I am currently enrolled in Calculus II (MATH 215), so that gives me the opportunity to take my first exam this summer. This can be achieved by enrolling in Financial Mathematics (MATH 350) which I plan to take this spring of 2018. This course will prepare me for the FM exam which I will then take in June or if I don’t pass or decide to study more during the summer, I can take it in August. Going into my second year I would already have one exam passed. In the fall of 2018 I can enroll in Intro to Probability (MATH 346). This class will give me the knowledge to take exam P in January at the earliest, but I have the whole spring and summer to study and take it if I need to because it is offered every other month. The spring of 2019 I will not be taking any classes that are needed for exams, but I plan on taking MATH 347 which is needed for a VEE. With this plan I will have two exams passed going into junior year and hopefully I will have worked an internship the summer of 2019. Two exams should make me very qualified to work an internship over the summer and hopefully get experience as an actuary. …show more content…
That spring I will be enrolled in MATH 475 with the intentions of taking the Short-Term Actuarial Mathematics exam. Leaving my junior year, I will potentially have four exams completed which should exceed the requirements for most jobs and give me a high chance of getting hired by an employer. In the fall of my senior year I will be enrolled in MATH 450 and that spring of 2021 I will take MATH 460. Together these classes will possibly prepare me for the Long-Term Actuarial Mathematics exam, but I will not be able to take this until that summer. This plan has me on track to completing five exams (one after I graduate) and puts me ahead of all exam requirements for an entry level actuarial
Be entering college in the Fall of 2014 as a Freshman at a four-year school for an undergraduate degree
Recently the guidance department of Boston Latin School has instituted a new policy that limits the number of Advanced Placement classes students can enroll in during junior year. Previously students after being granted a waiver could take a maximum of four AP classes. However under the new guidelines all juniors are restricted to three. This is unfair to students who seek to reach their full academic potential.
As you can see during my time in ACA 115 I have learned about college, me, my career, and many more things. But I believe that this course has also prepared me for future courses and how to approach college with the appropriate attitude I will need to succeed in school, while working, and in life. The most important thing I have learned about during my time in this course is me. Before this course I knew very little about me and college as well as my career. But after taking this course I feel more confident and prepared for my future. So if you were to ask me. “Is ACA 115 worth taking?” My answer would be yes it is you will learn valuable information and have a teacher to help you. Because most of the time your not going to learn all this wonderful information just on your own it’s much easier if you have a little help.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done”. This quote from Nelson Mandela comes to mind when describing why I aspire to become a Physician Assistant. It has always been a great motivation and inspired me not to get discouraged with failure; rather look forward for your goals. Frequently, it takes many trials and lack of success as well as achievements, for one to truthfully discover him/herself. I instinctively progressed through the motions of life. Many options were available and choosing a career as I grew up kept altering, until one day when I saw how helping other people is my sole purpose of life. Getting to know more of physician assistant drove me into the thoughts of pursuing it as a career.
Thousands of students around the country and around the world will be preparing for the SAT and ACT tests while trying to maintain a high GPA. These tests will potentially have a significant impact on students lives. Some will be taking these tests for the second or even third time to get that 1500 out of 1600 or that 33 out of 36, that they long desire.
Like all of us did, “many high school students spend the spring semester of their junior year preparing to take the ACT or SAT.” (Streetman)
I want to be in ASB because I think that this is a great opportunity for me to practice my leadership skills to help all students at Medea Creek. I enjoy helping people and working with others and I know that ASB is a wonderful chance for me to do so. I know that our school should have voices that help others who cannot speak up for themselves and I will help them raise their voices in school. I want to be part of ASB because I think that this can help me mature, and also help achieve my goal for life, which is becoming the president of the U.S. I believe that ASB is a unique opportunity to help me become a game-changer in our school and community. ASB students make changes in their community every day. I think that that is an amazing thing, getting to impact your community every single day.
Furthermore, I am on a decent pathway for my C and D courses. Currently, I am in an honor Math class and as well as an honor (STEAM) Biology. Without a doubt, I will be completing all four years of Math and Science classes. Not to mention, I have set my goal to do AP Calculus and AP Physic as my future classes. In other word, I am on the right path for completing these requirements.
14. Prep for standardized test. If your school offers ACT prep or any other end-of-the-year test prep, at least go to one, even if it's on the weekend. One Saturday won't hurt if you can guarantee yourself that you'll pass
Furthermore, my most challenging courses throughout my Junior year were Ap US history and Ap English Language. As for Ap US history time management
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
Some call me argumentative- I prefer the term dialectical. It is true, I enjoy debates more than the average person. Nothing compares to the thrill of triumphantly dispelling an opponent’s case and swaying an audience to my side. On top of that, I have a sincere appreciation and talent for writing, reading comprehension, and grammar. With these attributes, I feel destined for a career in law. Yet, it is more than just my personal tastes that have led to my interest in legal services. Growing up with a disorder, I have developed empathy for people with disabilities and a desire to help them by advocating for their rights. As a lawyer, I hope to take action to make the world a better place to live in for people with conditions similar- and maybe not so similar- to mine.
My advisor will be Dana Gohmann. I am planning on getting a BS in Psychology. I will be required to take a math and several science courses for this degree – on top of all the courses required for my psychology degree. However, I do have about forty-two credit hours of electives. I plan on taking advantage of this and will take a wide variety of classes. I really want to take two semesters of ASL (American Sign Language) at UL. I also want to learn how to play the guitar for a semester or two, as well as take more psychology classes that are not required in my major. By doing this I will still be able to explore, pursue, and enjoy some of my hobbies as well as rule out which parts of psychology interest me and which parts bored me to death. On top of getting a major in Psychology, I think I want to get a minor in pre-expressive therapy. A lot of my psychology class will overlap with some of the classes that I need to take to get my minor in pre-expressive
When I was 8 year old I scored 100 out of 100 marks in Mathematics and when my class teacher announced the results whole class stood and clapped, I can never forget that overwhelming moment in my life, I was so happy and contended, and that day I understood the importance of education in life. My parents couldn’t study after high school due to financial restrictions but they always taught me importance of higher education to imagine and pursue goals. My family has been extremely supportive throughout the journey and has constantly motivated me to realize my potential to the fullest extent by providing conducive environment for studying and encouraging me in my endeavors. Throughout my high school, I enjoyed two things: Mathematics and Extra-curricular activities, these activities helped me to gain team skills, stress management skills and social relationship skills.
