Why I Chose Sociology Course

class, is one reason that guided me towards a sociology student, but I also got other help along the way from friends referencing me to see an advisor to help me choose a major. With the help from advisors, I had to go through different tests, and go through classes of the major, which I found to be quite interesting. My teammate, Maia, mentioned to me that I should go and see an advisor.. Besides my family, Maia is someone that has had a huge impact on my life while at college. Because of Maia, I dialed the phone and made an appointment. I was a bit nervous because I felt that I should have already known my major and what I want/wanted to do going into my fourth semester of college. I often viewed myself with a lack of confidence. By being Sociology major, I have gained more confidence in my work-studies more than ever before. With in depth learning, reading, writing, and observing, I feel I can make a change in the world although at times I feel that I am lacking. My goal in life is to make a difference. I would be satisfied if I were to just make a difference within a small group of people. I am a believer that that with a small group of people, they would be able to use their knowledge and spread it to many others. Communication between people is such a wonderful gift of all. By communicating with others, people learn that they have knowledge base, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and other skill sets as I have mentioned earlier about my journey to college. Once people have come together as one, then they are able to recognize themselves, and be more powerful than they were once before. For me to want to know what my purpose in life was to empty my mind, and get rid of the all the negative things that been taught to me, just like what my high school teacher, but if I were to listen to him, I would not be the person, leader, or learner that I am today. Between the classes that I took in high school such as my first sociology class and my junior leadership to my first year in school were very significant because that was a stepping stone until I entered my sophomore in college, and I knew things had to change in order for me to be whole with myself and
