Wofford College has an outstanding academic program that I would be so grateful to gain knowledge from and learn from great professors and my peers. Most universities and colleges offer internships and programs in the students interests but I believe that Wofford College is different from any of college. I am convinced that Wofford College puts their students first in education and in their future, they provide their students that experiences that will prepare them in the future. One major thing I have learned from my first semester at Roanoke College is that college life and life in general has had many twists, turns, ups and downs and at Roanoke I did not have the support or help from my professors. From what I have observed and heard Wofford
The key to a well-rounded college career is having a combination of experiential education and academic studies. Having the opportunity to dapple into your field of study one year into college is an experience not offered to most students. It allows the student a chance to grow up and join the real world, for six-months at a time. Northeastern University, in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, offers just that to all of its undergraduate students. Northeastern University is ranked number one in co-ops by the Princeton Review, and offers a six-month long internship program every year.
I hope to leave NC State as a young adult who is ready and prepared to enter society with a determined mindset and hard work ethic. I believe that I will be perfectly capable of achieving my goals and and aspirations as an NC graduate, and will graduate with the experience to take on challenges that may await me in a future career. Although I am still unsure of my desired field of study, I am confident that I will be able to discover a career path I will enjoy through the Exploratory Studies college. I am excited to enroll as an undergraduate student at NC State, and look forward to the opportunities ahead of me in the college of Exploratory
My personal motivation for applying to the HACU internship program is that I want to be exposed to a real work environment while still in college. Working with an organization on projects with real-world impact would be an eye-opening and valuable experience that would help me greatly in choosing and carrying out my future academic and career goals. I know that my college courses have prepared me well to contribute with analytical skills to any organization. Thus, I would be excited to get an internship opportunity with a government or corporate sector organization, allowing me to expand the skillset and knowledge that I have gained in my college courses and labs. On top of that, getting an internship would be an adventure and a great way to gain new skills.
Visiting Indiana University for the first time made my heart melt. The atmosphere, people, and academics have all interested me. I want the hands-on experience that IU is able to provide. My academics
The new skills the DC program can provide can be crucial to a career move in the future. Further, I believe that having an internship in DC on a resume can really aid in making oneself stand out. I think that doing the DC internship can help me reach my full potential before I graduate. Moreover, I truly believe that the DC internship can help me demonstrate to future employers, professors, or mentors that I have the right intention in mind. My intention before entering the “real world” is to demonstrate that I have a good work ethic and that it is very important to me what I have to offer to the world.
I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams a reality. Regretfully, when I entered high school, I did not realize how hard I had to work to get what I wanted. I went to my classes, did my work, but never really pushed myself to my full potential. I thought that as long as I graduated with decent grades I would be able to get into college and really focus then. But as high school quickly came to an end, I realized that I was not as well prepared for college, as I would have liked.
Additionally, prestigious institutions need to take initiative to create new programs that will make college a painless transition for first generation students by implementing new policies such as mentorship or clubs. While many colleges and universities have not taken the initiative to help first-generation students, North Carolina State University is one of the few exceptions. As a fellow first generation college student at North Carolina State University, I have reaped many benefits from the different organizations they have around campus. At the Poole College of Management, I was assigned a professional mentor in my future line of work that made the transition into college a better experience for me. After listening to his forums, I was able to use the skills I had learnt from my parents and apply them to college and my study habits, benefiting me in countless ways.
The accelerated school counseling program with the yearlong internship is another reason I am interested in the University of North Carolina. The yearlong internship will be the most beneficial aspect of the program because of the opportunity to fully develop relationships with both students and staff, as well as have the opportunity to handle a wide range of issues that occur during a school year.
In conclusion, I was fortunate enough to understand many important things in life. One of those things is that we do not always begin at the desired start line, but through effort and strong will we can arrive at the desired finish line, where the outcome of our plans and goals reside. In my pursuit of education, I faced many challenges and hardships, but I always viewed them as temporary setbacks not as a finish line. I am certain that an opportunity to study at the UW would help me reach my finish line.
All business schools should have an internship program. The benefits that the internship program can give to its students are outstanding. Students that participate in internships not only benefit themselves but they can also help out other business students by bringing back valuable knowledge and sharing it with them. (Swift and Kent 1) Students also get a good taste of the high pace business world, internships can help weed out the week business students and strengthen the strong. But usually both the student and the business and the business school benefit from the internship. According to Swift and Kent researchers have reported that students who participate in formal internships find their jobs sooner and receive more job offers than do students who do not participate in internships. This being true perspective students in the business field might start looking into schools to see how their internship programs are and might star...

Initially when I was looking for an internship, my goal was to find one that complemented my double major in criminology & criminal justice and psychology. During my search, I found some reputable organizations, but quickly discovered that they either required an extended training/orientation period or were not compatible with my schedule. Thus in finding the Urban Education Leaders Internship Program (UELIP) of the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), which primarily focuses on an interest in education and public policy, I was skeptical that my interest in criminal psychology would be met. However, I quickly learned that this was not the case. Not only did my internship with DCPS indirectly appeal to my major, but it also provided me with a valuable experience in which I acquired fundamental skills and learned more about myself.
In particular, it was helpful to here from individuals on the panel that were graduates from our program. Elizabeth Cowart, a LPC at Transitions of Augusta, informed my classmates and I about about her personal internship experiences. She noted four key things (1) the importance of getting as much hands-on experience as possible (2) taking a mental note of the what you like and dislike at each internship site (3) using weekly supervision hours to discuss your areas of strengths and weaknesses and (4) remembering to always maintain a professional image. In addition, she also gave a brief overview of opportunities (e.g., adolescent group therapy, child and parent therapy, disability evaluations, etc.) that interns might have at Transitions of
Thinking about the role you play in your company or organizations, discuss how your might or have used what you know from the ALD program to break down some of the silos that get created in organizations separating departments and often creating miscommunication and distrust.
The teaching internship class at Sandburg has been a great experience so far. I love the fact that I am able to learn more about the profession that really interests me. It really gives me a firsthand look on how everything operates and teaches me things that ...
