There are many new fields that come into this world, often time school is teaching you to be prepared for a career that does not exist yet. With the high-rise of Mechatronics, it will lead the future as it is a combined degree that mixes electrical and mechanical engineering. With every career comes good and bad reasons. A reason I would become a Mechatronics engineer would be for this combined engineering, though this would be a lot of work and probably longer to learn. Another valid reason for me to go into this career is my personality, as I am more spontaneous, with this it would lead to other key personality traits. Though recently developing procrastination has occurred, though this may be due to me being a Challenger student. Along with …show more content…
Even with the overall pros and cons of going into this career field, I know that the best option for me is to go in if time were to go against my side and the learning process may be a bit heavy on me I believe that my search for a broader and better knowledge will lead me to become a Mechatronic engineer. The phrase, “The best of both worlds,” can often describe the ability of Mechatronics, because Mechatronics is a mixture of several different types of engineering. This is mostly shown through a as well as others, thus it would be the best of engineers. A common representation of what Mechatronics is, would often be a picture that was developed by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It was described as: “Mechatronics means many things… [this] drawing…consists of four overlapping circles: mechanical systems, electronic systems, control systems, and computers…their junctions forms Mechatronics (Brown).” Knowing that this would be the best of both worlds, I can relate this to a story from when I was in middle school. I was given a project to tell what lung cancer …show more content…
I believe that I have gotten a bit better due to the fact that my grades on the rise and attitude is as well. As Mechatronics is still relatively new to the field of technology, it is a very profitable, where I can make a good living. Even though Mechatronics can be considered either mechanical or electrical. Thus the salary may range, “the median salary for mechanical engineers was $83,060 per year, while electrical engineers earned a median annual salary of about $91,410 (Becoming a Mechatronic Engineer).” Even with the good pay, and the fact that this career is growing more yearly, it may take me a few years to even become one. This is not to include the price and cost it may be to go to school to complete this degree, “Some jobs require an abundance of experience (3-7 years) (Becoming a Mechatronic Engineer).” This results in more experience and more money for schools which may just even out in the end rather than making a profit out of it. With every career there will always be pros and cons. These pros and cons can vary from person to person and they could deal with a variety of issues.
Everyone at one point has to make a decision on what they want to be when they grow up. For me, that decision came rather unexpectedly and was a result of a new found interest due to self-discovery. It all began when I was around the age of 8 and I watched a documentary on aircraft. It documented all about planes, how they work and the science behind them. I was immediately captivated and gaining all that information as a young child really hit the spot in terms of a new found passion and interest that I could see myself later using. This passion stuck with me ever since as I have spent tons of spare time studying different types of aircraft and collecting model planes. It ultimately helped me with my answer to the question of what I wanted to be when I grew up as being an aeronautical engineer. It is not a career most would pursue, but it shows how self-discovery impacted me at a very young age and the impact is so log lasting that it has influenced most of the decision I make now in terms of courses I take at school and the extracurricular activities I am a part of. Without self-discovery, I was able to gain an understanding of where my interests lay, the abilities I have to acquire complex information and the feelings I had towards my new found interest and
Do you remember what it felt like to be a teen and wonder what your future would become? That is right where I am at. As a freshman in high school, I have begun thinking about what my future in life will be. Which school, what career path, and where? All of these options are very overwhelming. At the moment, I would like to follow the path of engineering, manufacturing, and technology, and pursue college degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering. In order to achieve my dream, I can use background career knowledge, ACT test requirements, and habits designed to help you get to where you want to go.
I want to go to college because I know without a college degree, I would be going nowhere in my life. I want to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering; I have been dreaming about working as a marine surveyor since I was eleven years old. There are many reasons why I want to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. One reason why I want to become a marine surveyor, marine surveying is my dream job; another reason is as a kid growing up I have always found it fascinating to create things and inspect things. As a kid growing up, because of my interest in inspecting and creating things pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering is be perfect for me. I would be the first person in my family to go to college. College is my opportunity to make something of myself and actually get by and be happy with the knowledge. Also, I want to be a role model for my smaller brother, so he can see that a college education is important. My mother has big part in my choice of me want to go to college. I want to go to college so I can be able to be proud of me; to build a stable foundation, to achieve my goal of being a college graduate, and to prepare myself for the world.
I have been wanting to drive because it will be one of the most useful life skills after I graduate from high school. To me, being able to drive means to have a convenient, interesting life, and being a helpful person. My life will be more convenient when I can drive by myself. I am jealous of the day students who can drive off campus to have food when they do not have classes. For those of us who can not drive, the only chance to get out of the school is to up for the school shuttles that can only go certain destinations.
The earliest glimpse of my future was at an elementary career day years ago. When I filled out what I was going to dress up as I wrote the word, “farmacist.” My mom was a pharmacist and I looked up to her and wanted to be just like her! So when career day rolled around I dressed in a white coat carrying a big bottle full of M&M’s to dispense to my classmates. Now so many years later here I am actually about to take on graduate school and follow in my mother’s footsteps to become a pharmacist. Of course my career path has been less than a straight line from “farmasist” to pharmacist. My passion and talent for math and science in high school allowed me to seriously consider a career in engineering. However, the more I considered engineering, the more there seemed to be something missing. As much as I loved solving problems I did not see
Money and fame do not motivate my goals. Engineering in all forms is a field of innovation and invention. Aspirations of any great engineer should be to introduce to the world a new idea, product, or service that will make people happier and the environment safer. Success in these challenges is a reward greater than any dollar amount or public recognition. Engineers bring societies to new levels of civilization through their advancements in technology and discovery. The challenge to provide people with ever-increasing standards while at the same time feeding the population with ideas of what could be attracts my imagination, intelligence, and curiosity far more than any other career option. The engineering field embraces these challenges.
I know that the major I chose as an electrical engineer is not an easy one, but I also know that this is the best fit for me, and that I chose the right one. Not only do I get to contribute to the ever-changing society that we live in, but I also face new challenges every day, which is exciting because that means that in my career each day is different, and I love taking on a new challenge, which will enhance my knowledge and make me a better electrical engineer.
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
My career goal is to become an Auto Mechanic and Shop Owner. Being an Auto Mechanic intends to have a variety of skills such as: having knowledge on a variety of knowledge with different car companies, the ability to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it fast and to perfection. They also have to have knowledge on every car part and currently be great with electronics. A shop owner has to be good with business, numbers, customer relationships, have the knowledge of an Auto Mechanic. The talents that I have to become an Auto Mechanic and a shop owner are that I have basic knowledge on cars, their parts, where to get cheap parts, good speaking skills. I’m beginning to be able to do a diagnosis on a car, I’m also good at electronics. I also have a few mentors helping me out.
When you want to advance in your field you must be able to obtain certifications in many different programs. When you have a certification it says something about what you know as an engineer, “Certifications provide status to those who have proven their knowledge and give employers a benchmark standard for measuring employee candidates” (Ricci, 2012). Before you apply for a mechanical engineering job you should get a bachelor but now in the workplace you will need a master’s degree to have a chance of moving up in the workplace. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2015) says, “Some colleges and universities offer 5-year programs that allow students to obtain both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree”. Having this choice will allow you to save money on college and then be able to have time for internships and possible a job while you complete your
This change makes me involve in more other activities and eventually leads me to a successful Engineer. Education brings me a healthy body and mind throughout my life. Finally a career that embraces a program of continuous lifelong learning will ensure that I have a successful career. Because every moment of time, everywhere, under all circumstances something is being added to our previous attainments. My Career will be filled with many proud accomplishments, earning respect from colleagues, friends and a career that is fun and exciting.
Unlike many students who are unsure of the specialty they wish to pursue when entering college, my goal has always been to become a computer engineer. Becoming a computer engineer is not simply a decision I have taken lightly. I have thought very long and hard before deciding to pursue this career path.
My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Since there were very few options in India & there was no direct path to get into automobile field.
My career plan is to go into mechanical engineering. A mechanical engineer is the person who designs and make machines like generators. Engineering is a difficult and competitive field. Engineering requires a bachelor's degree and a good understanding of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). I would have to pass an engineering exam to get my license. Some school near me that offer the degree I want are Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech, and Western Michigan.
