I chose Carnegie Mellon for numerous reasons; I have heard many wonderful things about your university in regards to the school itself, the environment, and the hands on nature of the programs you offer. I am also very impressed by the prestige of the drama program that the school provides. I feel that attending Carnegie Mellon and working with the staff will push me to improve and build upon my skills. The fact that this school is located in Pittsburgh is also a very attractive factor in my decision-making; Pittsburgh has an amazing theater and arts community so I can see myself being comfortable and feeling welcome here. I see it as a oppurtunity to meet new and interesting people who share my same interests, as well as to gain contacts that will help me progress in the career I would like to pursue. …show more content…
I have acted since I was eight years old, starting in small productions and working my way into larger shows and venues. I believe that an acting major would really help to improve and refine my skills, as well as give me a new perspective on my art and how to truly make it my own and be successful. Also by choosing an acting major I hope that it can introduce me to fellow actors and artists with whom I can share interests, and to those who can help me find jobs and oppurtunities. Acting is an art form I truly love and I believe that everyone should pursue the career they dream of, not just one they feel obligated to go into. I want to be able to make an impact on the world and I feel like my way of doing that is through
Education is something I believe in. When it comes to school all I think of is being a future student of Old Dominion University. Ever since the 7th grade ,when I joined the avid program, I have had the dream to go to college. Teachers at Windsor Oaks Elementary school showed me how fun learning is. Plaza middle school instilled in me that knowledge is key to everything. Green Run High School is helping on my way to success. Education is not just the kind of things I do at school, but instead it is learning new things everyday. I am passionate about becoming smarter and gaining wisdom. Growing up, my parents always applauded my hard work ethic in school because they have realized the immense impact that education has. Education has allowed people to thrive more than anything else. Without
As a native “Pittsburgher,” I can say I’ve heard of the oldest tradition at the university: the Spring Carnival. Traditions like this, and others such as the Buggy sweepstakes and “Traying” are what make CMU so awesome! If students need a break from the academics, there is always something going on to do just that. Also, as an economics major, it would be nice to participate in some sort of economics related extracurriculars outside of class. And of course, CMU offers these. Student organizations like the Carnegie Mellon Economics Society offer a forum to discuss all things pertaining to economics, which interests me. All in all, I believe Carnegie Mellon is the perfect fit for me. All of my ambitious academic aspirations and career goals can be met by attending this prestigious university. I would forever cherish the opportunity to be a Tartan!
UTK is a the university that I want to attend because it will give me a great opportunity to be a success student, and because the city it is located in is a beautiful place and has different social opportunities. Also because the school spirit and everyone there feels like your
I chose my major because I loved producing media and want to have a career in it. Expressing myself in an artistic and cinematic way is my reason for living; it is so much of who I am and how I define myself. I want to do that for the rest of my life and this degree will help accomplish that. I have loved my major so far. Prior to this year, I had only taken Introduction to Mass Communication. However, I am currently taking Video Production, Audio
If you do nothing, you change nothing. If selected as an honors student, I fully intend to draw on every opportunity available to me through the honors program such as study abroad, research, and internships. Having type one diabetes both motivates and fuels a passion to better communities I am involved with and work with dedication. I will contribute not only my time, but also my personal experiences and motivation to push for innovation and discovery in on-campus research in a variety of different research.
I got into theatre my Junior year and It has changed my life. I am more outgoing and more likely to step out of my comfort zone. It has also helped me strengthen my time management skills. Theatre has also opened my up to a whole new group of people. I do community theatre in a town 30 minutes away from my hometown and I did not know anyone who did the community theatre and now I have strong friendships with all of them and I would never have gotten that without Theatre.
There are many reasons why I decided that I wanted to work in the social work profession. When I first enrolled in college, I was a nursing major with the mindset of becoming a neonatal nurse. When that did not go as planned, I decided to become a social work major because I knew I would receive the same reward of helping someone out and providing an individual with a better opportunity by lending him or her a hand. This was my first reason for choosing this career because I saw so many benefits from this profession. My second reason for was due to the fact that I want to help people during their time of need. There were times in my life where I needed guidance and it felt great to have someone there being compassionate and caring towards me.
I choose Truman State University because of its affordability, student-faculty ratio, small class sizes and commitment to academic excellence. When I arrived at Truman, I did not know what I wanted to study. This was beneficial because of the liberal studies program, which requires students to take certain subjects outside their major in order to create a more well-rounded individual that can critically think from many different facets of knowledge. After taking the required Public Speaking course I was intrigued with language and its functionality in everyday life which led me to major in communication and became a McNair Scholar. The McNair Program is a program that prepares underrepresented or first-generation students achieve their doctorate
I chose West Virginia University to go to college because I utterly love that school. My cousin, Nicole, attended WVU and received her chemist degree there. I do not only want to go to WVU because she went there, but because it’s close to home. I want to go to a college where I do not have to drive five or six hours to go home and see my family. Family is yet another motive why I want to go to WVU. My family is one of the biggest football and basketball fans ever. Every time there is a Mountaineer football or basketball game on television, you bet my family is watching it, even if they are losing.
College majors are one of, if not the most important aspect of college. Starting at young ages, students are pressured to think about their future and the possible career paths they will take, leaving little room for them to relish in their childhood. In high school, they are told the AP classes they take and the clubs they join should be reflective of the major they will have in college. This pressure ends up being a source of stress for many incoming college students who have no idea what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Moreover, when students are rushed to make a decision, they may end up in debt, unemployed, or working a field they have no interest in. Additionally, the necessity of bachelor’s degrees to get well-paying jobs,
Choosing a college is a huge milestone in life. The college you chose (If you choose to go to college) should fit your interest. Furthermore, the college should be a good fit for you, financially, socially, and academically. The college I plan on going to is AMDA. AMDA stands for American Music and Dramatic Academy. This, hence the name, is a performing arts conservatory located in New York. I believe I would highly benefit from this academically, financially, and socially.
A BFA acting program is the best way I can get the education I need to make a career out of acting in theatre. The last year I’ve spent Ohio University has greatly challenged me as a person, but what I love the most about my time spent here is my acting classes and the opportunities I am afforded outside of the theatre department to act. I have learned so much in the little time I’ve been here and I am continuously inspired by the faculty and upperclassmen of the Theatre Division to do the work I’m passionate about. Therefore, I hope to continue both doing and being challenged by what I love most about this school: its acting program.
It would be a blessing to teach kids drama and theatre, helping them break out of the shell, and helping others like me conquer their social anxiety. Plus, imagine being the teacher of a famous actor! Theatre does not only include plays, but musicals too, therefore I will not be giving up music. Altogether, participating in the One Act play will give me the experience that will
I am used to being part of a team. Throughout my life, I have participated in collaborative activities including volunteer organizations, school projects, and theater productions. I have always enjoyed being in these groups no matter what position I was in. Working with several people to accomplish a common goal is one of life’s most rewarding experiences. Up until a certain point, however, I had never been the leader of a team.
Baty 1 Hola, I am your typical twenty-year-old college freshman. Ha-ha, sike! I am anything but typical. I am an introvert, but I am determined to stand out from the crowd. I am determined to reinvent myself regardless of what society may have to say about my decisions.
