more successful they can be in guiding the child along the complicated path leading to maturity. The attitude of the parents towards a child is what can make all the difference.
When raising a child, an important factor of parenting is the method used to discipline and teach children. Should a parent focus on rewarding the goods, or disciplining the wrongs? The question comes down to teaching through fear or teaching through pleasure. And the most important question, which is more effective and the best for a child? Although it is easiest to just discipline a child, psychologists actually claim that positive reinforcement is the best for teaching a child rather than negative reinforcement.
One reason the career of Psychology is a good choice for me is, because of the nature of the job and all the responsibilities that come with it. In order to become a Psychologist, you must obtain a doctoral degree and; depending on your occupation in the field; certification or license.

Parental care is one of the characteristics of only humans and some other animals. We – humans – care about our children and their future. That’s why parents discipline their children and always try to raise them as good people. Each couple of parents have their own technique to teach their children what is right and what is wrong. There are a lot of studies that worked on those techniques to show their impact on the behavior and future of the children.
Some child development experts agree that children usually misbehave for one of four basic reasons. One of them is attention. When children believe they “belong” only when they are noticed. For example, Although children know how to put on their shoes, children refuse to dress it and they want to be dressed by others. In this situation, parents and teachers give positive attention at other times, ignoring inappropriate behavior and encouraging, redirecting or setting up special times.Secondly, children think that if they are in control or are providing that no one can ‘ boss them around.’For example, the child drop his pencil to the floor. The teacher said ‘Ali please take pencil on the floor’.But, Ali did not do anything and said that I do not want to take it, you take it.Although the teacher warn Ali again, Ali do not do anything. The teacher warn again loudly and she remind classroom orders. After these recall, Ali take pencil. But, always children do not keep calmer. So, parents or teachers wait children to be calmer, and they talk to children about rules, their behavior. They give limited choices or setting ressonable limits. Also, they encourage children to a more acceptable activity. In addition, when children believe that they belong only by hurting others, because they fell hurt themselves. For example, while children stand sequence in order to give their artifacts and talk about it, Defne push their friends and she do not wait for her turn.Because she want to go first, she hurt their friends.ın this situation, the main teacher talk to Defne, she says that I understand you.You want to show and talk about it, but other friends want to it, too.you wait for your turn just like your friends. When children occur these behavior, teacher and parents talk to about the child’ feelings. Also, they spend more time the children. But, they do not blame the child, they encourage strengths.Lastly, inadequancy cause children to misbehave. When children believe they belong only when
School counselors do a variety of tasks to help students. They assist in the decision making process. These decisions affect the academic and personal lives of the students. Thus, counselors play an important role in students lives. Counselors work as part of a team with teachers, nurses, administrators, and other psychologists or psychiatrists to resolved student's learning and/or behavior problems. They also, if the job entails, evaluate the effectiveness of progams and procedures. School counselors work in all types and levels of schooling. This includes both private and public elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, colleges, and universities.
Adults are in charge of making sure they explain how they want things and to help the children understand and learn behaviors that meet their expectations. While children learn this, it helps them develop positive social relationships. As a result the children will develop a sense of self-discipline that leads to positive self-esteem (Guidance for Effective Discipline). Discipline is only effective if adults provide positive attention to children's desirable behaviors, which will result in helping the children strengthen and refine them. Before adults can stop undesired behaviors, they must identify the positive behaviors that they want to see in the children. Some strategies for helping children learn behaviors is listed below:
Children sometimes get away from their parents. Meaning, children that do not follow instructions or rules grow up to be disrespectful and have bad attitudes. Parents that do not focus on their children behavior will cause problems for them as an adult. For example, if one is not taught to speak
I always believed that you could see the effects of bad parenting, by studying the youth of today opposed to the youth of sixty years ago. The effects of bad parenting can be measured in many different ways. One of the things that we all forget about is “lead by example”. What we as adults, teach our children, is what our future generations will be as people.
