Choosing a college is a huge milestone in life. The college you chose (If you choose to go to college) should fit your interest. Furthermore, the college should be a good fit for you, financially, socially, and academically. The college I plan on going to is AMDA. AMDA stands for American Music and Dramatic Academy. This, hence the name, is a performing arts conservatory located in New York. I believe I would highly benefit from this academically, financially, and socially.
This school fits me socially because I would be surrounded by people who are willing to put in the necessary work to achieve their dreams. Like now, while I’m in choir, no one takes it serious. Everyone just thinks of choir as another class they have to pass to graduate. …show more content…

This means that the school’s offerings align with academic interest and the schools admissions profile. At AMDA the main majors offered include, musical theatre, dance theatre, acting, and performing arts. This is appreciable because I hope to major in performing arts. The type of degrees my college offers are bachelors and masters. I would like to get my masters so in the future I can become a music teacher if need be. And of course to get into your dream college or any college for that matter your grades have to be nearly exquisite. The standard grade point average is a 3.0. If you have a good grade point average it’s going to open plenty of doors for you. Furthermore, to get into my school, an audition is required. To fully elaborate, since it’s a performing arts college, you would either have to perform a dance, song, or monologue. A question to ask yourself is can you afford this school? That doesn’t always mean money wise, it can be is it worth your time and effort. Does it fit your personal criteria? The tuition for in-state is $37,370. In following, the tuition for out-of-state is $46,470. It’s understandable if the tuition is nonnegotiable that’s why you sign up for financial aid. In order to be considered for financial aid, AMDA requires that all U.S. citizens must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). From there you will need to enter AMDAs student code. Or Instead of financial aid you can earn numerous scholarships and that will help out a lot as well.
