Ever since I was young, I've always struggled with math. However, I never let it get the best of me. To start off, and to be honest, I never really had any success in math except for counting my money after a long day of work. When I was young and in Elementary School, I stayed back in first grade. My mother decided that it was only for the best, and that it would only help me. The reason why I stayed back was because I had a lot of learning disabilities, and I was always put with the students who had trouble learning, and was put with the students who had an IEP. But when I started to grow older, I starting finding many strategies to help me understand things better. In Elementary School, I always forgot how to multiply numbers so I always …show more content…

When it came to math, I always asked the teacher for help whenever I needed it, even if it took having to stay after school for extra help. For the most part, I was just a solid B student, however, I was just a C student in math. Since I have been getting C’s in math almost all throughout my school life, it doesn’t really bother me anymore because I’m so used to it. In tenth grade, I had a math teacher named Mrs, Foisy; she was always willing to help me whenever I needed it, and always gave me extra time to finish my tests and quizzes, and whenever I didn’t finish classwork, I was always able to take it home and finish it. One situation would include counting money. I seem to do this activity everyday because it’s something that I enjoy. Another situation would be reading time. Whether it’s a digital clock or analog clock, having to decide when to leave to go somewhere you may need to think about how much time to save in between and how much time you should give yourself to get there. Cooking is another example and without math, your food may or may not taste right. Measuring tablespoons and cups may not be part of your cooking routine, but it is part of mine. Through some point of the process of cooking your dinner, measuring servings and how much to make everyone should cross your mind at some point. Paying for things may be another example. When you want to go to the store and buy yourself something, you're going to need to know how much money to give them. However, some people like to go the easy way out and just use their credit cards. Some people might not think much about it but using that method might result with you getting into debt, and you can’t pay your bills, and you just might make your credit score go way down and that might result in having problems with renting an apartment etc. My last situation where I may use math might be my two math classes.
