Work Experience Essay
It all began when my tutor informed us that we have to find our work
placements for the two weeks of work experience. When we were first
told about work experience I thought to my self 'great no school for
two weeks.' I was looking forward to looking around places and trying
to figure out what and where I wanted to do my work experience. I
personally enjoy things associated with Sports and helping people so I
wanted to do something along these lines. I started looking around
areas of work I could look into, and then phoned up some of these
places to see if they did work experience in advance. I found that
many of the places I wanted to do work experience at did have
vacancies during the June/July time. I was glad when I found this out,
as I would be doing something, I enjoyed for two weeks, and not
something I was told to do because I had to.
I spoke to the head of work experience at various places and they said
I would be able to do it there and all I needed to do was get the
forms to them so they could fill them in and my placement would be
sorted. The first placement I found was at Lords' Cricket Ground and
as I love cricket I was well up for doing work experience there. I had
called them on many occasions and they kept saying they would get back
to me and would let me know if I was able to do it there. It was now
February and they had not yet got back to me; I decided to ring again
and by this time, the placement had been taken. I was a bit annoyed as
they had offered me the placement and then given it to someone else
without considering the consequences.
It was now the February half term and I knew I...

have a healthy life whereas for these people it must have been like
living in hell as they were always taking these different medicines. I
spoke too many of the elderly people who visited, they said that they
spent more time taking there medicine than living their life as it was
always on their mind, and that at a certain times they would have to
take their medicine. This made me wonder; maybe the way we live our
lives at a young age reflects our future health? It made me more
conscious of things I do today in everyday life such as what I eat and
daily exercise.
Overall work experience was a great and enjoyable experience and I
would love to take part in it again as it helps you think about what
you want to do in your life and how hard it can be at certain times.

Good personal care is a part of positive working practice as if a client personal care is not cared for in the right manner then the client will have poor health and well-being, and may be disrespected. It is important for a client to have good personal care as this will prevent them from health issues such as fungus infections e.g. athlete foot, toe nail fungus infections etc. Positive working practice with personal care includes aspects such as appropriate touch which includes being clear to the client about why they are using touch, also they have to take into consideration gender and cultural factors when using touch. Personal preference and emotional state this means asking the client how they would prefer to be helped and allow them as much independence in which the staff thinks it is safe. General hygiene, toileting and safety when looking after someone who has limited mobility or has problem balancing, are also elements of positive practice when implementing personal care to a client .Person...
In the book Outliers, and in the articles, “Meaningful Work”, “Do, Just, Do: A Journey to Meaningful, Satisfying work”, and “ You Wont Find Meaningful work Looking Outside Yourself”, The authors Malcolm Gladwell, Michael F. Steger, Lori Deschene, and Keven wood describe what the joy of meaningful is to them.Life is what you make of it and it’s and up to you to decide what you will get out of it. Some people may work eight hour shifts Monday through Friday miserable, exhausted, depressed, unhappy, and under a lot of pressure and stress from their jobs. Others may do the same, similar, or different jobs being comfortable, happy with life, and pleased with their job position. Your job should be one of the most important things to you because you are there on average forty hours a week and most of your time is spent there. It should be important that you enjoy what you do because it is practically your second home. Meaningful work is a job you enjoy doing, are compassionate about, never tired of, and do for the fulfillment of yourself , it is important to success because if one enjoys what they do opportunities in their career path will only expand.
My education experiences are very uniquely different from the majority of college students. I was homeschooled for my entire life until I entered college. The only teacher I ever had was my mother and the only classroom I ever sat in was my kitchen table. Being homeschooled awarded me many distinctive opportunities that other students weren’t entitled to. It also meant that I was shielded from the parts of the education system that my mother didn’t agree with or support. For instance, I didn’t take graded tests and didn’t received grades on the essays I wrote. Instead when I took a test, I would help to check over it to understand any mistakes that were made. Similarly, the essays I wrote would be discussed and then often re-written as examples
During my work experience at , I was fortunate enough to have experienced firsthand and learned, many different sides of what goes into a project, the general process of how a project is initially planned, developed and completed; as well as how much work and detail goes into every stage. Another valuable lesson I have learned during these 12 weeks, were the many different types of work an Engineer has to perform, which in turn, have provided me with more insight into the different types of roles and responsibilities that I could perform, as a Civil Engineer.
In society, most people will work for many different reasons. Some will work based on the needs of money to survive, some require money to feed their love ones, and some just need money for their own leisure. In life, most people work just to stay busy, and even work until it’s time for them to retire. When applying for a job, the employer will ask for a résumé or a job application. When the information is given, it contains a work history which is a detailed report of all the jobs that a person has held, including company name, job title, and dates of employment. Companies typically required that applicants must provide their work history when applying for a job. A person’s work history is used by prospective employers to verify the information that a person has provided and to be contacted by pervious employers for background checks.

Employability is a multifaceted concept and one of the major subjects of debate in terms of what it is, how it is measured, how it is developed, and who is responsible for it. It is also one of the widely debated issues of accrediting and determining world class higher education institutions which could go a long way in systematically improving the performance of an institution as well as an individual. Most of the studies regarding employability have found lesser understanding of this concept especially in graduates who need to be well versed with the concept of employability as they are the force that ignite this notion and take it forward to the workplaces and to the employers they encounter during their careers. There is a need of awareness

The aim of this essay is to discuss nature of managerial work. In this paper I will compare commonly accepted views about managerial work from a literature and discuss different views on this topic. A manager can be defined as someone whose role in an organisation involves planning, organising, coordinating, commanding and controlling. Management is the act of carrying out the five roles stated above and has been there since the world was formed. From the biblical point of view when God formed the earth he put man in charge of the earth and everything in it. Today managers are seen everywhere i.e., at home where the father is manager of family security and mother manager of family nourishment and in the community where there are business organisations

Do you ever wonder what life after work feels like? Let me take you into a journey of the lives of four people that I had the pleasure of interviewing. These four people share their life of life after work, what made them retire earlier than the retirement age of 75, what the pros and cons are, how they handle living expenses, and how they live their daily lives. Furthermore, I became very intrigued at what I found.
