As Ralph Lauren once said, “Fashion is about something that comes from within you.” I desire to have my own clothing line and express myself through my clothing. The Academy of Art University, the fashion school, is best known for its fashion courses, and will provide me with the right amount of education to succeed in the fashion industry. The Academy of Art University, has a hundred percent acceptance rate. It is a four year private school that is also the largest accredited private art and design University in the nation. This year’s student population alone was 15,413, the yearly student population increases more and more every year. Any student who graduates high school, or has a GED will be accepted. The out of state tuition is $26,490 dollars. Undergraduate tuition is $873 per unit. The application fee is $50, tuition deposit is $100 per semester, registration $20 per semester, $95 for an enrollment fee, for a first term student. The University also requires you to purchase a student activity pass, which is $30. The estimated under graduate expenses for a full time student is $23,727. The materials and supplies you need, come out to a total of $875 per semester. The housing on campus rangers from $3,973 to 7,921 per semester depending on what dorm you choose (Big Future).
Fashion designer salaries have increased over the years, as fashion has become more popular over the years. The median salary for fashion professionals is $47,334 per year. Their salaries have seen a growth of 12 percent from 2006 to 2012. By 2016, jobs from artist and designers is predicted to increase 42 percent. The tasks a Fashion Director has, are marketing, brand, and retail price. They attend fashion shows, guide their company to profitability, and help improve brand equity. Graduates from AAU, have been employed by companies like; Apple, Nike, Pixar, Zynga and many more. AAU offers internships and job opportunities as well, that can be applied for with the school. AAU offers internships for those who are attending their 3rd and 4th year of college at AAU
