Choosing a college is a huge milestone in life. The college you chose (If you choose to go to college) should fit your interest. Furthermore, the college should be a good fit for you, financially, socially, and academically. The college I plan on going to is AMDA. AMDA stands for American Music and Dramatic Academy. This, hence the name, is a performing arts conservatory located in New York. I believe I would highly benefit from this academically, financially, and socially.
This school fits me socially because I would be surrounded by people who are willing to put in the necessary work to achieve their dreams. Like now, while I’m in choir, no one takes it serious. Everyone just thinks of choir as another class they have to pass to graduate.

This means that the school’s offerings align with academic interest and the schools admissions profile. At AMDA the main majors offered include, musical theatre, dance theatre, acting, and performing arts. This is appreciable because I hope to major in performing arts. The type of degrees my college offers are bachelors and masters. I would like to get my masters so in the future I can become a music teacher if need be. And of course to get into your dream college or any college for that matter your grades have to be nearly exquisite. The standard grade point average is a 3.0. If you have a good grade point average it’s going to open plenty of doors for you. Furthermore, to get into my school, an audition is required. To fully elaborate, since it’s a performing arts college, you would either have to perform a dance, song, or monologue. In weeks, the school will get back to you, letting you know if you got into the …show more content…
A question to ask yourself is can you afford this school? That doesn’t always mean money wise, it can be is it worth your time and effort. Does it fit your personal criteria? The tuition for in-state is $37,370. In following, the tuition for out-of-state is $46,470. It’s understandable if the tuition is nonnegotiable that’s why you sign up for financial aid. In order to be considered for financial aid, AMDA requires that all U.S. citizens must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). From there you will need to enter AMDAs student code. Or Instead of financial aid you can earn numerous scholarships and that will help out a lot as well. Lucky enough for me AMDA hands out scholarships. Scholarships are given out based on applications and
I always wanted to attend to an important college. To me, that meant that the smartest people has to be there and one that had good reputation. After research and research I understood that my life have changed since I got to the United States. As an international student my opportunities were less, since I do not qualify for financial aid. My choices were less, but i realized that that does not stop me in going to college and prepare myself to be someone in life. I do not need to be at the most important college to prove myself how worth it I am. A two-year community college would let me prepare myself for much less cost and with great opportunities. Glendale Community College a small college would be the best place for me as a student. It is a place where I can get more attention for the teachers and I could pursue my career in medicine.
The school is huge and being a college prep school it is also selective in the students who get enrolled. The focus is on teaching and learning. The school seems predominately white with a few students of color.
There are several reasons why I would like to attend the Woodbridge Academy. Academically, a spectacular learning environment makes a superb school. Some examples of a great learning environment are class sizes being smaller, there is amazing collaboration between the students and faculty, and the school counselors will always be determined and will lead the student in the right direction. Another reason, why I would like to join the academy is what the academy provides. The Woodbridge Academy is a school that provides Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences which is perfect because my future dream is to become a pediatrician and Woodbridge Academy can prepare me for career. Additionally, Woodbridge Academy has high standards for teaching which
Why do you want to go to Asmsa? Why leave home for this school? Is it even the right place for you? All of these questions I have heard be asked before, by my parents, my friends, even I ask myself if this is the right choice, but every time I hear it, I have the answer ready. Of course Asmsa is the right place for me, not only is the school I’ve looked forward to going to since the 7th grade, It is the type of school I’ve always needed to put me in the mindset for learning. The school is a community of learners and full of people who want to achieve, to do more than just graduate, to be more than just valedictorian, and to ask the questions that most wouldn't even care about. The staff at Asmsa is also very educated in the fields they teach, so any and all questions you may have they can answer and don’t teach “for the test,” so to
St. Mary is a better fit for me socially. At my old school many of my fellow classmates did not treat people with respect. Not many students seemed to truly care about the well being of their peers. Whereas at St. Mary, it feels like more of a community. We all look out for each other and try to help out one another. At St. Mary we have the Peacekeeper awards. These awards are given to one student from each homeroom every month. The award is
Although The American Academy of Art and The School of the Art Institutes of Chicago have advantages, I should attend Columbia College Chicago.
Going to college is a big step in a young person’s life. That is why when going to college; one should know which college they would like to go to. For me personally, the college of my dreams is Louisiana State University. The top three majors at Louisiana State University are Biology, Biomedical engineering, and Business. The main reason I want to go to Louisiana State University is because of their amazing biology department .The main things that caught my attention about Louisiana State University, was how flexible I could be with my money, it isn’t that hard to apply and the admission process is pretty doable, and the campus life is interesting with many clubs and organizations that I could join.
When it comes down to choosing a college or a university to attend, the decision may be hard to make. Students often compare differences and similarities in their college experience between small and big schools when it comes to looking more into the learning environment, housing opportunities, and the entertainment provided.
In the economically depressed world we live in today, the bottom line for students and parents when choosing a college is money. Although the thought of going off to college in the big city is both alluring and exciting, the price tag that goes along with it is not. Due to tighter wallets and budget cuts, students are beginning to re-consider their firm stance that they must go out of state for college. With all expenses considered, it is obvious that going to a local college is much cheaper than going to a university across the country. However, if your dream college is 3,000 miles away, there are many options that should be considered that will help pay for tuition, such as scholarships, loans, and working part-time. But even before this step, one must take into account every expense that goes along with that pricey college on the other side of the country; i.e. the application fee, room and board, and even the clothing required in that climate. All of these factors and more were considered when researching my two colleges, Arizona State University and New York University, and I determined that although ASU is the most financially viable, the education and pedigree I would receive attending NYU far outweighed the expensive tuition and other costs. Therefore, NYU, the more expensive school, is my first choice out of the two colleges. Although choosing a top college is an important step in the search process, planning on how to pay for it is the most important step. There are many different options available to incoming students, such as scholarships, loans, part-time jobs, working on campus,
school you’ve had so far. You will get an A in every class and even a 5 on every AP test you take. This will help you get into that college you want to go to, I won’t say which one that is because I don’t want to ruin the
There are a million different reasons I could state why I absolutely love Barnard. Barnard College is my dream school; every time I think about it, a smile graces my lips. With Barnard, I don't have to pick and choose between what I want. It gives me the intimate atmosphere and close connection of a small college, yet allows me be part of a larger university. As a woman in a male-dominated field, the ability to be part of a women's college and at the same time be able to take part in a coeducational environment across the street is perfect. The small campus at Barnard provides a small homely community in contrast to NYC, one of the largest cities in the world.
When moving through the hallways, the teachers, aides and staff were all very friendly and helpful, making sure that I not only belonged to be there, but that I was able to find my way to the appropriate locations. Art lined the halls, and the sounds from the classrooms indicated that the children were exicited and engaged in their activies. I would feel most comfortable having children attend this school. It was a warm, safe and nurturing environment, where the individual was celebrated, and the community created.
Money or lack of it is a reason to drop out of the school. Once you become a student, you will need money for tuition at the school. Rent is $1,000 per month for a three bedroom apartment. This monthly rent doesn't include the utilities, that is, the electric light, cooking gas, internet service which I used for homework and research. All these services are separate from the rent every month.
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving.
